Chapter 61: Chapter 61

A whipping silence passed through them when Viona spoke in her Alpha voice. All the goosebumps of her body stood up in attention as her inner beast howled in agony to come out.

They dared to disrespect our mate! Our mate!

Her wolf snarled inside, was so ready to come and show her dominance to others until they hung their heads down in submission. They should know that whom they were talking with.

The pack members were slightly afraid after her revelation and fell silent to avoid any potential fight with the Luna. Viona exhaled a deep sigh, controlled her rage and spoke wandering her eyes across the people in the hallway,

" Is that how you repay to your Alpha? So far..so far..Blood Moon Pack has been the biggest powerful pack of the history of werewolves because of this man whom you have dared to accuse baselessly. What did you expect from him? He should have stood there and watched me getting abused by those men just because they belong to Council? Now when they have stopped funding us, you think that you should leave this pack and join others to live off well. Is that how much loyal you are to your Alpha? I can't believe that Damien has done so much for these selfish people like you all. We have more than two hundred people in this pack. If fifty of us find work in the city, we won't be needing any fund from outsiders. But no! You guys prefer comfort over everything and decided to leave your pack in its worst state. If you think that you are doing right, please go ahead. I don't want such useless members in my pack. If we can lead the pack well, we won't be lacking members."

Viona closed the rest of case with a sneer and swiped her eyes across the people with utmost dissapointment. Shifting her attention back on Damien, she watched his pained expression. She understood that Damien had been hurt by their behaviors. After his parents had passed away, he considered them as their real familiy but they thought of leaving him at this critical state.

Ashley saw through the uneasiness of those pack members. After Viona's logical words, they happened to come back in reality and started to deeply consider everything. Ashley tugged on her month's forearms and shot her a suspicious glare which meant that they would have to do something before the other members took side with Viona.

Meredith's had been well awared of their hesitations. Depending on another flow of their relationship, Meredith scoffed pointing at their weakest spot,

" You haven't even marked by Damien. What made you think that you will become the ultimate Luna of our pack? You don't even share soulmate relationship with Damien."

Meredith was right! Except their marking, their bond was still depending on fragile relationship.

Viona shot her a scornful glare and corrected stressing on her words,

" You don't have to be so worried about our personal relationship, aunty. Right now, the discussion is all about pack house. Since I am the legit Luna and Damien's lawfully wedded wife, I hold the legal right of speaking here."

Viona managed shut Meredith's mouth easily. Averting her eyes at the guilty faced pack members, she gave her final words in a deep voice,

" You have this whole day to consider everything. Now choose! If you wish to go around and stall for another new pack or stay here to live well with the greatest pack that ever lived in Rainford."

Viona placed her final command and urged Damien to follow her outside. She didn't want to see his mood getting affected more. These members had showed off enough of their true colors.

Coming out of pack house, Viona proposed giving him a soft smile,

" Can we patrol together today, Alpha?"

Damien knew that she was trying to divert his attention from this obvious dissapointments. He returned her a soft smile and spoke taking her palms in his grip,

" Anytime Luna! Let's spend the day with just two of us together."

Viona's eyes twinkled in excitement. She repeated his word with an overwhelming smile,

" Together! "

Just as it was decided by them, the couple wandered around the forest for the entire day. So close to mother nature, their wolves were contented and enjoyed each others sole presence gladly. They didn't take their human form until it was dark and the half moon was threatening to come out from the horizon of west.

Viona slipped into her clothes from the dense darkeness and stepped out to sit beside Damien. They were seated in front of the quite river and watched the peaceful night.

Damien's expression was much better as he spoke glancing at her face silently,

" Thank you for today, Viona."

Viona whipped her head aside and smiled,

" For what Alpha? I haven't made any progress in becoming the Luna Queen."

Damien smiled before leaning closer. His voice sounded playful and happy,

" Doesn't matter to me. You made me realize that who is my true familiy today."

Viona shrugged forming her lips into a bitter smile,

" You can't change everyone, Damien. Though pack lives over unity, at the end people would choose lavishing lifestyle rather than a hard one. I just hope that they know what's best for them."

Damien hummed switching his eyes back at the starry sky,

" You are right but it was too unacceptable for me. Perhaps I have started to depend on them too much. Lucky, you were there for me. I am feeling much better now and Ariana...I know that you two are my real familiy. No matter who stays or leave, I know that Ariana will be there for me always."

Viona beamed into a smile and put her head down on his shoulders. Snugging her nose into his shoulders, she spoke in a slightly guilty voice,

" Damien...do you regret that you haven't marked me yet?"

Damien voiced with a doting smile,

" Why would I? You already are more than enough for me."

Viona pressed her lips together as her eyes glistened in genuine happiness. She was really fortunate to have such a reliable mate.

Flaunting her eyes few times, she scooted closer before whispering something sincerely,

" I want you to mark me on the eve of Blood Moon, Alpha. Can you accept that?"
