Alfred returned back to the hotel, he was shocked, Confused, Angry and devastated. He couldn’t believe what the man told him at The CBI, He threw the papers on the bed and sighed deeply.
“ This is unbelievable, oh God please I hope this is just a dream. Yes it’s a dream, I’ll just wake up and everything would be back to normal” He nodded his head. “ Who an I kidding, this isn’t a dream it’s the reality” Alfred closed his house. “ What Should I tell Vanessa, how would I even tell her?” He picked up his phone to call her but dropped it again. “ Things would get worst even if I tell her now, I’ll wait until we found Mara” He Agreed with his decision. “ Or maybe I should give her a call and ask where she is” He dialed her number and it started ringing.
“ please answer” Vanessa didn’t answer the phone, he tried again but she didn’t answer the call and when he tried for the third time, her phone was switched off. “ Oh Vanessa, I’m so sorry. Please Answer my call” He tried again but it was still off. Alfred then remembered He have his card to Derek to call him if Vanessa shows up in his house. “ What’s keeping him so long? He should have call me by now” He looked at his phone “ I would have given him a call but I don’t know his number” Alfred sighed. He lied down on the bed thinking of what to do then an idea popped in his head.
“ This would be great” He Quickly picked his car keys, left the papers on the bed and hurried out of the room.

Vanessa was feeding Mara on the dining Table while Derek was preparing for work. Mara teased him as he got ready for work and they all laughed.
“ Baby, How does it feels been taken away from your Mum?” Derek asked her and she sighed. “ It was horrible” Mara shook her head. “ Horrible, How?” Vanessa asked. “ They hate me so much, I heard one of them telling the other to just get rid of me” Mara said sadly. “ That’s Our lives too” He said and Mara turned to him. “ Excuse me?” She said. “ That’s the life Your mummy and I have been living since we left the orphanage” He said. Vanessa tried to signal him to stop but he ignored her. “ After your mum was chased out by her adoptive parents, life became so difficult for her. She had to fend for herself, worked wherever she found work just to take care of you in her womb and herself” Mara looked at Vanessa, she looked at Derek and bowed her head sadly.
“ I didn’t know you went through that Mummy, I’m so sorry for not listening to you” Mara held Vanessa’s hand and kissed it “ I’ll always listen to what you say even if I like that thing” Mara promised. “ Oh Baby” Vanessa hugged her. She looked at Derek and rolled her eyes. “ Thanks for making my Baby cried” She whispered and he laughed. “ I’m off to work, make sure to lock the door. He might come back again” He picked up his backpack and threw it on his back. “ See you later, Make sure you prepare something delicious for Dinner.” He said to Vanessa. “ I’ll bring you Goodies” He said to Mara and she waved at him. “ Be safe out there uncle Derek” She Said smiling.
Derek opened the door smiling. As soon as he stepped outside, he saw Alfred parking his car. He quickly turned back and peeped his head inside the sitting room.
“ He’s here” He said To Vanessa, no one had to tell her who it was and Vanessa quickly carried Mara and entered the room. “ Hi” Alfred said to Derek as Derek was locking the door with his own keys. “ Oh Hi, you are here” He said Smiling. “ Have you heard anything from her?” Alfred asked worriedly. “ I wanted to call you but I don’t know if you would be busy by then” He said and sighed. “ Did you find her?” Alfred asked him and he nodded his head. “ I called her to tell me where she is but she hung up on me, her phone is switched off” He lied to Alfred. “ Oh Vanessa, I’m so sorry” He looked at Derek. “ please tell her there’s something important I want to talk to her about” Alfred said and Derek nodded his head. “ I’ll tell her if she answer my call. I’m sorry but, I’ll be late for work” He tucked his keys inside his pocket and Walked away.
“ Excuse me” Alfred said and he froze, he thought Alfred had found out Vanessa was in the house and he was lying. “ I can drop you at work” He offered but Derek declined, he knew he might end up telling Alfred the truth if he’s in the car with him. He has always wanted to be close to Alfred when he found out he was the president of the GI conglomerate. “ No, thank you. A friend is waiting for me at the bus stop” Derek said not because he wanted to but he must keep his promise to Vanessa. “ Then can I have your number?” Alfred asked. Derek was confused, he knew if he didn’t give the number to Alfred, he might start suspecting him and he mustn’t give him fake number.
“ Okay” He typed his Number in Alfred’s phone and handed it over to him. “ I’ll Call you anytime” Alfred said and he left in his car. “ Oh no I’m Doomed. I’ll just change my line” He said. “ But he’ll Suspect something. Maybe he have started suspecting me” He Sighed and Walked away.
Vanessa came out of the room with Mara when she saw his car leaving through the window. She heaved a sigh of relief and sat on the Couch.
