Chapter 58: Chapter 58

Chapter 58: Is it Sean's?

Hearing this, Carmen's eyes sparkled with joy. "Really? You will do this for me? Thank you so much, Drew. This means a lot to me," she beamed as she wiped her tears from the corner of her eyes.

A loud sigh escaped his lips. "I'm only doing this because you are a good person. Well, it's a long story. I think you need to sit down to listen to this."

They both settled down in the car, and Drew narrated the whole story to Carmen, and her eyes enlarged from shock.

She was lost for words for a moment before composing herself. "Drew, can you help me with the lady's address?" Carmen pleaded in a pitiful tone.

"I can't; what if the boss finds out and I end up losing my job?" Drew said, standing firmly on his ground. He didn't have the audacity to taste Sean's abilities; with just a snap of his finger, he could even get him killed without anyone finding out.

"I understand. Thank you for this information." She smiled faintly before getting out of the car.

******

"Thinking about me?" Sean said immediately that he picked up the call.

”Mhm, you are the only one that has been on my mind lately."

"I'm feeling the same way. How about this? I will be back home soon, and we will go out for dinner." Sean's deep voice sounded at the other end of the line.

A flush crept up her face. "Ah! Mr. Wilson, you mean a date?" Her lips curled up into a smile.

"Yes, a date. I will hang up now. I need to make reservations."

"I will be expecting you soon. Bye," she hung up as she plopped herself down on the couch.

Before she could head upstairs to choose a dress for tonight, she heard the sound of the doorbell, and her expression closed up.

Ever since she moved into the house with Sean, they had never welcomed any guests. "Who is it?" Andrea yelled as she made her way to the door.

She got no answer, and out of curiosity, she opened the door only to find a young lady at the doorstep.

"Who are you?" Andrea asked vigilantly as she stared at the lady in front of her, who was in blue jeans and a brown beige jacket that sheltered her body.

"I am here to see Sean." Carmen couldn't help but scoff loudly as she glanced at her.

She had high expectations from Sean, with the thought that the lady he had picked interest in would be way prettier than she could ever be, even if she decided to have plastic surgery done. But to her utmost surprise, the lady in front of her had a simple look.

"He is not currently at home. Who are you?" Andrea asked.

"I am Sean's fiancee. I'm sure he must have told you about me. I'm Carmen Wallner," she said in a proud tone as she placed a lock of her hair behind her ear.

"Okay, what do you want?” Andrea said it unceremoniously.

Carmen's features contorted as she observed Andrea, who didn't seem affected by her words in any way.

She glared at her viciously. "I want you to stay away from Sean."

They kept staring at each other until Agnes walked over to the door with Ruby in her arms. "Ma'am, is everything alright?" she asked, and her gaze landed on Carmen.

Carmen's expression turned grim as she stared at the baby in Agnes' arm. She blinked rapidly, thinking her eyes might be playing tricks on her after observing that the baby looked quite like Sean.

"Give her to me." Andrea took Ruby from Agnes before going back into the house.

The door was slammed shut, leaving the baffled Carmen outside.

"That baby, is it Sean's?" she asked herself even after fully knowing the answer.

Her jaw dropped slightly as her lower lip quivered. She held her head, and her tears came streaming down her cheeks freely.

She then thought back to Drew, wondering why he never mentioned the lady had a child for Sean.

Her ringing tone broke her out of her daze. "Mom!" Carmen called out weakly.

She felt like the sudden revelation had drained all the blood in her body.

"Carmen, can you please come to Wilson's residence right away?"

"Mom, what's wrong?" Carmen asked in a hoarse voice.

"Is it true that Sean is no longer getting married to you?" Mrs. Wallner questioned her furiously.

Carmen's expression darkened immediately. "Mom, I will be there in a bit." She hung up as she drew in a sharp breath.

…….

Arriving at the entrance of the Crescent Wood Mansion, Carmen's heart beat accelerated even faster as she stepped into the house. She walked straight into the living room, where she found both of their parents and Sean seated on the couch, patiently waiting for her.

As her footsteps resounded in the room, everyone turned in her direction.

"Carmen, thank goodness you are here. Tell me, child, what's going on between the both of you?" Mrs. Wilson asked, forcing a smile.

Carmen looked at Sean, hoping he would say something. Even after feeling betrayed, she couldn't get mad at him because of the feelings she had for him over the years.

"Why are you asking her? Haven't I explained it to you, Mom?" Sean glared at his mother.

"You have spoken your side of the story. I want to hear from Carmen," Mrs. Wilson fired back at him.

"Aunt, what can I say? Sean has refused to get married to me after he took me for the first time, and today I found out something about your son. I bet you also have no idea." Carmen let out a mirthless laugh.

All she wanted at that moment was to pour her mind out to everyone, thinking no one could express her agony.

Mrs. Wilson stared at Sean with bugging eyes; she never expected Sean to get intimate with Carmen.

"What are you talking about? Stop crying, dear; tell us what Sean is hiding from us," Mrs. Wallner demanded with a puzzled look.

"Sean has a mistress and a kid," she stuttered in between her tears.

Everyone gasped in shock as their gaze travelled back to Sean, who was looking calm and collected. Anyone who might not be familiar with Sean might think he was not the topic of discussion.

"Carmen, what are you talking about? If you don't want to get married to Sean, that's fine, but you don't have to go to this length," Mrs. Wilson said.

"Will you remain silent? Speak up! Are you ashamed to tell them you are disgusting and a cheat?" Carmen yelled at him in a hoarse voice.

"You can't even defend yourself, mom, dad, aunt, uncle; I'm just coming from the place Sean kept that slut he has been sleeping with."

’ Enough!" Sean roared angrily as he rose to his feet, and with a severe look, he stared at everyone present.

"If you ever call her a slut, Carmen, I promise to plug out those eyes of yours," he threatened as he drilled her with his glare.

"Son, do you mean Carmen is telling the truth? You have a kid?" Mrs. Wilson stuttered with a stupid look.

"Yes, I'd have kids."

"Kids?" they all chorused as their jaws slackened.

Even Carmen, who broke the news to everyone, was dumbfounded. She had only met Ruby at the door and didn't know Sean had more than one kid.

"And you know what? I was about to announce this to everyone, but since Carmen brought up the topic, I will tell you about it."

"I have someone I really like and two beautiful daughters," he said unceremoniously.

Camen clapped her hands together as she cackled loudly. "That's not all. After I found out about Sean's secret lover, I couldn't help but dig in information about her, and I found out she's an Australian lady who is known as the illegitimate daughter of the Graham's, a family who used to be rich in the past before their company crumbled down completely. I heard it's because she's inauspicious from birth.”

Mrs. Wilson was already foaming with anger. "What nonsense is this, Sean? You think I will accept her as my daughter-in-law? Of all the ladies in the world, you had to bring in a lady who is illegitimate and inauspicious at the same time,” she snickered.

"Even if she's illegitimate or whatever, isn't she a person? As if I asked for your opinion, I genuinely like her very much, and I'm the one spending my life with her, not you or Dad. You two have been pestering me for a grandchild, and here I have finally given you two."

Mrs. Wilson burst out laughing like she had just heard the silliest joke on earth: "I can't accept anyone who isn't Carmen. She's the one I had chosen for you."

" Carmen, I hope you don't mind. You still love my Sean, right? Don't worry, I won't let that vixen and his kids come between you two."

Mr. Wallner, who had been silent all this while, finally spoke up: "I can't let my daughter get married to your son any longer, and Sean, I never expected this from you. I always thought you were responsible, but unfortunately I was wrong." He got up and strided out with anger seething within him.

"Fiona, will you also leave like that? Don't worry about the kids; I will personally keep them with me; they won't interfere in Sean's and Carmen's marriage."

"Do you think I want this for my only daughter? What about Carmen? No one, not even Sean, will care about the kids she will have for him in the future. I'm sure you must be glad you finally have what you always wanted. Have fun, grandma," Mrs. Wallner said as she left with Carmen.

Sean also got up and said, "Since everything is settled, I will be bringing Andrea and the kids to meet you two soon. I need to leave now; she must be waiting for me,’ he said, glancing at his watch casually.

"Have you lost it, son? What spell did she cast on you? Can't you see what just happened now?" Mrs. Wilson screamed at him.

"Relax; if you keep yelling like this, you will have to consider taking your drugs." Mr. Wilson patted her gently.

"Bye, don't fight. Take care of yourselves." With that, Sean walked out of the house.
