Chapter 63: Chapter 63

“Wait!” He grabbed her wrist as she tried to get into her room. She was not in the mood to talk at all. She was not mad at him. He knew nothing about why she was behaving that way with her. She had her reasons which she wanted to keep hidden from him. She did not know how she would face him if he got to learn about the truth of their past.

It was ironic if one thought about it. She was not guilty of anything at all. She had not done anything wrong for her to feel guilty about everything that happened, but she did.

She felt guilty about being the reason her father rushed that day costing him his life. She felt guilty that Thomas lost his parents because she wanted her father, their driver, to show up at her event. She was so angry that day when her dad did not come. She came home all pissed off not knowing what was about to hit her.

She was so young that she could not understand anything at that time. It was all so shocking to her that she had lost her dad forever. But now, she understood everything. Her father had left them and she was the reason.

It was so fucking hard to accept the truth. She could not believe it had all happened because of her.

And now, Thomas was trying his best to make her share what was bothering her. How could she share everything? How could she tell him that she was the main reason his parents were no more in the world?

“Sit!” He ordered, but this time, she did not frown or narrow her eyes at him. She was too occupied with her thoughts to do that. Thomas noticed it as well.

He brought her to the couch when she did not move and made her sit. He sat beside her and took her hand in his.

She looked at him with a surprised expression.

“I know there is something wrong that is bothering you. I want you to share with me everything. I will try to solve the misery if I could.” He said making her feel emotional to no end.

God knew how much she wanted to share everything with him. God knew how much she yearned for a shoulder to cry on and spill everything to her heart’s content. But she could not.

She did not say anything and just kept staring at their joined hands.

“You know what,” He began as he looked at her torn expression, “I understand if you don’t wanna share. I won’t force you. But at least, tell me if the thing that is bothering you includes me in any sense.” He said because that was what he thought. Why else would she avoid him if he was not the reason?

He thought she must not have liked the way he kissed her at the hospital. Yes, that was the same day after which she started avoiding him for real.

She wanted to laugh. He was so desperately asking. He sure wanted to solve her misery just as he said.

“It does not have anything to do with you.” She said half-lying. It was true that she was not upset because of him. She was upset because of herself. If she had not pestered her dad to attend her event that day, none of it would have happened. She would not have lost her dad. Thomas would not have lost his parents. He would not have hated her dad so much. It truly pained her heart. It felt like somebody was inserting daggers in her heart.

“Are you perhaps mad that I kissed you?” He asked with caution. She was not telling him what was wrong, so he assumed it by himself.

This time, she chuckled. She could not believe he would think something like that. She was the one who responded. Why would she mind? In fact, it gave her butterflies to think that he kissed her where anyone could witness them. She liked it a lot. The way he softly grabbed her face and the way he would pull her closer and closer so he could kiss her deeply. She felt hot all over again just thinking about it.

But she could not tell him that.

He stared at her silently as her laughter subsided.

“Sorry.” She said as she tried to fight the smile. She took in the blank expression on his face as she stopped herself from breaking into full laughter.

He suddenly moved and before she could comprehend what was happening, he pulled her towards himself. In their new position, she lay on top of him while he was lying down on the couch with his back.

She stared down at him with her round and shocked eyes. She tried to move but he caged her in his arms, encircling her waist with his strong arms from behind. Her heart picked up the pace.

“Thomas?” She said in her surprised state. All the laughter was gone. It was his turn to smile.

“You were laughing at me, I think. Keep laughing. I want to see you laugh.” He said looking up at her. She looked so cute trying to get away from his arms while staring at him with a shocked expression. She must have been surprised at his courage.

Why would he not do that when she looked so cute laughing? He missed her so much. He wanted to touch her. He wanted to talk to her. He wanted to keep her safe.

He did not know why he felt protective of her all of a sudden, but he did. She was not telling him what was the problem that was troubling her. He wanted to keep all the problems away from her.

But at that time, he just wanted to see her laugh like she was doing earlier. She looked pretty when she laughed. Her round, big eyes turned like a crescent moon shape when she laughed. Her teeth looked so even and cute. Her cheeks looked even fuller than they already were. He just wanted that laughter on her face—not the worry or trouble which was apparent.

“What are you doing? Let go of me.” She said glaring at him. She could not afford to be that close to him. Her heart reacted funnily. And he was pressing her body hard with his. She felt like she could not breathe.

“Thomas?” She said when he did not release her. He just kept smiling at her. He lifted his face a little leveling his lips with her left ear.

“I love it when you say my name.” He whispered leaving chills down her spine.

He had lifted himself so his body was touching her chest-to-chest while his arms had caged her in his embrace. She felt so awkward. She felt so…hot.

Her heart was beating wildly when she pressed a soft kiss behind her ear leaving another shiver down her spine. Her heart was getting out of hand. She had not imagined that a mere touch of his lips on her skin would leave such an effect on her.

But what was he doing? He was inciting confusing reactions from her. She could not be confused at that point.

“You know, I missed you here…with me.” He said in a husky voice making her shut her eyes tightly. He pressed her body tighter on his body as his lips left a trail on her neck. Butterflies were roaming freely in her stomach as she clutched his shirt in his hand trying not to let out any sound.

He was a magician. He was getting her out of control and that jerk knew it. He knew the effect he had on her. She knew it because she could feel his smile on her skin.

She closed her eyes as he kept exploring her neck. And unintentionally, she was pulling his head closer to her skin. He bit and smoothed the sensitive skin of her neck making her let out a moan that encouraged him.

He turned her around so now she was lying down while he was on the top. He looked into her eyes with an intensity she had not seen before. He also had not felt such intense emotions for anyone before.

Her absence had taught him many things. He came to know that she had become a habit of his. He had become used to her presence in his life. And that he wanted her.

He had never desired anyone as he wanted her. He wanted to make her feel things she must have never felt before. He wanted to do a lot of things to her which he was sure would scare her if he shared his thoughts openly.

He caressed her lips gently before planting his lips over hers. He heard her soft contented sigh as she rubbed his lips over hers. God, he missed tasting her delicious lips. They were so plump, so soft, and so tasty.

He pushed his tongue inside her mouth to taste the depths of her lips. It tasted as heavenly as he had remembered. She could feel his heart beating harshly against her chest. Or was it her own heart? She did not know. She did not want to know. All she was concentrated on was that she was in heaven.

She clutched his shirt tightly again and pulled his head closer. His tongue touched hers taking her to the heights of pleasure she had never been before. He was a trickster. He knew how to trick her emotions.

She was lost in the magic when she heard her phone ring. She pulled away quickly realizing what she was doing. It was not right. She should have never allowed it to happen.

She had thought to herself that she would not allow any proximity between them anymore. She had vowed not to let her feelings get the best of her.

But there she was breaking all of her walls with a snap of his fingers. God, it was hard. It was so freaking hard to resist him.

She pushed him away with all her might and ran towards her room locking the door behind her. She did not even look at him to see his reaction.

Tears flowed from her eyes like a waterfall.

It sucked to feel so torn. It sucked to feel so broken. It sucked to feel so guilty. Her life sucked and she felt that fact from the core of her heart.

She was nothing but a joke—a circus. She did not want that life for her. But did she have a choice at all?

Now, she had no choice but to run away from reality. She did not know for how long she would be able to keep doing it though.
