Derek Entered the room as soon as Vanessa came out of the bathroom carrying Mara. He wasn’t looking happy and Vanessa raised a brow.
“ What?” She asked him. “ Someone’s looking for you outside” He said. “ Who?” Vanessa asked him. “ You remember that man that Scammed you right?” He asked. “ Alfred’s Uncle” She said and Derek nodded his head. “ Yes, he’s in the sitting room waiting for you” Vanessa was surprised and confused on what Could have brought him to the house and wondered who told him where she was living.
“ You said he’s in the sitting room right?” She asked him and he nodded his head. “ I would have tell you to go inform him I’m not living here had it been you haven’t let him in” Vanessa sighed. “ I tried to but he caught me off guard” Vanessa sat on the bed cleaning her wet hair with a towel. “ Okay, go tell him I’ll be right there shortly” She said and he walked out. “ What could have brought him here? I just hope it’s not something that have to do with My Daughter” She Quickly changed in to another dress and left the room without Mara.
“ You kept me waiting for long” Uncle said as soon as Vanessa Entered the sitting room. She rolled her eyes and sat down on a couch, Vanessa would have talk back at him but He was like a grandpa to her baby. “ What brought you here?” Vanessa asked and he Chuckled. “ Is this how you welcome your guests? No drinks, no food?” He asked her and she looked at Derek who was standing beside her. “ Please get him a glass of water” She said and Derek left. “ A glass of water? Shouldn’t you be giving me juice?” He asked but she wasn’t interested in his clout that morning.
Derek returned back with a glass cup of water and gave it to him but he dropped it on the take without taking even a sip.
“ I thought you said you Needed something to drink” Derek said surprisingly. “ Yes I did but I lost interest. Did you put anything in it to destroy me?” He asked looking at Derek, Derek chuckled and stood beside Vanessa. “ I wouldn’t want the cops to arrest me if I destroy you in my house. I’d rather find a secluded place and carry out the act there” He said. “ Oh Really? Then you must be investigated because you sound like a dangerous person” Uncle retorted. “ Really? Then you’ll be name dangerous because your face looks so dangerous to me” Uncle was about to answer back but Vanessa interrupted him.
“ What brought you here? Did you come to cause an Argument or for something else? If you don’t have anything tangible to do here, kindly Leave because I have a lot of things to take care of” Vanessa said standing up from the couch. “ If you take another step forward, you will lose a fortune” He said and she turned back, Vanessa raised a brow and Chuckled. “ You are not in any way to describe my fortune so tell me what you came to do or deliver the message you were sent to deliver” She said and he smiled. “ You are so smart and that’s why we’ll never approve of you to marry in to our Family” He said and Vanessa Chuckled Scoffed.
“ Because your family is full of betrayers and evil doers right? I’m not surprised” She sat down on the couch again looking straight at him.. “ You can say whatever you feel like saying, that won’t change anything” He shook his head when Mara came out from the room. “ Stop looking at my Daughter that way” She said and he shook his head again. “ Why? I thought you said she’s Alfred’s Child” Uncle said and Vanessa smiled. “ I didn’t say she’s Alfred’s child, She’s definitely his child” She smiled at him. “ I’ve dealt with Girls your types who are so desperate for money” He said and Vanessa moved closer to the edge of the Couch.
“ Really? Interesting” She said and he nodded his head. “ Yes, They’ll do anything just to be closer to you for your money. Some of them even went as far as bringing a baby and claimed it was mine” He sighed deeply. “ Are you sure the babies aren’t yours?” She asked him. “ Are you suspecting Me?” He asked her back. “ I don’t know but, you don’t look like someone who should be trust. Because I don’t also trust your coming here. Are you sure those aren’t your girlfriends like the one you made me bake a free cake for?” She asked him and he looked at Mara. “ Come here kid, let me be sure you are Alfred’s child” He stretched his hand and Mara Chuckled. “ No thanks, I’m still my Father’s Daughter. And stop exchanging words with my Mummy, she isn’t the type that argue” Mara said and went closer to Vanessa.
“ Wonderful, like mother like Daughter.. You two are very dangerous to us and…” Derek interrupted him, He was so Pissed off with his attitude already. “ Just say what brought you here and leave, you talk too much sir” Derek said trying to hold his breath. “ Okay then” He brought out an envelope from his pocket and dropped it on the table. “ This paper is for you” He said pointing to the Envelope. “ For me, from who?” She asked him and he smiled. “ Just open it and you’ll Know” He said. She looked at Derek who was so dying to see whatever is in there and she opened it.
Vanessa brought out the cheque, she stared at it shocking. In her 25 years of life, she hadn’t even hold a cheque of a thousand dollars talk more of Ten thousand dollars.
