Chapter 115: Chapter 115

On their drive to Jace's apartment, he remained silient all through, with a gloomy expression on his face. Jasmine could sense his mood, which made her unable to start up a conversation with him.

Immediately after Jace unlocked the door to his apartment, Jasmine pushed him against the wall and placed her head on his chest. "Are you mad at me?" She whispered softly as she looked up from his chest to get a good view of his good-looking face.

Jace knitted his brows, saying, "Jasmine, are you ashamed of me? That's why you didn't want Sean and Andrea to see us a moment ago?" He asked, going straight to the point. Her earlier actions made him start to question their relationship and whether Jasmine truly loved him like she claimed.

"No, it's really nothing like that, I promise. It's just that I want to keep our relationship a secret for now. I'm not ashamed of you; I'm just worried about what people will think of me; they might think I cozen you into dating me. It's more of me being ashamed of myself." Jasmine expressed her feelings as she walked towards the window.

Jace could see she was excessively bothered about the situation, and her eyes were conveying all of her emotions.

He sighs siliently and wraps his arms around her firmly from behind. "Jasm, I truly love you, and I don't care what anyone considers our relationship as. The most important thing is that our feelings for each other are reciprocal, right?" He said, planting a kiss on her cheek.

"Moreover, you can take all the time you need to get used to us, and we can keep it a secret until you're ready to tell everyone," he added.

Jasmine turned around and faced him. "I love you too. No one has been this kind and patient towards me," she said, tears of joy welling up in her eyes. She had thought she was cool with the whole world finding out she was dating someone younger than her, but she realized she was wrong; she wasn't prepared at all.

"Shh, don't say thank you. I will literally do anything to make my woman happy," he said with a warm smile, pecking her on the lips.

Her stomach made a rumbling sound. "I'm starving." Jasmine pouted her lips as she glanced down at her stomach; She hadn't eaten anything all day.

"That is why I brought you down here to my apartment to make lunch for the prettiest lady I know. From now on, this will be our little secret restaurant for our dates," he smiled and took her hand, pulling her towards the kitchen.

After having lunch, the two sat down on the couch and watched Jasmine's favorite series together, with her head resting on his shoulder lazily.

Jace glanced at the time on his wrist watch, and it was already past seven. He then realized that time seems to pass quicker when spending it with a loved one. "It's getting pretty late. I should drop you off at home," he said, already rising to his feet.

She pouted sadly and got up. Jasmine knew her house was far from Jace's apartment, and it would take almost half an hour to get home. "And you?"

"The boys have been complaining that I'm spending little time with them ever since we came together. I'm going to the club afterwards to see the guys," Jace replied nonchalantly.

"I want to come with you."

"I don't think that's a good idea; it's getting late. You can come with me some other time."

" No! I'm coming with you, and that's final! I will call mom right now and tell her I'm on the night shift. Problem solved!"

"Let's go if you insist."

...

Andrea was reading a bedtime story for the twins, when Sean walked into the bedroom cautiously, afraid of disturbing the peace.

"Baby," Sean called out to her softly.

"What is it?" Andrea answered dryly as she put aside the book, showcasing the annoyed look on her delicate face.

"I really need to talk to you."

"Not now, Sean; can't you see I'm trying to put the girls to sleep? Go away, or your presence might wake them," she warned him sternly.

Before she could even pick up from where she had left, Ruby burst into tears, causing Andrea to sigh loudly. "I'm sure I didn't cry so much as a baby; you got this character from your dad," she scolded softly as she caressed her daughter.

" Sean Just look at what I've been trying to avoid. Please just go sleep in the guest room and stop disturbing my babies."

"Why are you staring at me? Go!" She pointed her finger at the door with a threatening expression on her face.

With no objections, Sean siliently went out of the room, feeling defeated. He thought taking her out to a fancy restaurant would make her feel better and cause her to put aside the issue regarding Jacob; instead, he was wrong.

He couldn't even get quality time to spend with his wife anymore; the twins had gotten to the clingy stage, and work had been demanding of her, constantly keeping her occupied.

Sean settled down in the guest room opposite the master's bedroom, and instead of trying to get some sleep, he picked up his phone by the nightstand and gave Sonny a call.

It rang for a couple of minutes, and till it got disconnected, Sonny didn't pick, although he had the idea that Sonny might have fallen asleep, and that even made him angrier.

He kept calling until Sonny finally answered the phone. "Hey, who is on the line?" he asked in a husky voice.

Sean snorted loudly. "You must be having a great time sleeping so freely and happily."

" Sean? Why are you calling at this time of the day? Did you get into a fight with Andee?" Sonny asked in an unfazed tone, making Sean's blood boil.

"Oh, you also think I am the problem? You didn't even give me a chance to speak before you judged me."

"Either you are guilty or not, you are still the guilty one. This is the only way to make peace with these women." Sonny whispered lightly into the phone. "So tell me what happened this time around?"

"A lot. Firstly, Andrea has been adamant about wanting to know what transpired between Jacob and me years ago, which I refused to tell her. Secondly, the twins are being extra clingy these days; we can't even plan a date without including them, and now Andrea threw me out of our room so I won't disturb the twins."

Sonny quickly stifled his laughter. The image of Sean being kicked out of his own room flashed into his head. He took a deep breath and said, "Same thing with Alicia; we can't even hold any conversations that don't have to do with our unborn baby, and she hasn't even let me touch her since she got pregnant."

"You had so much fun all your life that it doesn't sound bad if you become chaste for eternity." Sean couldn't miss the opportunity to reprimand him.

"You know what? If you called me to insult me, then I think I should go back to bed while I leave you to think of a solution yourself," Sonny said, emphasizing each other.

"Wait! Just tell me what to do before it gets out of hand."

"As for you, just go to Andrea and tell her what happened years ago, and I'm sure that will patch up things between you two. As for me, I will take Alicia to the hospital and have them do a brain scan on her. I'm sure something is wrong somewhere."

Listening to Sonny made Sean begin to feel terribly bad for Alicia, considering they were expecting a baby and even the father of the baby's brain is still under development.

" Sonny I think maybe you need..."

"You don't need to thank me, Sean. We are like brothers. I need to go back to sleep now. Goodnight," Sonny said, and he hung up afterwards.

Sean shook his head. He wanted to advise Sonny to go get his brain checked instead of Alicia's.

....

Jasmine and Jace walked into the club with his arms wrapped firmly around her waist, protecting her. The place was dimly lit, with colorful lights illuminating the scene. On the dance floor, youths were dancing their nights away.

Jace ushered Jasmine to the VIP area, where his friends were seated drinking in the midst of some gorgeous ladies who kept laughing at their dry jokes.

And as the night went on, Jasmine got tipsy while Josh and Luke were drunk to a stupor and were on the verge of passing out, except for Jace, who was composed even after having his tenth glass. They all leaned into the seat, looking wasted and drained.

"Are you good?" Jace asked in a soft tone.

"Yes, baby, let's dance." Jasmine struggled to get on her feet and tried to pull Jace from the seat. Her legs wobbled, and she almost dropped to the ground; luckily, Jace caught her in time.

"Jasm, you are drunk. You should get some rest," he said, placing his hand on her waist. He then turned around and glanced at his wasted friends. He couldn't stop himself from shaking his head in shame.

"Guys, I'm off," Jace said, using his leg to wake Josh up. Unfortunately, his efforts were futile. He sighs as the loud sound of Luke snoring follows.

Jasmine, who was leaning on Jace, giggled like a little kid. "I think he's dead," she muttered tipsily.

"Shhh." Jace drove straight to his apartment and took her to his room, laying her gently on the bed. He  then carefully took off her shoes and covered her with the quilt.

He took the pillow beside her and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight, babe," he said, looking at her one last time before turning around.

Before he could take another step, Jasmine grabbed hold of his hand and asked, "Where are you going?" She asked, trying to get out of bed.

Jace's apartment only had one bedroom. "To the living room. Jasm, you must be tired. You should get some rest."

"But I don't want you to leave," Jasmine pouted as she caressed his chest with a seductive look in her eyes. She grabbed his neck and lowered his face down, then slowly moved closer until their lips touched.

"You're drunk," Jace said as he pulled away from her.

"I'm not drunk." Jasmine chuckled softly and grabbed his hand, placing it on her waist. She held his cheek and kissed him on the lips passionately.

Jace couldn't control himself any longer; he pushed her on the bed and crawled over to her before claiming her lips while his hand roamed all over her body.
