Chapter 29: Fireworks show

” I will call you back later,” Andrea hung up immediately.

She heard the doorbell ring again ” Huh? What's going on today? '' she muttered as she went over to the door and found another basket.

She picked it up and found lots of chocolate, roses and lastly another card.

” I hope you enjoyed the fireworks show Happy Birthday once again Andrea,” a smile found its way to her face as she read it out.

NIGHT SHORE HOSPITAL CENTER

AT A VIP WARD

Kylie was having some fruits while playing with her phone, the door burst open and Evie walked in. Kylie raised her head and a smile appeared on her face as she glanced at Evie who was standing close to the door while holding pink tulips.

” Come in Evie,” Kylie tilted her head as if looking for someone or something.

” How are you feeling now? ” Evie asked as she took a seat.

” I'm fine now. Um…. What about Mr Jones? I didn't see him here or is he coming? ” she asked as she carved her brows in anticipation.

Evie shook her head ” Boss told me to apologise to you that he can't make it to the hospital and that's why he sent me here to check up on you on his behalf,”

” Oh… okay. Thanks for checking up on me but I need to get some rest now,” sadness clouded her features.

” Sure I wish you speedy recovery,” Evie chuckled softly before walking out.

SOUTH SONG STREET, AUSTRALIA

Andrea was watching a movie on TV when the door flung open revealing an exhausted Elena walking in.

” Welcome back Lena,” Andrea was already used to seeing her this way, it was the same old thing.

” Hey birthday girl, have you found out who did the fireworks show? ”

Andrea sighs loudly ” I haven't found out yet. I mean who could it be? Know one knows it's my birthday except you and I and you know…….”

Elena itched her scalp awkwardly " er…..um.. actually I told Mr Jones and Mr Wilson about your birthday,” she coughed slightly.

Andrea shot her deadly glare ” Lena how could you. I told you countless times that we should just skip this day like we always do. What's the need for bothering them,”

” Chill girl, I mean you should stop dwelling in the past. I know this day always makes you feel bad and insecure but you should know there are people out there who truly care about you. It's your parents lost not ours they missed out on what great of a person you are so if you will get mad at me then so be it,” Elena crossed her arm over chest as she turned her head slightly away

Just then she heard whimpering sounds, she turned her head only to find Andrea in tears.

” Andee, are you really crying? I'm so sorry I didn't mean to make you cry on your birthday… I…”

Andrea shook her head as she sniffled ” No Lena, these are tears of joy. I'm so happy to have you in my life and you are right, who cares about those old folks right,” she chuckled softly.

Elena smiled and gave her a side hug ” After your delivery I will give you a very tight hug till I destroy your organs,” she said and they both burst into laughter.

” Oh yeah before I forget I found this at the doorstep and it's for you,” Elena gave her a package and she took it.

She furrowed her brows ” the package is from who? "She placed it on the coffee table and tore the wraps only to find an album with a pink cover.

Andrea froze for a while and her expression turned dark. She could recognize this from anywhere in the world. After all she was the one who had gifted this to the sender.

Elena glanced at her with a puzzled look, she picked it up and opened the photo album and recognition also dawned on her.

Andrea gasped ” Why is this here? ” she said with a hint of grievance.

Elena couldn't help but remember the day she overheard Lisa and Philip's conversation in the hospital. ” When Philip said he will only love one person forever did he mean….. no..no. How can Philip still be in love with Andrea? Then why did he get married to Lisa. I can't say this to Andrea, it will get her infuriated,” she thought inwardly.

”Happy Birthday Andee, I hope these memories always stay fresh with you,” Andrea's voice wavered as she read the note that fell from the photo album.

Andrea gulped down hard and slumped on the couch, she lowered her head to the marble floor,her eyes had already turned wet from tears.

” Elena, please just get rid of the album immediately, I don't want to see anything that will remind me of him,” she said above a whisper.

Elena nodded and put it aside ” How about I get it burned tomorrow. Come on stop crying you were happy a minute ago don't let that jerk ruin your mood,”

Andrea wiped her tears and nodded ” where is my gift,” she asked as she raised her head.

Elena gigled ” Goodness! You are still thinking about your gift all along. I was too busy so I asked Ryan to bring it over,” she said nonchalantly.

” So who do you think did the Fireworks show?” Andrea asked.

” I just have this feeling that Mr Wilson is the one behind it,” Elena mumbled.

Andrea couldn't help but laugh ” Mr Wilson doesn't seem like the romantic type. That man has a sharp tongue that could cut through anything,”

Elena clasped her stomach as she burst Into another round of laughter ” Hahaha! I'm glad to see you laughing again! You're really starting to cheer me up too! Maybe you should start a career as a comedian. Just imagine how many people you could make laugh. You could be the next big stand-up star!. Or maybe just keep me entertained, I'm a pretty good audience,”

” Do you think she will love the fireworks?” Sean asked Sonny who was playing games on his phone.

Sonny scoffed loudly ” it's better than your idea of buying her a house or car. If you have given her that kind of gift I bet she won't speak to you again. You might think this little things doesn't matter but to ladies it means bigger to them,”

Sean sneered ” All those ladies that are daydreaming and claiming they love me are saying it for money and fancy stuff. Next time just say my lady Andrea is different from other women she's a rare gem,”

Sonny nodded ” you are right! Anyways, Andrea is not a materialistic kind of woman,”

” I'm glad you know that no lady is as good as her,” Sean said in a proud tone.

Carmen dashed in excitedly ” Sean! Sean! It's really you. I missed you so much,”

” Okay. Who let this mad dog in,” he mumbled with a frown on his face.
