Few days later, Vanessa came out of the room all dressed up. She was wearing a plain blue gown with ribbon on the shoulder. Her shoes were low level in black and she hanged her black bag on her am. She packed her hair in to a ponytail and her lips were painted in nude.
“ Where are you going?” Derek asked coming out from the kitchen, he put down the plate of Noodles on the dining take and removed the apron he was wearing. “ Wow! Why an Angel. Are you going on a date with The President?” Derek asked Grinning from ear to ear. Vanessa Chuckled, she adjusted her dress and turned back. “ Mara, come out” She said before turning to Derek.
“ I’m not going on a date” She said to him and he was Disappointed. “ I thought you are going on a date. It would be a sight to behold if Mara’s Dad could see you like this. He will fall over hill for you. Vanessa, you are a Queen, you look so pretty , so wonder and so….” She interrupted him with a wave of hand. “ Enough! I know I look so pretty” She touched her hair which was nearly parked.
Mara came out from the room holding her fluffy Teddy bear, She wore the gown Alfred bought for her few days ago and the shoes. It was a pink and white Ball gown with a pink shoe.
“ Oh My God, Where did these Angels Came From?” Derek Said Looking at both Vanessa and Mara. “ You’re so pretty” He looked at Vanessa’s wrist and looked at her face. “ Where’s the wrist watch? He asked. “ What wrist watch?” Vanessa asked him too. “ The one he gifted you” He said and she hissed. “ And who told you I’m interested in it? I told you I’ll return it back to him when next I see him” she said with a Smirk. “ But…” She interrupted him. “ I Never asked him to buy anything for us”.
“ Anyways, where are you going?” Derek asked for the third time. “ We are going for an occasion, it’s a big one so I dressed up like this to gain myself some customers” Vanessa said excitedly. “ I don’t get it” Derek said looking at her Confusingly. “ Okay here is it, I got a contract to bake cakes for the Wendy’s yesterday. You know them right?” She asked Derek and he nodded his head. The Wendy's were the second most richest people in the city After Alfred’s Family. “ They have a party today and I have to get there before 10am to start baking the cakes with other chefs they hired. I’m going to make tons of money from this and you know what will happen next” She winked at him and Derek smiled.
“ I’m so happy for you Vanessa, you are gifted. I wish you the best of luck and please, Keep an eye on Mara. Don’t let her leave your side” He pleaded and Vanessa laughed. “ Don’t worry about that, I’ll take Good care of her” She said. “ I pray you see Your Daddy there” Derek said to Mara. “ Hey, what sort of thing is this? Don’t spoil my Mood” Vanessa said and Derek laughed. “ I’m Sorry, you should get going now it’s already 8:30am” He said pushing them to the door . “ Bye bye Uncle Derek, I’ll bring you Goodies” Mara said waving to him.
A Taxi was waiting for them outside the house, The Wendy’s were responsible for their chefs Transport and so they had sent a taxi to pick Vanessa up. She entered the car with Mara who was holding on to her Teddy bear so tightly and she smiled.
“ Are you excited?” Vanessa asked brushing Mara’s hair with her palm. “ Yes Mummy, will Daddy be there?” She asked and Vanessa rolled her eyes. “ I don’t know” She answered. “ I missed him, should we go see him today? There’s something I want to tell him” Mara said and Vanessa sighed. “ I don’t know” She said and closed her eyes. Mara didn’t say a word again when she saw that Vanessa had closed her eyes.
Few minutes later, they arrived at the House. It was a mansion to behold. The Wendy’s all loved in one house and so, The house was very big. The driver drove them to an apartment which was the largest in the house, it was the apartment they always used when they had occasions. A sign board was in front of the Apartment which had ' WELCOME TO THE WENDY’S PARTY' written on it. The car parked in front of the building and Vanessa came out.
“ Wow! This house is so beautiful and big” little Mara said. “ Yes it is” Vanessa looked around the house and she saw some people coming out from the car that just arrived. “ They might be part of the chefs” She followed them and before she entered inside the apartment, she looked at Mara and smiled. “ Now listen very carefully, Do not wander around in this house. Stick to me and don’t leave my side” She said and Mara nodded her head. “ Yes Mummy, I wont” Mara promised.
She held Mara’s hand and entered inside the apartment. The Hall was so big to contain millions of people. The Decorators were already doing their jobs by making the hall look so beautiful. There were chairs and Tables which were all very expensive, Vanessa turned to the left and saw four very large Tables which she knew would be used for the foods and cakes. She turned to the right and saw a door with an inscription ‘ KITCHEN' On it. She saw a group of ladies walking towards the kitchen and she followed them.
Immediately she entered, her jaw dropped. She had never seen a kitchen so big as that. A lady called their attention and they all turned to her, she was wearing a long gown which had a slit on the side up to the thigh.
