Chapter 53: Chapter 53
Chapter 53: Am I not allowed to watch TV?
" Ah! What are you doing? I don't have an idea of what you are saying," she mumbled, placing her palm on his sturdy chest as a barrier, denying him from coming any closer.
”You are playing dumb with me, aren't you?” he said, caressing her hair with his fingers.
Andrea pouted her lips.” I want to go to bed now.”
”Oh really? Are you done watching your drama?” He slowly let go of her as he straightened up.
Andrea got to her feet and placed a lock of her hair behind her ear as she looked away from Sean bashfully.
Sean sat down on the couch with his legs crossed on the other. He grabbed her hand and yanked her due to the impact her butt landed on the couch.
"Come on,I will watch it with you. It looks interesting," he said, pointing to the TV.
’Do you watch TV too?” She said it just above a whisper.
”Why not? Am I not allowed to watch TV?” He inquired curiously.
Andrea smiled faintly and shook her head. ”That's not what I mean; you are a very busy man. I'm just so amazed that you have time to watch TV."
”Of course I do," he coughed awkwardly.
Only the light from the TV screen illuminated the dim room. Andrea stole glances at him; his side profile revealed his pointed nose and lashes that kept fluttering like feathers falling gently to the ground. He was so good-looking at that moment that she could dedicate her whole day to staring at his face.
”What is your favourite drama or movie?" She stated this after snapping out of her thoughts.
Sean froze and began to cough violently.” I can't choose; they are all very interesting, you know."
”Oh yeah, who is your favourite character in this drama?” Andrea said it with a smile.
Sean looked away from her as he widened his eyes. ”What should I say?” He thought inwardly, rubbing his forehead.
Andrea giggled sweetly. ”Just ignore my unending questions. I'm so in love with this movie that I can't control myself," she gushed.
Sean snorted inwardly. ”Why don't you fall madly in love with me instead?” He said it inwardly.
”This is your favourite drama? What a coincidence! Mine too," he said nonchalantly.
”But you just said you can't choose your favourite movie," she said, blinking with feigned innocence.
" Yeah. I just thought about it, and then I realised this is my favourite drama of all time."
For real? She said it with bulging eyes, like they were about to come out of their sockets.
Sean nodded with a smug smile on his face.
”Who would have ever thought that you were a big fan of JJ Entertainment?” Andrea beamed happily.
”What?” Sean rose to his feet immediately with a dumbfounded expression on his face.
" What? Are you shocked? You think you can lie to me, and I won't find out.” she snickered.
”How dare you fool me! Enough, get to bed," he said, quickly switching off the TV.
”I can't seem to fall asleep; just let me watch it. He is your rival, not mine," Andrea said, crossing her arms over her chest.
” Oh really? For your information everything about him is forbidden in this house, even his name. Got it?”
”Fine, then I want to leave; I never wanted to be here anyway.” A tear dropped from her eye immediately.
Sean felt deeply hurt by her words, and seeing her tears crushed him even harder. He wanted her to adjust to staying here and getting used to him, but he felt he made everything worse by yelling at her.
”Goodnight," she mumbled before going up the stairs. Not until she got into her room did the thoughts of her and Sean sharing a room travel into her mind. She slowly opened the door to take a quick peek but couldn't find any signs of him.
”Relax, Andrea," she chanted as she sat by the end of the bed, her gaze not leaving the door.
An hour passed, her gaze still glued to the door. ”Why is he not here yet? Should I check? Do I have any bad sleeping habits?” She ruffled her hair in frustration as different kinds of thoughts flashed through her mind.
She bit her finger, pacing back and forth in the room. Suddenly she heard a brisk knock on the door, making her jerk in fear.
”Come in,”
Sean came into view, holding an envelope. As he walked over to her, she noticed he had changed into a plain shirt and comfy pants.
”Here," Sean said, passing the brown envelope to her.
She brought out the contents of the envelope. To her utmost surprise, it was some papers, a key, and a black card.
”I wanted to give you this earlier, but luckily you are still awake. These are the papers for this house. It's in your name; I will ask Drew to bring your car tomorrow, and as for the card, you can use it to get whatever you want, he said unceremoniously.
Her lips parted slightly, and before she could speak, he quickly interrupted Andrea. "I won't take no for an answer. It's yours already."
She gulped down her saliva and nodded.
"I don't want your appreciation either."
He stopped her before she could even speak up.
"Goodnight," he said about leaving the room, and he noticed she was staring out the window.
"Something wrong?" he asked.
”No, I'm just having a hard time falling asleep. I should check on the kids."
”You should come with me then," he said as he walked out of her room.
Andrea froze for a while before putting on her black mink coat and going after him.
Minutes later, they were already on their way out of the villa. "Where are you taking me?" she queried as she blinked owlishly.
Sean drove slowly and suddenly looked at her and said, "Relax; I'm not going to sell you off just yet. Is there anywhere you would like to visit?"
"Sure, I would like to visit the golden corner; do you know where... wait... what? Just yet?" She said it, her bright eyes bulging with fright.
Sean noticed her face had turned slightly pale.” Don't you know a joke?" he hastily said before she could suffer from a panic attack in vain.
”I will take you there," said Sean as he drove towards the route.
She stared at the beautifully lit street, her eyes twinkling with interest. Andrea rolled down the window. The cold wind swept her hair backward, engulfing her entirely. She relaxed her back on the leather seats. The humming sounds of the engine felt like therapy to her ears. She shut her eyes, grateful for the opportunity to flee from her restless life for a while. She drew in a deep breath; the air was filled with nothing but serenity.
A radiant smile found its way to her face. She couldn't recall the last time she did something so energising. At this moment, Andrea had the sentiment that she could face any adversity life throws at her.
Sean, who noticed this, couldn't help but smile along. He didn't want to be among the ones who hurt her; he hoped he could give her all the happiness she deserved.
Andrea observed that the car had come to a halt. She looked out the window and noticed they were already at their destination. This made her begin to wonder why good things never last.
They both got out of the car, and luckily the place was still accessible. They went in and took a seat, her gaze not leaving the sleek glass that made up the entire facade of the building.
Sean, who noticed this, cleared his throat slightly. "Why did you choose here, and what are you staring at?" he inquired, following her gaze.
A sigh left her lips. "The reason I told you to bring me here was because I wanted to see my college for the last time. I heard it was sold out recently to a company."
Sean's body stiffened as he unglued his eyes from the building. ' I will be back. Let me make a quick call,' he said, hiding his hands in his pocket before going outside.
She nodded, staring at his figure through the sleek glass. ’Mr. Wilson isn't that bad after all," she said smilingly.
Immediately after Sean got out, he gave Drew a call, which got connected. ”Remember the building we bought a few months ago opposite the Golden Corner?"
"Yes boss,"
”Get it demolished first thing tomorrow," his voice raked with disdain.
After knowing Andrea and her ex-boyfriend Philip attended the same college, there is no way she didn't think about him the moment she stared at the building.
If it were in his power, he would gladly get rid of anything or any place Andrea and Philip had memories of together.
He shifted his angry glare at the building, thinking that if it had never existed, Andrea and Philip would have never met and fallen in love.
