Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Another sound of vase scattering echoed through the room. Viona flinched at the noise and stepped on the other side to avoid any potential harm. Her brows furrowed and tightened in obvious tension.
Viona never saw such an enraged side of Damien who refused to talk after they came back from the old house. His muscles were pulling in anger and he kept throwing things to vent out his rage. No matter how many sweet words she cajoled, the man kept throwing things.
Viona jumped on the bedside when Damien threw kick on their newly bought drawer. A beastly growl came out from him throatily as she heard him muttering furiously,
" I should have known it..Known it...So stupid of
me! "
People said that when an Alpha was truly angered, the best thing was to stay further away from him. But he was her soulmate and his frustrations affected her mood deeply.
Feeling a little bold, Viona started approaching him slowly and began to initiate a conversation with her tempted Alpha,
" Damien.. listen to me..."
Her rest of words echoed out as a low groan. Without noticing her approach, Damien used a light bulb to throw behind his back. The bulb slided past through her hand and left a short cut on her flawless skin. Warm blood dripped down from her palm and a hiss of pain came out from her mouth unknowingly.
Damien's wolf growled onto him!
< You harmed our mate! Damn it! >
Realization hit his brain as he whipped his head back to stare at Viona whose face was full of pain. Eyes dropped on her bleeding hand, he cursed himself before loosing his mind. Rushing over to her, he took her palm in his palm and started to speak in worry,
" Shit! Viona! I have actually harmed you. What's wrong with me?"
Viona gave her an assured smile. He was looking like he had cut off her throat probably. She reassured in a soft voice,
" Damien! Calm down! It's just a small cut."
Damien wasn't in his usual state of listening her words. He blamed himself eternally and brought her on the bed to sit down before going around to find first aid for her.
Viona gave a helpless sigh behind his hurried back. She watched him bringing cotton and ointment on her side and sat down. Starting to blow her scar, he murmured in an apologising voice,
" I am sorry, love. I wasn't supposed to hurt you. It's..just..my emotions are too unpredictable today."
Viona didn't mind his actions. She could actually tell that Damien had found something important after today's visit in their old house. She tried to lower his worries and asked in a gentle voice,
" It's nothing, really. Mistakes happen. Now would you like to share with your mate, Alpha that what gotten into you today? Breaking things aren't any solution. We have to pay extra for buying this again."
Viona had learnt to worry for this pack. Now they had an unsettled agreement with the council, they would have to run the entire pack without receiving any fund from them.
Damien pressed on her scar tightly and pressed his lips together to speak lowly,
" I am sorry for being a nerd. I found some vision from the death spot. Though it wasn't something essential, I found out that my parents were killed by a vampire actually. So far, I thought that any human hunter killed them to access power."
Viona was quite shocked after the news. In Rainford, they lived under the agreement with the vampires over Asanson City that they wouldn't trespass in their territories without permission. It was undoubtedly a great discovery for Damien.
Viona waited for him to talk and heard him intaking a deep breath. Damien continued rubbing the ointment on her fresh scar,
" You know why I decided to build this pack house here? I always thought that humans are responsible for their murder. One part of myself hated them to core and wanted to creat a boundary line with them. But who knew that they weren't fault at all.."
He spoke before leaving a sweet kiss on her scar. A little smile appeared on Viona's lips as she coaxed tapping on his palm softly,
" Don't blame yourself anymore! You were just unware of the truth. Have you seen the murderer's face? How did he look like?"
Damien fell in dillemma and clutched her palm tightly. Shaking his head slightly, he explained in a dumb voice,
" I don't understand! I tried hard to recognize her facial features but it wasn't possible. I don't know what could be the possible reason behind it. But she was a vampire."
Viona furrowed her eyes in confusion. She knew that vampire possesed mysterious powers than werewolves but this term sounded weird. Having second thought, she reminded something and tapped on Damien's hand to say something,
" I think that I can help you finding out the exact reason, Alpha."
Damien's eyes stared up at her hopefully. She gave him an assured glance before murmuring softly,
" I know someone who can help you out. I will take you to her tomorrow."
Damien's face beamed into a smile. He tugged her closer and thanked after pressing a kiss on her forehead,
" Thanks Luna! I am grateful for that."
Viona sighed before snorting lightly,
" Don't sound so distant! We are mate after all."
Damien hummed before trailing his lips down to capture her lips. Viona whinned when the pain shot through her lips and mumbled something between his hungry something,
" Mmm! I have to discuss something more important..Alpha..hmmm... listen to me first.."
She pushed himself away and spoke panting for air slightly. Her cheeks were already radiating pink blushes as she asked with concern,
" Have you informed the pack about our confrontation with the council?"
Damien appeared dull as he replied exhaling a growl,
" Not yet. I am planning to reveal it tomorrow since it's the first day of month and they will eventually doubt it when we would receive no fund from them."
Viona felt guilty and spoke again with a worried voice,
" Have you decided to say them the real reason?"
Damien nodded before speaking in an arrogant voice,
" Yes, they should know the real reason. If they don't know how to respect their Luna, they should just leave this pack house."
Viona nodded with understanding and felt heavy in her heart. Things would be more complicated when they would find out tomorrow that the council had broken off every relationship with their pack.
