“ You’re all welcome, My name’s Lillian and I’m in charge of the kitchen. Please make sure you don’t make any mistake in doing your job, our guests are from upper classes and none of them would appreciate it if the foods doesn’t taste Good” She looked at the crowd again and smiled. “ Those of you that came with their kids, we’ve already preserve a place for your kids to be safe. We don’t want to endanger them by keeping them close to the cookers” Vanessa looked around and discovered that almost all the ladies in the room had a child each.
“ kids, follow me” Lillian said and the kids followed her. Vanessa thought Lilian was taking the kids out of the kitchen and when she saw a corner in the kitchen where there were no electrical appliances, she heaved a sigh of relief. The kids sat on a chair each facing their mothers. Mara waved to Vanessa and she smiled and waved back.
“ You can start working, your names are Written on your aprons” Lillian said showing them the aprons which were hanged on the wall. Vanessa’s apron was the first one and so, she put it on and was directed to where she would be Baking her cakes.
Every minute, Vanessa turned around and Mara would wave to her. She was so glad the Wendy’s had arranged everything.
Two hours later, they were all done cooking and baking. The kitchen was filled with the sweet mesmerizing aroma. The kids were given some snacks and drinks, Vanessa stayed with Mara and fed her. When Mara was done eating, she gave her her hand bag and Mara followed her. She picked a tray of Cup cakes while Mara walked behind her , they went out of the kitchen and Vanessa started arranging the cup cakes on the table.
“ They are so yummy” Mara said licking her lips. “ Really?” She asked. “ Yes Mummy, you are a Good Cook” She gave her mum a thumbs up. As Vanessa was busy arranging the Cakes, Mara turned around. She saw someone that looked like her Daddy and she became happy. She wanted to go but Remembered the promise she made to Her mum before entering the apartment.
“ Let’s go” Vanessa said holding the empty tray, Mara followed her inside the kitchen and Vanessa started putting some cakes on the tray to take out again.
An Hour later, The party began. Vanessa stood beside the table watching the people who were dancing. The Wendy’s were so beautiful and handsome, they all wore the same clothes and so were their kids. Vanessa admired them, she wished her Mara would also get the life those kids were having. She looked at Mara who was sitting on a chair Beside her and smiled.

Alfred looked around the hall as if he was looking for someone, the hall was filled with many people and so it was impossible for him to find who he was looking for. He stood up from his chair and a lady approached him.
“ Thanks for honoring our invitation, Mr. Alfred” He looked at her and shook her hand. “ The pleasure is mine” He wanted to leave but she interrupted him again. “ I’m Nala Wendy, I’m sure you remember me” She said and Alfred nodded his head. Nala was the last born of the family, she has always had a crush on Alfred and tried all her best to win his heart but Alfred was so stubborn.
“ Excuse me please” Alfred said when he saw Vanessa going to the kitchen. Nala gave him way and he hurried to that direction. No one was inside the kitchen when Vanessa entered with Mara, she removed her apron and took the bag from Mara’s hand. She brought out a powdered cake and started applying it on her face when Alfred walked in.
“ Daddy!” Mara screamed, she jumped on him and he carried her up. “ Baby, I missed you so much” He said hugging her tightly. “ I missed you too Daddy”. He looked at Vanessa who was so shocked and the powder in her hand had fallen to the floor and broken.
“ What are you doing here?” She asked him and he put Mara down. He moved closer to her, bend down and picked up the remaining powder. “ Here” He put it on her palm and smiled. He looked at her from head to toe and smiled again “ You look so pretty” She Scoffed and moved away from him. “ What are you doing here?” She repeated. “ Aren’t you happy to see me?” Alfred asked her. “ No I’m not. Tell me what you’re doing here” Vanessa demanded. “ You’re happy to see me , I know. I was invited here” He said smiling.
Alfred had recommended Vanessa to Nala Wendy when they invited him to the party four days ago. He knew Vanessa won’t turn down the offer and he would get to see them again. He was so Happy to see both Vanessa and Mara at the party, Mara was wearing the gifts he bought for her and that made him so Happy.
“ Daddy, this house is so big and beautiful” Mara said holding his hand. “ Really, do you want Daddy to buy you this type of a house?” He asked her. “ Nope, Daddy’s house is prettier than this” Mara said and Vanessa Chuckled. She sat on a chair watching Mara and Alfred, Alfred Saw the apron and reached out for it. “ Vanessa” He read the name on the apron. “ Your name’s Vanessa?” He asked her but Vanessa looked away. “ Yes, that’s her name” Mara said. “ It’s a beautiful name” Alfred said looking at Vanessa.
“ Drop that” She pointed at the apron, Alfred put it down smiling. “ Won’t you offer me something to eat?” He asked her and she sighed. “ People will misunderstand the situation if they find you here, please go out” She said worriedly.
