Chapter 51: Chapter 51
Chapter 51: Mr. Wilson is so domineering!
'Thud! Thud!'
The sounds of someone knocking on the door resounded in the bedroom. Andrea whizzed as she shielded her ears with the fluffy-looking pillows.
"Just go away," she mumbled above a whisper.
She felt like strangling the person at the door if not for the circumstance that she was suffering from jet lag.
The never-stopping sounds continued, and Andrea ran out of patience as both Ruby and Pearl burst into tears in unison. She summoned her last strength and managed to get out of bed as a growl escaped her mouth.
"Ma'am!"
She sauntered over and unlocked the door.
"Good morning, ma'am," the housekeeper said, bowing slightly.
Andrea rubbed her eyes groggily, waiting for her to speak up.
'Ma'am, breakfast is ready, and the nanny is here."
"Nanny?" Andrea repeated as she cocked a brow.
The housekeeper bobbed her head while maintaining a smile on her face. "I thought Sir had informed you about it."
"It's fine; you can go; I will be down in a bit," Andrea voiced out, slamming the door.
An hour or so later, she came downstairs with the twins. She found a lady and the housekeeper conversing; immediately her presence was noticed, and they both became mute.
"This is our Madam," the housekeeper introduced her to the lady.
"Good morning, ma'am; I'm Agnes," she said with a slight bow.
Andrea nodded in acknowledgement.
"I'm the nanny Mr. Wilson hired to take care of the kids," she said, flashing a polite smile at her.
"It's nice meeting you, Agnes. So do you live in this city? Andrea suddenly questioned
She paused before shaking her head vigorously. "No, ma'am, I came from a small town in Sedona. I only came to New York recently in search of a job."
" Ah!" Andrea nodded and was about to walk away when she suddenly stopped.
"Agnes, can you hold them for a while?"
Her arms were hurting, and she couldn't find the strength to carry on.
"Of course. After all, it's my job." She took Ruby and Pearl from their mother.
"Madam, your babies are so cute and chubby," she said with a smile, her gaze not leaving the twins, who were staring at their mom.
Andrea laughed, ” Babies, I will be back, okay?” she said to them in a coquettish tone.
She could hear her stomach rumbling; she perceived the aroma of freshly made pancakes, and she couldn't help but follow the scent that led her to the kitchen.
Immediately the chefs noticed her presence, they all greeted
"Good morning, ma'am," they chorused.
" Morning, Where is Mr. Wilson? Did he come home last night?" She asked, and they all shook their heads.
"Oh," Andrea mumbled slowly.
" Ma'am, We made pancakes for breakfast. Is there something you would like us to specially make for you?" The head chef inquired.
Andrea shook her head. "No pancakes are fine by me," she beamed before going out of the kitchen.
After breakfast, Andrea gave Mr. Wilson a call; the phone kept ringing for a long while until it got disconnected. She kept trying multiple times but got the same result.
She was about to leave the room when her phone began to ring. She quickly picked it up from the bed without realising how much she was smiling. Glancing at the caller ID, her smile grew wider.
"Hi, why didn't you tell me about the nanny?" She inquired after picking up.
"Since when did I start coming to you to ask permission?" He replied with a question.
"Okay, then, why didn't you pick up my calls all this time?'
"I was in a meeting; that's why I couldn't pick up. I can ask the driver to bring you over; on your way, bring me some lunch; I haven't eaten anything."
The corners of her lips twitched slightly. "Hey, I didn't even agree to it yet, and you are already talking about lunch?"
"I never asked for your opinion. It's an order," he said before hanging up.
"Mr. Wilson is so domineering! I blame my foolish self for giving him a call," Andrea said angrily.

Sean walked straight to the dining room and found his parents having breakfast with Carmen.
"Come join us for breakfast, son," Mrs. Wilson said, chewing on her stake.
"I'm afraid I don't have time for that; I only came to check up on dad, and I see he's doing fine. " Sean spoke in a cold tone as he drilled Carmen with his deadly gaze.
Carmen, who noticed this, lowered her head to the table, and her hand gripping the fork began to tremble uncontrollably.
Immediately after Sean's figure disappeared, she touched her forehead and realised how much she had been sweating under his penetrating gaze. She heaved a sigh of relief; she never in her whole life knew she would be this scared of anyone.
'That's strange! Carmen, did you and Sean get into a fight?"
Mrs. Wilson couldn't help but ask. She knew how Carmen always behaved around Sean, but she noticed her indifferent behaviour towards him.
Carmen was at a loss for words.
"It's okay, dear; I understand; it's natural for couples to get into a dispute. You should go to him and try to sort things out." Mrs. Wilson smiled at her before lowering her head back to her meal.
Carmen thought about what Mrs. Wilson said to her for a while. She pressed her lips together in a slightly tensed manner.
"Aunty, can I take lunch for Sean?" She asked.
" That's so thoughtful of you, dear; of course you can." Mrs. Wilson gave her a light pat on the hand.
..........
Sean walked into his office and found Sonny playing on his phone with his legs crossed on the table.
"Get those dirty legs off my table," Sean said unceremoniously.
Sonny averted his gaze from his phone. "Is this how you notify a person about your presence? he said, a little displeased by Sean's behaviour.
"How else do you expect me to react?' He pulled Sonny up from his seat impatiently.
"Hey, don't get my shirt dirty. I have a date later tonight." He protested with a smug smile.
"You are not getting any younger; I think it's high time you find a lady that you are willing to spend the rest of your life with," Sean said, still maintaining a poker face.
Sonny burst into laughter. "Stop sounding like my old man! Are you really Sean? I didn't expect this from you. A man who can't win a woman's heart," he said mockingly.
Sean snickered "What do you know? Did you think I came back to New York just like that? Andrea and the twins are currently with me," he said in a proud tone.
Sonny shook his head in disbelief. "No way. I would like to meet her."
"Not happening," Sean said almost immediately.
" Why? It's not like I'm going to snatch her from you."
Sean snickered," In your dreams! What gave you the guts to say that?"
They were still bickering with one another when Carmen barged into the office with puffy eyes.
Both of them turned around in unison and asked, "What do you want?"
"Sonny, excuse us; I would like to speak to Sean privately."
Sonny scoffed before rising to his feet. He walked over to her and said," Someone keeps bothering a person who doesn't even care about their existence.’’ He shot her a look before walking out.
Carmen tightened her fist tightly until her knuckles turned white.
" Sean, I came here to apologise to you; I shouldn't have asked someone to spy on you during your stay in Australia, and you are my fiance; I shouldn't have suspected you were cheating on me," said Carmen as she wiped her invisible tears from her face.
Sean let out a mirthless laugh. "How is this related to what you did? Have you lost your memory on your way here? How could you toil with someone's job that I have nothing to do with in the first place?"
After pondering the matter for a while, he realised that if Carmen hadn't made Elena lose her job, Andrea would have never come with him in the first place. That was the only reason he didn't create a big fuss or make her pay for it.
Sean is the type who never takes a step or does something he would never profit from. This was one of his qualities that made him a successful businessman.
"That's my point, Sean; if I hadn't thought that you were cheating on me, I wouldn't have let my jealousy get the better of me," she said as she burst into tears.
"Why are you crying just yet? You should better save those tears for later." Sean said this casually as he played with the pen in his hand.
Carmen's gaze flickered. ’’ What do you mean? I said I'm sorry and I won't do it again, I promise," she said in a hoarse voice.
"That's not what I mean. What I'm trying to say is that I'm calling off the wedding."
"What type of joke is this? How can you even say this? You suddenly postponed our wedding, and I was fine with it, and now you are calling it off? Our wedding is just two weeks away, and what do you expect me to tell everyone?" She said it in a shaky voice as she held her head like she was about to lose her mind.
Just then, they heard a knock on the door before it was pushed open, revealing his secretary.
"What is it?" Sean demanded calmly as he touched the area between his brows.
" Sir, A lady, Ms. Andrea, is here to see you."
