Chapter 40: Chapter 40
Chapter 40: I can't even wait for a sec.
Sean glared at her angrily. What do you mean?" he demanded, his gaze not leaving her face.
"I'm sorry. I can't take this gift from you, Mr. Wilson; it's just too much," she said, pressing her lips together.
"Let me ask you a question. Is it for you or the twins? Tell me," he said as he crossed his arm over his chest.
Andrea itched her scalp as a sigh escaped from her mouth. "The gift is not for me, and it's for the twins," she muttered.
Jasmine coughed slightly and excused herself, leaving them together in the living room.
Sean placed the documents back on the table, ignoring the look on her face.
"This Mr. Wilson is so unbelievable sometimes. How could he give Ruby and Pearl a mansion?" Andrea thought inwardly.
Sean noticed she was in a daze,so he made his way over to her front and snapped his fingers, pulling her out of her thoughts.
Andrea jolted and accidentally brushed her lips against his. Her eyes widened in shock as she felt her breath seize for a while. Awkward silence filled the room as the rain that had fallen earlier finally subsided.
Sean managed to compose himself even though he was also dumbfounded by the earlier situation. He never meant to steal a kiss from her; he was so lost in her face that he forgot he was staying too close.
"Andrea, can I get a cup of coffee?" he asked as he coughed embarrassingly.
Andrea nodded hastily as she made her way into the kitchen. She shut the door and placed her hand on her chest, as she could feel her heart pounding rapidly.
"Why was he standing so close to my face?" she thought as she made his coffee.
She came back shortly with two cups of coffee, and she noticed he was just done making a call.
"Here you go," she said, placing the cup of coffee on the table.
Sean noticed her whole face had turned red, and he smirked slightly. "Why are you blushing? ’’ he asked.
Andrea froze for a while and touched her cheeks before she let out a laugh. "My cheeks are rosy. Oh, I see, it must be the steam from the coffee, you know, right? ’’ she said nervously.
"Oh, I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I hope you are not mad about it. He indirectly teased her.
" What? Nothing happened earlier. I don't know what you are talking about," she muttered as she sipped her coffee, burying her face in the cup.
Sean decided to let it go. He picked up his own cup of coffee, and before she could even bring up a conversation, he gulped the entire cup and rose to his feet.
"There's something important I need to attend to. I'll see you later then," he said, smoothing his coat before walking to the door.
Sean walked out of the building and got into the backseat of his flashy red Maybach that was neatly parked outside.
Drew turned to him from the driver's seat.
"You said you already found out who sent the media to the building. Tell me,"
"It was Ms. Andrea's half sister, Lisa Graham, who sent the media to harass Ms. Andrea at her place," assistant Drew said.
Sean chuckled coldly. "I guess they still have enough change to spare for irrelevant stuff. Tell me the situation with Graham's cooperation."
"Sir, there's nothing left. The company is as good as dead; all their workers have quit already. I heard there are not enough funds to run the company. After you instructed the other companies here in Australia not to assist Mr. Graham, none of them dared to offend you. Anytime soon, I bet it will shut down completely."
Sean sneered, "I can't even wait for a sec. I want you to make them go completely bankrupt in the next hour. Let's see if they will have time to make trouble that they can't even handle."
Drew nodded and started the car's engine; immediately, the car stopped at the company. Sean got out, and Drew drove off instantly to make sure he completed the task Sean had given him.
Sean's cell phone began to vibrate; he swiftly brought it out from his pocket, and it was Carmen calling him. A deep frown crept across his face. Ever since their engagement, he has been totally ignoring her. He walked into his office and placed his phone on the table.
He brought out a book from the shelf in his office. His phone began to ring again, and this time around, it was Sonny calling him.
"Hey buddy, how is it going over there?"
"Is that the reason you had to call at this time?" Sean rolled his eyes.
"Of course, for what other reasons do you think I will call you except for the fact that I need you back to handle your company?"
"Oh, please just shut up. Stop being a lazy ass. You won't believe what happened today. Andrea and I shared a kiss. She even made me a cup of coffee. That lady is already in love with me. I mean, who can resist my charms?" Sean narrated everything that happened in a proud tone.
"Sean, you must have gone mad. Why do I feel so sorry for you right now? How could you ask her why she blushed? Don't you know you embarrassed her as an expert on women? I can guarantee you they don't like that, and did you just say mansion for the twins? Don't you think that will make her suspicious of you?"
Sean touched his nose awkwardly and said, You are not an expert with women; you are just a pervert. This shouldn't be your problem; it's mine, and I can handle it on my own. You just have to wait and see. I will hang up now."
" Wait! Your fiance has been bugging me about your whereabouts. I think you should give her a call," Sonny said.
"Just ignore that moron," Sean said unceremoniously, and he hung up immediately.

Back at the condominium, everyone was seated at the dining table, having dinner.
"Wow, Jasmine, you are such a good cook." Elena, who got back from work exhausted, couldn't help but praise her as she devoured the food.
"My goodness! Slow down, Lena. No one will take the food away from you. Didn't you eat anything at work today?" Andrea inquired as she stared at her weirdly.
Elena groaned loudly. "Oh, Andrea, there was no time for that today. The hospital was choked up to the tip of our necks." She gestured with her hand.
Andrea chuckled softly. "Sorry about that. Here, have more soup," she said as she dished out a bowl of soup for her.
"Guess what, Sis Lena, Mr. Wilson came over today," Jasmine said excitedly.
" Really? Did anything interesting happen?" she asked.
Andrea shot Jasmine a deadly glare: When did you become such a blabbermouth?"
She turned back to Elena and said, "Anyway, I was about to tell you. Actually, the apartment opposite ours belongs to Mr. Wilson, and he lives there now. I guess that's why he decided to come by.
"Oh, so he's the owner of that huge apartment? I heard they had to connect four apartments into one, and guess what? I heard the owner wasn't satisfied with it. So Mr. Wilson is the owner? He made me feel like we were living on a ranch," Elena said as she drank from her bowl of soup.
"Oh really?" Andrea nodded slowly as she thought about everything that happened earlier.
"Sis, Lena, guess what? Mr. Wilson gifted the
Andrea quickly palmed her mouth. "Jasmine, what's wrong with you tonight? Let me tell Elena myself," she said, rolling her eyes as she let go of her.
"I'm sorry, I got really excited and almost spilled the beans."
"What are you guys talking about? Tell me quickly."
Actually, Mr. Wilson came to see the twins. And then he gifted them a mansion. I tried explaining to him that it was too much and I couldn't accept it."
Elena cut her off. "Wait, you mean the twins own a mansion? Wow! They haven't even spent a month in the world, and they are already millionaires. Look at me here. I'm 24, and I'm still living in a rented apartment. Isn't this great?" Elena almost cried.
" Right? Yours is way better. I'm their mother, and yet I don't even own a rented apartment," Andrea huffed.
Tessa chuckled as she listened to them say, "Girls, we should be happy. This is a testament that the kids will bring good fortune."
Everyone nodded as they agreed with Tessa's speech.
After dinner, they all sat down in the living room while Andrea cleared the dining table.
Elena and Jasmine were busy playing with the babies while Mom Tessa suddenly changed the channel.
Jasmine couldn't help but murmur in a low tone, "What is so good about the news?"
"Breaking news: it was just reported right now. Graham's Cooperation will be shutting down as a result of a lack of funds for the proper running of the company. It was also said that all the employees quit because the company has not been able to settle them for a couple of months now. The company is facing a massive downfall that they may never be able to work out.
Just then, the picture on the TV screen changed to Lachlan walking out of the company with his face mask on. The reporters had blocked the whole entrance of the building, trying their best to interview him as they shoved their microphones in his face. The security had to force a way for Lachlan to go through as the barrage of light from the reporters' cameras flashed on him. The crowd was so large that it was as if the president were hosting a rally.
Lachlan managed to get into his car and speed off from the scene.
The next thing was the deafening sound of glass shattering. Everyone swiftly turned around and found Andrea staring at the screen; her hand was bleeding, and all the freshly cut fruit was squandered on the ground.
