Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Chapter 59: Holy fuck!

Andrea stared at her reflection in the mirror, and her little mouth formed a sad pout.

The image of Carmen flashed through her mind, even though she tried very hard not to let her thoughts wander there.

"She's good-looking, and her figure looks good too. I wonder why Sean doesn't like her." A sigh escaped her lips as she slumped on the couch languidly.

She relaxed her back on the couch with her head tilted to the side, and just then she heard Sean's voice and the sounds of footsteps approaching closer.

She quickly laid on the bed and buried her face in the quilt, her back facing the direction of the door.

Sean knocked on the door gently before coming in. "Aren't you ready yet?" He questioned her as he made his way over to the bed.

The lady in the sheets didn't move or say a word. Sean pulled the sheets from her face. "Are you sick?" He placed his hand on her forehead.

She remained silent with her eyes closed, trying to give him the impression she was fast asleep.

His lips curled into a smile as he noticed her lashes were quivering continuously. "Drop the act; I know you are well awake," he said calmly.

Andrea slowly opened her eyes as she let out a fake yawn before stretching her arms. "You are back?"

Sean shook his head in disbelief. He couldn't help but smile at her immature behavior. "Why aren't you ready yet?"

"Your fiancee came by today," Andrea said with a deadpan expression as she sat up on the bed.

"She won't bother you anymore," he assured her.

"What do you mean?" Andrea inquired, and he could sense the hint of jealousy in her tone.

"I already told our parents I can't get married to her because I have found the one I like."

On hearing this, Andrea's cheeks turned rosy. "Who is she?" She asked while playing with her bracelet.

"She's sitting right next to me." Andrea looked around, and a frown crept up her face when she noticed Pearl's doll right next to Sean.

"You mean that doll?" She half-yelled as she carved her brows at him.

Sean froze and took his gaze from her face. He turned to his other side, only to find a doll lying there.

Sean grabbed it and threw it to the ground. "What is that even doing there?" He muttered under his breath when he noticed Andrea's brows had knitted into a frown.

He rubbed the areas in between his brows. "Of course you know I'm not talking about the doll. I was referring to you,, my He paused, scanning his memory for a sweet name.

"Your what?" Andrea wrapped her arm around her chest as she demanded.

"My Andrea," he voiced out as he held onto her hand.

Andrea snorted loudly and withdrew her hand from his grip. "Haven't you ever said anything sweet to a lady before?"

Sean sighs silently. "I have never done this before. I promise to make it up to you. Let's forget about this; you should get ready," he said, placing a kiss on her forehead before leaving.

Andrea stared at the path he took for a while, and a smile crept up her lips. "Is he really serious about me?"

She put on a baby pink chiffon maxi dress with its shoulder slanted and pearls designed on its neck. Her hair was styled in a bun plait, with her earnings made from pearls dangling below her chin. She glanced at her reflection with a look of satisfaction on her face.

Andrea got into the car, buckled her seatbelt, and turned to Sean, only to find him with a bouquet of red roses.

"A beautiful flower for a gorgeous lady."

Andrea chuckled softly and took it from him. "When did you get this?" she asked sheepishly.

"I got them on my way from work. Do you like it?”

Andrea drew in a deep breath, taking in the fragrance of the fresh red roses. "It's so nice," she said with a radiant smile.

"I'm glad you like it." Sean flashed a smile at her, and she felt her heart skip a bit.

"Can you try to smile often?" Andrea blurted out her thoughts.

Sean, who was about to start the car, stopped and turned to her. "Really? What would I get in return? You know I never do things I will not benefit from.”

Andrea grinned. "What is it that you possibly want from me?" She questioned him eagerly.

"It's very simple. I want a kiss from you," he stated as a smirk formed on his lips.

Their eyes connected as they both remained silent, and suddenly Andrea leaned in with her gaze, travelling down to his lips. She inched closer, and suddenly, she tilted her head and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

" Done. You have to keep your promise," she winked at him.

"But that wasn't a kiss..."

"Uh uh. You never stated the kind you wanted, and I just did whatever came to my mind."

"You are such a little cheat."

She placed her finger on his lips. "I played fair and square. Don't you dare go back on your words now.”

Sean shook his head in disbelief. "So smart," he muttered as he started the car.

The car screeched to a halt outside a restaurant made up of sleek glass that paved the entire facade of the building. They walked shoulder to shoulder into the fancy-looking restaurant.

Immediately after she stepped in, she was left in awe. The interior design was top-notch, with a mixture of traditional and modern styling, from the grandiose chandeliers with sparkling crystal elements that reflected light beautifully to the opulent marble flooring that screams elegance and luxury.

It looked so quiet and relaxing that one would think there was no one in there. The customers looked courteous and refined; from a glance, she could tell they were important dignitaries.

Sean ushered her to a secluded corner with the fewest people seated there. "I know you don't like being in the spotlight," he voiced out as he pulled a seat for her like a gentleman.

She giggled sweetly as she took her seat, and Sean took the seat right opposite hers.

"I hope you will be ready soon. I can't wait to announce to everyone that you are my woman," he said, passing the menu to her casually.

His words softened her heart as she stared at him with a tender gaze. "Sean, why are you this sweet to me?"

"Because your happiness matters to me, silly," he said, pulling her nose.

"Hey, can't you just stop being annoying, even for a sec? You just ruined our emotional moment," she said, screwing up her face in annoyance.

Sean touched his nose awkwardly. "You can order whatever you like," he said, pointing at the menu right in front of her.

Andrea picked it up, and as she flipped through it, she thought back to the day she found out about Lisa and Philip's relationship. It was just a night like this one; she was happy and couldn't wait to start a new chapter of her life with the guy she used to love.

Sean noticed she was in a daze, and he tapped her lightly, jolting her from her sorrowful thoughts.

"What is wrong?"

Andrea squeezed on a smile and closed the menu. "I will have whatever you want."

"Oh, if that's the case, why don't you have me for dinner instead?" Sean said it with a smug look.

"You are so shameless!" Andrea's cheeks flushed red immediately.

He snapped his finger, and the waiter nearby sauntered over to their table "Get us this." After showing the waiter what he wanted on the menu, he turned his gaze back to Andrea.

"You look lovely tonight."

Andrea relaxed her chin on her hand. "Oh my God! I must say you are quite a fast learner. I only complained about you an hour ago, and now you are a completely different Mr. Wilson, not that grumpy man you used to be. I'm impressed," she complimented.

Sean didn't know what to say; he felt like she had insulted and complimented him at one time. Luckily, the waiter came over with a tray and placed it on the table.

Andrea noticed Sean had picked up the cutlery on the table. She pouted her lips at him. "Can't you even keep up with the pretence until we get home? Haven't you heard about the saying ladies first?'

The waitress who came over with a bottle of champagne couldn't help but chuckle. "Ma'am, your husband ordered a couple sets," she explained, and just then Sean shot her a deadly glare.

"Is this part of your job? Did she ask you? If you still want to work here, I advise you to get out of my sight right now,” he said in an icy voice.

"I'm so sorry, sir and ma'am, for interrupting your date." She bowed slightly before walking away dejectedly.

"Did you have to be so mean to the poor girl?" Andrea let out a sigh.

"Don't expect me to be nice to anyone who isn't you or my kids," he said unceremoniously as he picked up the cutlery and cut the steakes into small pieces.

He brought the fork to her lips. "Here, tell me how it tastes."

Andrea opened up and chewed on it for a while, savoring its flavor before swallowing it. "Not bad," she mumbled.

'Not bad?' he repeated what she had said with a baffled look.

Andrea blinked innocently as she nodded her head. 'I think I cook better than this," she added.

Sean snickered and lowered his head to the food. "You wish!"

Andrea burst out laughing. "Oh, please, this is the food you have been singing praises of for the past few hours. Do you think it's better than the food I made for you the previous day?”

He cleared his throat slightly. "Your cooking is good."

"I want a straight answer from you. Yes or no,” Andrea said, emphasising each word.

Sean decided to remain silent, as he could feel the tension rising at their table.

" What? You can't speak? So you think the food is better than mine? It's unique because of this nonsense." Andrea stuck her hand into the food and threw the mint leaves on the table.

"Get up! We are leaving right away. I will prepare you dinner myself, and you must have all of it," she said through gritted teeth.

Sean was dumbfounded and felt embarrassed under the onlookers' gazes, which were now on their table.

Without waiting for him any longer, Andrea made her way out of the restaurant. Sean sighs silently as he gets up and goes to the counter quickly to make the payment before leaving.

On their drive home, Andrea gazed out of the window with a hardened expression on her face. The car came upon a midnight club where a large crowd had gathered, causing Sean to stop the car.

"What's wrong with these people? What are they turning the city into?" Sean said furiously as he repeatedly honked the horn of the car.

"Holy fuck!" Andrea exclaimed in shock, her eyes glued to the window.
