“ I know mummy, But she’s Hungry” She said worriedly.

“ Mara, stop being a baby. You are already 4 and too smart for all this” Vanessa said and she rolled her eyes. “ leave the kid alone” Alfred said and Vanessa Chuckled. “ Let her be, Daddy. I know she would say something if I do that and, She did” Vanessa was surprised, she would have spanked Mara if she was closer to her. “ I’ll make you pay for this” She said and Mara laughed. “ You can’t do anything to me, Daddy is here and you love me” She laughed. “ Oh really? Let Daddy go out” Vanessa said.

Alfred smiled, he looked at Vanessa and she looked away. He was Glad Vanessa called him Mara’s Daddy and that made him happy. He stood up from the chair because there were many things he wanted to do that day and one was related to Vanessa.

“ Are you leaving?” Mara asked Alfred. “ Yes baby, I have Company meetings today” He said. “ I’ll go with you” Mara said trying to stand. “ No baby, I’ll take you some other time okay?” He said but she wasn’t pleased with that. “ But….” Vanessa interrupted her. “ Allow him to go” She said and Mara sat down. Alfred kissed her on the cheeks but she wasn’t Happy that he was going out and not with her. “ Bye” Alfred said to Vanessa and she waved her hand without saying a word.

His Assistant was standing beside the door with Alfred’s briefcase, he wasn’t happy seeing the act in front of him. He wondered Why the Boss would decide to live in the same house with Vanessa who was from low class.

“ Let’s go” Alfred said and they left the house. “ How Many Meetings am I attending today?” He asked checking the schedule paper in his hands. “ Three. One this morning, one in Noon and one by 3pm” He said driving. Alfred always prefer his Assistant to drive him everywhere and not the drivers because he feel so comfortable driving with his Assistant who was like a friend to him.

“ Cancel the third meeting” He said passing the paper to him. “ But Boss, it’s the meeting with the Wendy’s” He said. “ Cancel it, I’ll fix another day for it” He said. He knew the Wendy’s were going to send Nala, the last born for the meeting and he’s always trying to avoid that girl. She would create a scene wherever she went to especially when she’s with Alfred. There was a time she hired some reporters To take their pictures Secretly and announced to the world that they were dating, Alfred was so Glad his assistant caught them and made them deleted the pictures from their cameras.

“ I have an important thing to do after the second meeting, outside the company” He said relaxing on the seat. “ I hope it’s not related to Vanessa and Mara” He mumbled. “ Are you saying something?” Alfred asked him. “ No Boss” He said.

After the meetings were over, Alfred and his Assistant left the Company. He told him where they were going but first, they made a stop at a Mall and he bought gifts. They arrived at a house, it was a very big one. Alfred came down from the car and a Teenager ran to him.

“ You’re here!” She hugged him. Alfred patted her head softly and he gave her a smile. She was so happy to see him and she led him inside the house.

Three men were sitting on a sofa, they were elder men and when Alfred Entered the sitting room, they all turned to him at the same time.

“ He’s here” The girl said and left the sitting room. Alfred was offered a seat, he sat after exchanging pleasantries with them. “ You said it was urgent” one of the men said and Alfred Nodded his head. “ Yes , I’m sorry for calling you all here” He apologized. “ It’s okay Alfred, we are your Uncles and like Fathers to you. So tell us what you want to discuss with us” The eldest said. Alfred smiled, he moved closer to the edge of the sofa and locked his fingers together.

“ I’ve found a girl I want to marry” He said and they exchanged glances. “ Wow! Really? That’s so Good” The youngest said. “ And who could that be? Is she from the Wendy’s?” he asked and Alfred Nodded his head. “ No” He said. “ From the Matt’s?” he asked again but Alfred gave the same answer. “ Then she’s from the Jasper’s” He said and they all laughed as they agreed with him. “ No” Alfred said and they stopped. “ If it’s not from any of those first class and richest people then, is it someone outside the city?” The middle one asked and Alfred smiled.

“ No, She’s a Chef” He said and they exchanged glances again. “ Then she own the biggest restaurant in the city. Not Bad, tell us who her parents are” The eldest said and Alfred sighed. He didn’t expect his uncles were still like that after so many years. “ She’s a Local chef” He said. “ You are kidding right?” The youngest uncle asked him. “ No Sir, I’m serious” Alfred said to them. “ You know mother would never approve of this right?” the eldest asked. “ I know Grandma won’t approve and that’s why I came to see you three. You can help me speak to Grandma” He pleaded.

“ Alfred, You are a billionaire. What do you want to do with a local chef? It would even be better if she owns a big restaurant” He sighed. “ Anyways, we’ll have to see the said lady before we can say anything about it” The eldest said and Alfred smiled. “ I’m sure you all will like her, She’s kind and gentle” He stood up from the sofa to avoid any more questions from his uncles.
