“ What?” she asked him. “ Don’t do that” He said and she smiled Mischievously. “ Don’t do what?” She asked him. “ I’m sorry, I was just kidding”” he said and Vanessa laughed softly. “ I thought you aren’t tired of playing” She Released her hand from his grip and went back to the sofa.

She sat down , crossed her legs and put the plate of cookies on her thigh. She looked at Alfred who was sitting on the edge of the sofa, looking at her and she smiled.

“ So, I’m listening” She said. “ I spoke with them already and gave them the details you gave me. Don’t worry, I assure you that they will find them” Alfred said. Vanessa sighed, she shook her head and looked at him again. “ Are you sure they are Good enough to find them? I’m so eager to see them either tomorrow or the next day” Vanessa said and he Giggled. “ What?” she asked. “ It looks like someone is In a hurry to marry me, the handsome guy” He teased and Vanessa Scoffed.

“ And who told you I want to marry you from the first place? You are not the type of guys I want to marry” She said and he rolled his eyes. “ But you promised” He said childishly. “ Is it me you want or Mara?” Vanessa asked him and he smiled. “ At first, I wanted Mara. But now, I want the both of you” She shook her head and sighed. “ You are a pain” She threw one cooking in her mouth again and sighed. “ How I wish I could turn back the hands of time” She Said sadly. “ What would you do?” He asked her. “ I wouldn’t have Follow Tiana to the Bar” She said.

“ I think it’s a Good thing that she took you there” He smiled. “ Why?” She Smirk. “ Because I met you there and.. you know, we had Mara. I’ll compensate her for this if I set my eyes on her” Alfred smiled. “ You must be joking. Anyways” She stood up. “ It’s already late, Good night” Vanessa said and he relaxed on the sofa. “ Okay, Sleep like a baby and don’t forget to dream about me” She Chuckled and went upstairs. He heard her closed the door gently and he heaved a sigh of relief.

“ She’s so cute, I can’t wait to marry her” Alfred said smiling.

Next morning, Vanessa had took her bath and was dressing up when Mara entered the room. Mara was already dressed up and her hairs were packed in a bun, she has Two butterfly ribbons on each bun and a short butterfly gown with chiffon pleats on the edge.

“ Wow!! Look at my baby” Vanessa exclaimed. “ Wow! Where do you get these?” Vanessa asked. “ Good morning Mummy” She greeted before sitting down on the bed. “ They belongs to Amy” She said and Vanessa raised a brow. “ Who’s Amy?” She asked. “ You Remember that girl I was with the day I found Daddy?” She asked and Vanessa nodded her head. “ She’s Daddy’s Niece and I’m staying in her room” Mara said touching the baby Doll in her hand. “ Oh She’s lives here?” Vanessa asked. “ Aunt Bella said she spends her weekends here” Mara stood up from the bed. “ Where are you going?” She asked her.

“ I’m going to see Daddy” She said and before Vanessa could stop her, Mara was already out of the room. “ Oh this girl” She sat down on the bed applying her lotion and thinking about what Mara said earlier. “ I think it’s the girl that he said Mara looks like. I want to see her so badly to be sure. Oh and they already bath and dressed her, that’s so Good. What a relief” Vanessa smiled.

Mara entered Alfred’s room, he was buttoning his sleeves when she entered and closed the door behind her. Alfred turned to see who it was and a big smile plastered on his face as he see his little cute daughter.

“ Oh my God, you’re so cute” He said looking at her. “ Good morning Daddy” Mara kissed him on the cheek and he carried her up. “ You slept well right?” He asked and she nodded her head. “ And mummy?” He asked again. “ she’s in her room, let’s go meet her” She said. Alfred wanted to decline but Mara insisted. “ Okay” He said and they left the room.

As Vanessa was coming out of her room, she bumped in to Alfred and Mara who were trying to Enter.

“ Good morning” Alfred said and she looked at Mara, she knew it was all Mara’s doing. “ Good morning” She said coldly. “ What are you doing here? The road to the Dining is that way” She pointed down the stairs. “ I know, I just want to see your beautiful face before going down” He smiled and she Scoffed. “ I’m not interested” She closed the door and brushed past his shoulder. Alfred watched her as she gently walked down the stairs.

They followed her, breakfast was already been served and so they sat and started eating. Alfred would steal a glance at Vanessa any minutes and she became uncomfortable, she raised up her head and caught him looking at her.

“ What?” She asked him. “ Nothing” He said and continued eating. Vanessa Chuckled, she looked at Mara who was trying to feed the doll on her arms and she Huffed. “ What do you think you are doing?” She asked but Mara didn’t raise her head. “ Mara, I’m talking to you” Vanessa said and she quickly raised up her head. “ Oh sorry, I thought you were talking to Daddy” She said. Alfred looked at Vanessa trying to hold his Laughter. “ What are you doing?” She repeated. “ I’m feeding her” She said pointing to the doll on her arm. “ She’s a doll” Vanessa said.
