Chapter 56: Chapter 56
Chapter 56: Are you spying on me again?
She was putting on a wine red satin dress with medium high waist and a v-neck, her cinnamon coloured hair was styled in a waterfall braids that fell on her back freely with a matching silver purse and heels. Her diamond earrings looked dazzling, and from a glance, Sean could vividly recognize them after all; they came from their store.
Carmen was giving off a combination of fashion and sexiness; even Sean couldn't go against his conscience that she didn't look gorgeous tonight.
"Should we?" she said bashfully as she placed the lock of her hair behind her ear.
Sean nodded, and they walked towards the hall. She kept stealing glances at him, not
able to contain her inner joy. Immediately after they got to the entrance, Carmen quickly interlocked her arm with Sean's.
They went into the thoroughly decorated hall, filled with guests from prominent families and people from the business domain. Carmen could hear the whispers of the onlookers under their envious gazes. She let out a charming smile, feeling content.
Sean ignored the ladies who were staring intensely at him like a lion seeing its prey. He disengaged from Carmen, walking towards Adam Morrison and his daughter Melissa.
"Happy birthday, Mrs. Leo," he said nonchalantly as he handed her a box.
"Happy Birthday, Melissa! It's great to see you celebrating another year of life." Carmen said this behind Sean with a warm smile.
"Thank you, Mr. Wilson and Ms. Wallner, for honouring my invitation and congratulations. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it to your engagement party. Please enjoy yourselves," she beamed as she sipped from her glass of wine.
Carmen chuckled awkwardly, recalling what Sean had said the other day.
Just then, Quinn walked over and wrapped his arms around his wife's waist, placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Oh, hello, Mr. Wilson," he smiled at him.
Sean ignored his existence totally, like he didn't hear or see anyone. He wondered why Melissa was still together with him after the news of Quinn went viral.
"Mr. Wilson, can we have a brief discussion about the project?" Mr. Morrison said, noticing how awkward the atmosphere has gotten.
Sean nodded as they walked away to an area with fewer people in the hall.
Melissa sighs loudly with her gaze on Sean. "You must be feeling extra special that Sean chose you to be his life partner. You know, back then, before I got married, I tried courting him, but the arrogant man rejected me callously."
Carmen scanned the hall, and her gaze also landed on Sean, who was speaking to Adam Morrison. She gulped down her saliva barely, knowing Sean never chose her and she had to use one of her devious ways to get him.
All though all her efforts went down the drain, Sean decided he didn't want to go through with the marriage any longer.
"Excuse me," she said, forcing a smile before walking away to the buffet area.
Carmen's phone made a beep sound, and she brought it out of her purse.
"Carmen, you need to see this," she read inwardly as she clicked on a link that directed her to pictures of Sean from the club last night.
Last night I was lucky to be at the club where Sean Wilson got into a fight with a guy, all because of a lady. I couldn't get a good view of the lady's face, but we all know this isn't Ms. Wallner based on her body figure and dressing style. Sean lost it all last night, but luckily his friend Sonny was present to stop him from killing the guy. What do you think about this? Do you think Sean Wilson is having an affair with someone else?
Carmen's hands began to tremble; she squeezed a smile as she replied to the message.
"This is no big deal; the guy might be harassing the poor lady, and Sean stepped in to help her. You know Sean always respects ladies, no matter how rude or grumpy he is."
After sending the message, she glanced at the pictures one more time before putting her phone back in her purse. She noticed Sean was done with his discussion so she quickly went over to him
"I see you got into a fight last night. I hope you weren't hurt." She asked agitatedly.
"How did you find out? Are you spying on me again?
She shook her head strenuously as she quickly fumbled for her phone inside her purse. "Take a look; I found it here."
Sean took the phone from her, and his expression darkened as he looked at the pictures and video of him punching Philip. Luckily, Andrea's face wasn't clearly displayed on it.
Melissa walked up to them with her husband. "Come on, Mr. Wilson, and Ms. Wallner, don't just stand there. Come on, let's dance.
Carmen's eyes twinkled with excitement as she looked at Sean passionately, waiting for him to answer.
He shook his head. "You can carry on," he said unceremoniously.
"It's my birthday, and you are at my party. Can't you even do this for me? Daddy, look, Mr. Wilson is refusing," she quickly pulled her father over.
Mr. Adam Morrison, who was passing by, was stunned. He glanced at Sean and didn't know how to approach him. He might be older than him, but Sean always had a very intimidating aura emanating from him.
Sean sighed silently. He took Carmen's hand and guided her to the dance floor. He tapped his hand around her waist. Carmen felt her cheeks flush red as she wrapped her arm around his neck.
Carmen couldn't hear or see anyone during that period; all she could see was the good-looking man in front of her and the cool background music playing. She felt like snuggling in his warm embrace and taking in his manly scent.
Just then, Jacob Jones made his way in, putting on a black tailored suit that fitted his figure perfectly. From his expression, anyone who could see could tell he wasn't pleased to be here. As the only child of the family who refused to take on his father's computer and chose to run an entertainment industry, the only favour he could do for him is to attend all these kinds of events.
After congratulating the celebrant, he found a seat for himself. He couldn't wait to disappear from here. To pass time, he brought out his phone and saw the message sent by Andrea.
"I'm sorry I made you feel that way. I have been very busy, and I just got back from Florida last night," he replied.
..........
Hearing the buzzing sound from her phone, Andrea briskly picked it up beside her, thinking Sean must have been the one who sent her a message.
Her excitement quenched, realising it wasn't him but Jacob Jones.
She smiled faintly and replied, "You must be very tired. You should get some rest, and I bet you will be feeling refreshed by dawn."
"I wish I could do that, but I'm at a birthday party right now," he said, attaching a picture.
She tapped on it, and she felt her heart sink deeply. As she zoomed in on the people behind her, she could see Sean and a lady dancing; she couldn't deny the fact that they looked pretty good together.
"Is that Mr. Wilson behind?" She couldn't help but ask.
"Yes, he's also here with his fiancee."
"Oh," she gulped down her saliva, and she felt a wave of anger and jealousy wash over her.
She recalled Sean asking her to come with him, and when she refused, he told her he would be going alone, yet he went with his fiancee.
"I won't bother calling you again," she muttered under her breath.
She glanced at the wall clock and realised it was already 10 p.m. She went upstairs with the intention of taking a nap.
Her gaze landed on the walk-in closet, and she brought out a black pair of jeans, a black T-shirt, and a baseball cap. She smiled with satisfaction as she changed into her pajamas. She quickly tied up her hair in a messy bun before putting on her cap.

She put on a face mask and got out of the car, staring at the huge gate in front of her. She pouted her lips as she crossed her arm over her chest.
"How do I go in?" She mumbled, relaxing her back on the car languidly.
"Should I give Sean a call? If he comes out to see me, what do I say to him?"
Realizing the tight security at the gate, Andrea began to realize how foolish she had acted. She drove all the way from the villa to this place in the night just to see Sean, who would be back home soon.
"Did I really come here to see and apologize to Sean, or is it something more?" She said it inwardly and quickly got rid of the thoughts before they could remain in her head.
She was about to leave disappointedly when suddenly someone emerged from the gate, and her eyes widened, realizing it was Sean. Their eyes met, and Andrea averted her gaze and turned around before he could recognize her.
Andrea took a deep breath, reminding herself that her disguise was perfect and he wouldn't be able to tell it was her. Before she could get into the car, he called out to her.
" Andrea! What are you doing here??
She froze as her gaze flickered, and without turning around to face him, she shook her head and waved in dismissal.
"Quit the act now and turn around."
Andrea almost burst into tears. She slowly turned around and noticed he was just a few meters away from her.
Sean looked around and noticed there were only a few people outside. He got into the front passenger seat, and Andrea got into the driver's seat reluctantly.
Sean took off her mask as he pursed his lips in annoyance. "Really? It's almost 11 p.m.What are you doing here??
She bit her lip as she lowered her gaze to the steering "Oh Lord, what do I say now?" Her heart was racing faster than a cheetah chasing its prey. Her palm became moist along with her blank mind. After taking a deep breath, she gathered her courage and spoke up.
" I.... I wanted to apologize to you. I called you multiple times today, but you didn't return any of my calls," she voiced out nervously.
Sean smiled. "Is that enough reason for you to come find me?"
Andrea took off her baseball cap and itched her scalp awkwardly, still remaining silent.
"Look, I asked you if you had wanted to come with me, and you refused. I was ready to...
"But you told me you were going alone only for me to find out that you came here with your fiancee," she said, sounding wrong.
"How did you know?"
"I have my ways," Andrea said, looking away from him.
"All I have to say is that Carmen's father is someone I truly respect, and he personally asked me to take her to the party, yet I had come to ask you if you would love to come with me."
"If I had said yes, would you have disregarded his request and taken me with you instead?" She asked as she carved her brows.
Sean nodded in affirmation.
Andrea gulped down her saliva. "Actually, the reason I refused is that I don't want to make things hard for you. If you had brought me here, you would have received millions of questions from a lot of people, and they might have begun to formulate stories from them. I mean, what we have isn't defined; it's not like you could ever tell anyone I'm your mistress."
"Why don't we define what we have? I don't want to wait any longer. I want to be the one who gives you all the happiness you deserve. I never saw you as my mistress in the first place; I only did all that so you would come stay with me," he said with an affectionate gaze as he held onto her hand.
