Chapter 39: Chapter 39

Chapter 39: Yeah, I got engaged

Everyone swiftly turned around and found Sean standing with his hands jammed into his front pocket. Beside him was his assistant, Drew.

"Oh my, it's Mr. Wilson," the reporters all rushed towards him heatedly.

Sean threw his hand in the air and said, "I'm not here to exchange pleasantries with you all. I will advise you to leave this premises right now."

"But Mr. Wilson, why are you protective of Andrea?" a reporter asked as he shoved the microphone in his face.

"I heard she stole from your company; that's why she got fired. Is that right? "

"Mr. Wilson, are you having an affair with such a lewd woman? How do you think this will affect your career?

"Is your family in support of your decision to be with a lady with such a bad reputation like her?"

"Are you willing to father another man's child?"

Mr. Wilson I heard you got engaged to Ms. Wallner. Is Ms. Andrea perhaps your mistress?

"Are you friends with benefits with Ms. Andrea?"

"Enough of all this nonsense. Can't you see she's hurt by your detrimental words? Anything she does shouldn't be you or society's problem. She's an adult, a full-grown woman. What gives you the audacity to bash her like this? Did she go to each one of your houses to beg for something to eat? No right? " Sean yelled at them furiously.

"Drew, I want you to do something for me right now. I want you to give the commissioner of police a call and tell them there is some trash that needs to be taken out," Sean said, and Drew nodded quickly.

One of the reporters tittered nervously, "It hasn't gotten to that, Mr. Wilson. We were about to leave,’ he said, and everyone nodded and started going out.

" Wait! Just get one thing straight. I shouldn't see any of these things that happened here in the news because if I do... He cut his words short as he glared at them icily.

After they left, his gaze travelled back to Andrea, who was kneeling down as she palmed her face.

Sean slowly walked over to her, and to Drew's surprise, Sean also went down on his knees and pulled the lady in for a hug.

"They are gone now; you don't need to worry. I will make sure none of these things appear in the news," he whispered in her ear.

Andrea slowly raised her head from his chest. Immediately she looked at him, and a tear slid down her cheek. Sean gently wiped it away.

"Why are you here?" Andrea wiped her face quickly as she rose to her feet.

’ I live here now, ' Sean said, clearing his throat slightly.

"What do you mean you live here?" she questioned with a hint of confusion written all over her face.

"I own the apartment opposite where you stay. Okay? " Sean rolled his eyes.

" Oh! Goodnight then,’ she said in a dejected tone. She was about to walk away, but Sean held her soft hand.

He stared at her intensely; she was wearing baby pink cotton pajamas that

highlighted her porcelain skin. Her black, silky hair dropped over her shoulders lazily; she looked so sexy with no effort.

"Congratulations about the twins. I'd come see you first thing tomorrow," he managed to say, his gaze not leaving her body.

"Thank you, Mr. Wilson, and congratulations to you too. I heard you got engaged." She smiled sweetly at him before going into the house.

"Yeah, I got engaged," he muttered sadly as he stared at the door that had been shut a while ago.

"Find out who invited the media to the building," Sean said, his gaze burning with rage.

********

It was another bright and sunny morning in New South Wales. The cordial ray of sunshine pierced through the glass window. Andrea moved slightly under the duvet, and the next thing was the cry of a baby. She groaned loudly; she wasn't able to get enough sleep thanks to Ruby, who refused to sleep last night, resulting in her staying up all night watching her.

Andrea got up from the bed and walked over to the crib, and this time around, it was Pearl who was in tears. She gently tied her hair into a ponytail as a small sigh escaped from her lips.

She picked her up and played all sorts of tricks on the baby, but it didn't work.

"Baby, I see you must be very hungry," Andrea said, feeding her milk before going to freshen up.

An hour or so later, she came downstairs with the babies, and to her surprise, Pearl was still in tears.

"May, what's wrong with Pearl? The baby is crying more than usual. Is she sick? '' Mom Tessa furrowed her brows as she touched Pearl to confirm if she was perhaps running a fever.

Her temperature is average,' Mom Tessa said.

"That's great news." Andrea plopped herself down on the sofa, and Tessa caught sight of the deep circle underneath her eyes.

"May, when was the last time you had a good rest?" Tessa couldn't help but ask.

Andrea yawned. "Two weeks ago," she muttered before lying down on the couch wearily.

"You should get some rest; Jasmine will look after the babies," Mom Tessa assured her.

Andrea nodded before closing her eyes, and soon enough, she drifted off to sleep.

…….

Andrea rubbed her eyes groggily before they flew open. She didn't know how long she had been sleeping for, but all she was glad about was that she was feeling refreshed.

"Mr. Wilson, that's not how you hold a baby."

Andrea heard Jasmine's voice; she froze and slowly turned around, and her eyes widened in shock. She didn't even know what she was shocked about. Is it the fact that Mr. Wilson was trying to put her baby to sleep, or is it the fact that she drooled on the couch?

She gulped down her saliva nervously. "Oh, hi, Mr. Wilson," she mumbled as she rose to her feet.

Sean walked over to her with Pearl in his arms. He moved closer until he was an inch away from her face.

Andrea felt her heart thumping wildly as she stared at his face before she could manage to come up with a word.

She heard him say, "Were you drooling in your sleep?" He pointed at the corner of her lips.

Andrea palmed her mouth embarrassingly before rushing upstairs.

She bit her lip as she walked into her room. "Gosh! That was awkward. Now how do I go back downstairs?" Andrea grumbled.

After washing her face, she came back down. She lowered her gaze as she plopped herself down on the couch.

"Andrea, you won't believe this; Pearl has been crying all day, but immediately after Mr. Wilson took her in his arms, she stopped crying and even fell asleep. Isn't this a miracle?" Jasmine chuckled.

" Wow! She must have liked him then." Andrea chuckled nervously.

"What is this?" Andrew pointed at the bag in Jasmine's custody.

"Oh, it's a gift from Mr. Wilson," Jasmine said as she passed the bag to her.

Andrea glanced at him before opening the bag and bringing out some documents.

"What is this, Mr. Wilson?" she asked as she stared at him.

"Check them out yourself," he said nonchalantly.

Andrea flipped the pages open, and her eyes widened in shock. "No,no, no. This is too much, Mr. Wilson," she said, handing the papers back to him.
