Chapter 75: Chapter 75

Tara's POV

The moment I saw my Dad walk into the room, I sprang up and rushed to him shivering in fear. I hugged him tight, and he stroked my hair softly.

"What is the matter, Tara? Who dares make my daughter so sad? Your tears alone are precious Tara, and you're not supposed to waste them" Father continued flattering me, and I found myself smiling. What the f***? I shouldn't even try to smile, not after the mess I just created.

"Father, I don't know what to do anymore. This is really making me so sad" I pouted my mouth while my father dropped the pistol he was holding on the bed, and knelt right in front of me. I was lying on the ground.

"What happened, Tara?" He asked tenderly, and I sniffed hard.

"Father, we need to be prepared for anything because I shot Stone" I summoned courage before speaking.

"What? You shot Stone? Why would you do that?" He widened his eyes in shock, and I gulped nervously. I don't need anyone to tell me that what I did will bring us lots of trouble.

"I'm sorry Dad" I bowed my head with tears running down my cheeks.

"I still don't understand you Tara, what were you doing that you had to get involved with Stone? Have you forgotten how deadly that man is? Do you want to get killed because of him?" Father raised his voice at me, and I burst into tears.

"I wasn't really going to shoot him, but he was mistakenly shot because he took the bullet for someone. This is all Xavier's fault" I wailed helplessly, and Father arched his eyebrows.

"What does this have to do with Xavier? What did he do to my daughter?" Father growled angrily.

Now, I don't need anyone to tell me that the battle line has just been drawn. Even if I hated Xavier for choosing that girl over me, I still don't want him to get hurt.

"You can't… you can't hurt him dad. I don't want him to get hurt" I spoke with a pleading voice, and father blew the smoke coming from the tobacco pipe he was smoking on my face, and I turned my gaze away.

"No one dares hurt my daughter and gets away with it. I can't let this happen" Father jerked up, and I grabbed his leg in tears.

"Kill the slave father. Kill the slave who caused all of this, but spare Xavier for my sake. I can't take it if anything happens to him" I cried helplessly, and Father exhaled deeply.

"Whatever you wish for, you'll get my precious one. Consider the so-called slave, dead" Father said, and smiles escaped my lips.

"Thank you father" I chuckled, and he smiled at me before leaving the room.

"You're so dead, slave girl" I wiped off my tears with a devilish smirk.

Lucien's POV

I glared at them as they hugged each other with so much annoyance. Wait a minute! What the heck am I staring at them like that? Whatever they are doing has absolutely nothing to do with me, right?

"You're… you're awake, Master?" Madison stuttered, and I turned my gaze away.

"What were you both doing? You're not even touched that I'm here because of you, and you are having fun already?" I groaned as I felt a sharp pain on my chest.

"Oh my God! Are you okay, Master?" Madison rushed to me, and held my hand.

I can't tell, but the moment she held my hand, I felt a kind of happiness that I still don't understand why I felt it.

"I'm fine" I snapped at her, and she gulped hard, taking her hands off me. Why the f*** did she do that? Is it because I'm not Xavier?

Just then, the door of the ward threw open. Karl and Derek walked in, accompanied by Emery who rushed to my bed pushing Madison away.

"Oh my goodness! Master? What happened to you?" She asked with a teary voice, and I snatched my hand from her before stealing a glance at Madison. She looked rather sad when she saw how Emery held my hand.

"What are the screams for? Can't you see that I'm alive? Why are you behaving like I'm already dead?" I spoke with a cold voice, and she sniffed hard.

"How did this happen? Who shot you, Master?" She ignored my previous question, and touched my forehead a little. Anyway, I slapped her hand off immediately.

"If you don't stop asking me stupid questions, then I'll have you beheaded immediately" I warned her, and she gasped shifting away from me.

"How did this happen, Stone? I thought you both went to search for Madison, how did you end up getting shot?" Derek continued.

"That cursed Tara" I grumbled, but I had to get a hold of myself because my chest was still hurting.

"Tara?" They chorused, and Xavier nodded his head sadly.

"Tara shot Stone? Why would she dare do that? Does she bear grudges against Stone that made her shoot him?" Karl freaked out, and I turned my gaze away while Madison bowed her head with guilt written all over her face.

"Actually, the bullet she pulled was for Madison" Xavier exhaled deeply, and they gasped.

"Master Stone took a bullet for Madison?" Emery couldn't hold her surprise anymore.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause all of this, and I admit that this is all my fault" Madison burst into tears while the others were still staring at Stone with surprise.

"You shut up! You are the reason why the Master is lying in that f****** bed" Emery raised her hand to slap Madison, but I caught her hand in the air.

"Don't you dare hit her cheek if you don't want to die miserably" I gritted my teeth. They exchanged glances at each other.

Oh, what the f***? Why am I standing up for Madison again?

Madison widened her eyes in shock, still staring at Emery's hand in the air where I caught it...
