Chapter 19: Chapter 19
Vanessa opened her eyes slowly, She felt a sharp pain on her hand as she was trying to move it.
“ You are awake” She heard a guy’s voice beside her. Vanessa scanned the room with her eyes and discovered she was in the hospital.
“ What Happened to me? Why am I here?” She asked Derek who was now standing in front of her. “ You fainted” He said and Vanessa sighed, He helped her Sit upright and supported her back with a pillow.
“ I’m sorry I put you through all this” She apologized to Derek. “ Oh come on Vanessa, stop saying that” She Looked at the wall clock and turned to Derek. “ You Should get home now, it’s getting late” He sat down on the couch and crossed his legs.
“ If you think I’ll go home and leave you here then, you should stop having that thought. I won’t leave you here alone” He said with his arms crossed.
“ Stop Being So stubborn Derek” Vanessa rolled her eyes and he Laughed softly. They stayed silent for some minutes and none of them say anything.
Vanessa was thinking about Mara and What she was doing by that time. While Derek was thinking of a way to help Vanessa return back to her normal life.

Vanessa was discharged from the hospital the next day, they went home and she tried to persuade Derek to go to work but he refused.
“ You are not strong enough to do things yourself and I know that you will go out of the house on search of Mara if I leave” He said looking straight in to her eyes. “ But I have to look for her” She said, Vanessa wanted to cry again and they heard a knock at the door.
“ Who could that be?” Derek said standing up from the Couch, he opened the door and saw a Man in suite. “ Who are you?” Derek asked. “ Is Vanessa Home?” The man asked instead of answering Derek’s Question.
“ Who are you?” Derek repeated. “ Tell her it’s about her Daughter” He said, Vanessa heard him and she ran to the door. “ You.. where’s My Daughter!” She held his collar and the Assistant staggered back.
“ Your Daughter is in safe hands. Release me if you want to see her” He said and Vanessa Released him. “ Where is she?” She asked “ If you want to see your Daughter, you must follow me” The Assistant said.
“ You want to kidnap her right? I’ll go with you” Derek said to the Assistant. “ Don’t worry Derek, I’ll be fine. He’s the Assistant to the president of GI conglomerate” Vanessa told him. “ The one that took Mara Right?” he asked and Vanessa nodded her head.
“ I’ll come back with my daughter” She Assured Derek before following the Assistant. Vanessa sat on the back as the Assistant drove out of the Estate. After some minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the Mansion.
Vanessa’s jaw Dropped, she had never in her life saw that kind of a house before. She shook her head and came out of the car because she wasn’t there to Admire the house.
“ Follow me” The Assistant said leading her inside the house. He opened the door for her and led her Inside, Vanessa was shocked to see Mara playing with Alfred.
“ Mummy!” Mara ran to her and Vanessa knelt on the floor, she hugged her daughter tightly as tears Dropped from her eyes. “ Baby! I missed you so much” Vanessa said in between tears. She looked at Alfred who was sitting on the sofa, she released Mara and walked to him.
“ Who do you think you are to take my Daughter away from me?” She asked him Angrily. “ I….” she interrupted Alfred who was about to speak. “ You what? How dare you!” She yelled at him.
Bella, the Assistant and the maid who were present there were so shocked. Even Alfred too was shocked, he had never been sorted on by anyone in his entire life and a low class lady was in front of him, shouting at him in his own house.
“ Mummy” Mara held her hand. Alfred stood up from the sofa, he looked at his Assistant and the maids who were present in the scene and turned to Vanessa. “ Follow me” He said but that offended her.
“ Who do you think you are to Boss me around?” She asked him. “” Do you think I’ll follow you? I’m going home with my Daughter!” She turned to leave but Alfred caught her hand. He held her tightly and took her to his study room.
The maids exchanged glances before leaving to the kitchen where they would be free to gossip about what just happened.
Alfred locked the study room immediately he dragged her inside. Vanessa was so Angry that she wanted to hit him but controlled herself.
“ Open that door now!!” She Shouted but he ignored her and walked to the Table. He brought out a paper from the drawer and showed it to her. “ Do you know what this paper is?” He asked her. Vanessa Chuckled
“ Do you expect me to know what paper is that?” She asked him. He moved closer to her and handed over the paper to her. Vanessa stared at the paper confusingly as she had no idea what it meant.
“ That paper in your hand is the Medical result of Mara” He said, Vanessa raised up her head looking so puzzled. “ My Daughter is fine” She said. “ Yes she is. And point of correction, She’s our child” He said smiling in a mischievous way.
Vanessa was shocked, surprised and dumfounded, she stared at him trying to catch the glimpse of what he meant by that. Alfred got the message and he sat down on his chair looking at her. He leaned closer to the take, placed his elbows on it and locked his fingers together.
