Chapter 43: Chapter 43
“Welcome to Edmonton, Canada.” The crew announced making her heart skip a beat. She had always wanted to go to Canada. They never had the money though.
It was her first time on the flight. She did not know she would be that nervous. She had squeezed Thomas’s arm out of anxiousness. It was the first time she had touched him intentionally. He was surprised but he also found it cute that such a strong girl apparently could be scared of flights.
They just came to know that morning that their honeymoon location would be Canada. His grandpa knew he wanted to visit the country since he had already seen almost half of the countries in the world. He had been to Canada before once, but he always wanted to visit Alberta. Now, his dream was fulfilled. And true to his grandpa’s words, the place was not far away from US and they could get back within hours if something happened like Olivia feared.
They got out of the plan and their driver was already waiting for them.
“Mr. Walker. I will be your driver for the time you will be here. Welcome to Edmonton.” He greeted them professionally and put their luggage in the trunk.
James had to leave for his sudden trip that was why he could not offer them the jet. They had to take a plane, but it was okay. That was more fun.
He looked at Olivia who was dressed in a yellow sundress that had polka dots on it. She was wearing black wedges and had black purse. Her hair was let loose. She looked so good in such a simple look. She could truly ace anything she wore.
She still looked nervous but the look of pure joy and curiosity could not be missed.
“I hope you will like it here.” Thomas said as he noticed him glancing at the passing view with a smile on her face. Her hair was flying with the soft breeze. She looked angelic.
“I always wanted to visit Canada.” She informed with a smile. She could not believe she was already in the country. She just wished her mom was with her. She would have enjoyed a lot.
“I have been to Canada. But I wanted to visit Alberta. The landscape and the culture have always attracted me.” He said leaning back. It was not a long flight, but he was still tired since they had to get on the plane at 7 a.m. Now, it was almost 11.
She thought about his statement. It made her curious to know how many countries he has seen. He was a billionaire and looked like someone who loved travelling. She would not be surprised if he said he had seen a dozen countries.
“How many countries have you been to?” She asked turning her upper body a little. She was hesitant to ask such questions normally because she thought he would think she was prying on his life. But they were on a vacation. She could ask such questions while she was at it.
“Almost 90 countries I think.” He said making her let out a gasp. Her eyes were about to pop out. What did he just say?
How was it possible?
“Why are you surprised?” He chuckled looking at her horrified reaction. Her mouth was open and wide with shock along her eyes. She could not believe that he was telling the truth.
She looked at him suspiciously. He was only twenty four. How could he have seen half the world already? It did not make any sense.
“I don’t believe you.” She shrugged. Instead of taking offence, he threw his back and laughed.
She could not look away. He looked so carefree laughing like that. He was always grim and serious, and she had rarely seen him be at such ease. Sometimes, she got the idea that he had a lot of things, a lot of miseries hidden inside his chest.
“May I ask why you don’t believe me?” He asked mischievously placing his hand on the back of the car seat. It was almost touching her, but no, it was not really touching her. He knew how to respect her. She appreciated that a lot.
In the past even when she told men to back off, they kept trying to touch her. She felt disgusted when they did that. But he was being so gentle and respectful.
“You are only twenty-four.” She said. If he was some old man, she would have believed that was really the case. Seeing half of the world in such a short span of time was not a piece of cake.
He shook his head with a grin.
“Ever since I was born, I either accompanied my father or my grandpa in their trips. They travelled a lot. Since I also loved travelling from very early age, they took me with them. Most of the times, I could not go due to my school, but I still went with them whenever I could. When I got older, I made solo trips or planned trips with Mike.” He explained. It did make sense. She nodded. There was no need for him to lie to her. He was a billionaire who owned a jet. He could travel easily anywhere he liked.
It was great that some people had such privileges. There were people like her who did not go out of their town, let alone visit a different country.
But she was happy that he got an excited life. He must have always had something to look forward to.
“That’s great.” She responded politely and looked out of the window again. The city was so beautiful. The soft breeze that was hitting her skin was not hot at all although it was already month of August. The weather and the amazing scenery before her eyes were making her feel content.
The car took them inside a building that looked like a villa, complete out of a fairytale. The building was an antique one with beige color exterior. It was a double story and had big balconies. She was in love with it on first sight.
Wait! Did it mean they were going to live in the building? In such an exquisite villa?
The car stopped and the driver came out of the car getting their luggage and went to put them inside.
“We will spend our time here. This is my grandfather’s villa.” He shook his head with a smile. James was so reserved sometimes. If he knew he owned a villa there, he would have made his plan long ago.
Olivia controlled her expressions. His and his grandpa’s wealth shocked her despite the fact that she knew they were billionaires.
She got out of the car as Thomas went ahead. She took her time looking around. The villa was practically inside a huge garden. There were so many varieties of plants, flowers and trees. She inhaled deeply. It smelled like heaven.
She entered the villa after taking in her surroundings. The interior was as great as the exterior. The medium-sized yet modern kitchen and the modern drapes and design of the villa told a different story. The interior was as modern as it could get while the exterior of the building was more antique and had a fairytale vibe. His grandpa indeed had a good sense for houses. Their own house was not less than a royal movie site.
“You should rest for now. We will explore the city in the afternoon.” Thomas said, “Take any room that you like. I will be here.” He said pointing at a door that was beside the kitchen. She nodded and started looking around. After thinking for a while, she decided to look upstairs.
Thomas saw her walk away. He shook his head with a grin. She was so hesitant around her. There were three more rooms downstairs, but she probably wanted to be away from him. It was okay as long as she was happy.
He went to his room to take a shower and rest for a few hours. They already had their breakfast in the plane. He was full.
He took a shower and changed into a sleeveless sweatshirt and pants. He was about to throw himself on the bed when something hit her.
What if she was hungry? He did not even ask her if she needed anything. She was independent and liked to take care of herself, but it was his duty since she would be hesitant to ask him anything. He had noticed that she did not ask him for anything. He tried to provide her with everything by himself. He also could not ignore the hesitation when he transferred cash to her account or when he brought food at home.
He was that sensible to conclude that she was not used to being a taker. He wanted to tell her that she was not a taker in their case. It was Thomas who was grateful to her for doing him such a great favor. If he had his billionaire title intact, it was because of her.
He went upstairs to see if she wanted anything. He looked around trying to figure out which one of the room he had chosen. He was about to pass by a room when he heard some commotion inside that room. He knew it was her room.
He knocked at the door but there was no response. He was debating whether to enter or not since he remembered the incident which he was still guilty for.
He was about to knock again when she opened the door slightly. He could only look at her head. She had her head bent to the side and was looking at him with a blank expression. She was holding the door as if she was afraid he would come inside.
“I forgot to ask if you wanted anything.” He said coming to the point since he felt like he wanted him gone for some reason. The quick movement of her eyes and the way she was grabbing the door tightly told him the same thing.
“N-no. I don’t want anything.” She shook her head fervently. He found it strange.
“Okay. You can call me or come to my room if you need anything.” He said making her nod her head. He left her alone just like she wanted and went to his room. He could not understand the change in her behavior though.
On the other hand, she was glad he had left. She did not want him to see her in nothing but a lingerie.
“Damn you, Sana!” She cursed out loud.
She had given her best friend the task to pack her things since she had to go to her mom to see her before she left. She did not know trusting one’s friend would result into something miserable.
She had packed only lingerie for her in the name of nightdress. She knew what she wore in bed.
“I will kill you.” She thought and made a promise to herself to teach her a good lesson once she returned.
