She was confused and surprised at the same time, she wondered who could have given her that money out of the blue. Is it Alfred? She wondered. Derek Took the Cheque from her to be sure of the figures he was seeing. He looked at The Uncle who was smiling with his eyes widened.
“ What is this?” Vanessa asked and he moved closer. “ It’s a cheque. I’m sure you are not blind” He said and she Chuckled. “ A cheque from who?” She asked him and he looked at Mara again.. “ It’s a cheque from My Mum, Alfred’s Grandma. She wants you and that thing over there…” Vanessa interrupted him. “ She have a name, her name’s Mara” She said sternly. “ Okay, She want you and Mara to Stay away from Alfred’s life, stay away from our family or else…” He paused. “ Or else what? Get rid of us” She completed. “ Yes, you are so smart. I’m sure that money would last you tears and years.” He said and Vanessa Chuckled..
“ It’s not enough” She said. “ Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen a thousand dollars before?” He asked her and Vanessa stood up, she took the Cheque from Derek’s hand and tore it in pieces, she threw it on him and Chuckled. “ We don’t need your money, Tell Alfred to stop disturbing our lives” She Carried Mara and went inside the room.. “ What da!” He exclaimed, watching her as she entered the room. “ You can go now” Derek showed him the way out. He stood up from the couch and sighed.
“ Talk some senses in to her head, she can’t just Decline Ten thousand dollars” He said and Derek nodded his head. “ You can go” He walked him out of the house and Locked the Door with a key. “ What nonsense” He looked at the pieces of cheque on the floor and shook his head Disappointedly. “ Vanessa” He went straight to her room and found her talking to Mara. “ We need to talk” He said to her. “ About what?” Vanessa asked, She Already knew Derek Might try to talk about the Money to her. “ If it’s about the money, Do not waste your time” She said standing up from the bed.
“ Vanessa, that Money is huge. You want to leave this City but you don’t have any money. If I was you, I would have take it and use it wisely” He said worriedly and Vanessa Chuckled. “ It’s better I use the money I work hard for than to take their money. He gave me the cheque so that I would Leave Alfred alone. Who told him I have something to do with Alfred? This is just boring” Vanessa sighed. “ I know it sounds weird and offensive but you shouldn’t have tore the papers in his face” He said. “ Are you serious right now? If I didn’t do that, he would have left thinking I accepted the Money” She defended her self.
“ okay I heard you but please don’t do that again. You should have given it to me, you know I love Money” he said and Vanessa laughed. “ I know and that was why I tore it in your face too. This is just an insult, How can they even think of doing something like this? I’m now sure that they have no respect for money” Derek agreed with her, Someone in his right senses wouldn’t have done that. “ But Mara is his child, What does the Grandma think she’s doing? This doesn’t makes any sense” Derek said and Vanessa nodded her head.
“ They don’t want me and I don’t want them either” They turned to Mara who was playing with toys on the bed. “ Really?” Derek asked and Mara nodded her head. “ Yes, Mara doesn’t like them either” She repeated. “ But what if Mara Grow up and want to see her Daddy?” He asked and Mara paused. “ I.. I like my Daddy but I don’t want to go back to his family because they don’t like Mara and Mummy” Vanessa smiled, that was the sort of things she wanted Mara to be saying. “ I love you Baby, don’t worry okay. Mummy will not take you back to that house” Vanessa said smiling.
“ I trust you” Mara gave Vanessa a thumbs up. “ But still, you should have Accept the Money” Vanessa Smack him on the arm and Derek moved away from her laughing. “ Stop talking about that Money” She said and he nodded his head laughing. “ Alright, your Majesty” He teased. “ You can say that again”.

Uncle returned back to Grandma after having a deep thought. He was scared to go meet her and tell her what Vanessa had done but decided to just go and face the consequences. Grandma was outside sitting on a chair surrounded by Flowers. He opened the gate and walked inside the house Quietly.
“ Mother” He called Softly and she opened her eyes. “ What brings you here?” She asked him without Turning around.. “ Mum I…” She cut him off. “ What’s the Feedback?” She asked him and he quickly knelt beside her. “ Mum, I did as you instructed” He said and she looked at him smiling. “ Wonderful! That’s My Boy” He faked a smile but she understood his expression. “ What’s with the fake smile?” She asked him and he sighed. “ Don’t tell me what is running through my kind now” She said to him and looked at the flowers.. “ I’m sorry Mum, but she… she Declined the Cheque and tore it in to pieces”
Grandma was surprised and confused, he wondered what kind of a person Vanessa was to have declined Ten thousand dollars she didn’t even work for. Others would have accepted the money even if it was a thousand dollars.
“ She must have a reason for doing that” Grandma said and uncle Chuckled.
