Chapter 97: Chapter 97

I nodded as he steered the stick to the side of the lake where Jane and Shane were already standing there and were waiting for us. He pulled the rope of the engine to stop it and it turned off. I stood up from the cushioned bench and climbed out of the boat.

I turned back around to the boat to see Jake climbing out too. He took my hand and interlaced our fingers, making me look at up to his face. He had a small smile tugging at his lips, "So to lunch?"

I felt my lips spread into a large smile as I replied, "To lunch."

"About time 'cause I'm hun-gry!" Sean shouted, bringing our attention to him.

He has also climbed out of the boat together with Abbey and they were walking towards us. I shook my head with a smile on my lips at his excitement while Jake raised his brows at him. Abbey giggled as Shane nodded his head, and Jane replied, "Yeah, I'm so hungry too."

Shane chuckled, "Alright, let's go eat before you become hangry."

She slapped his shoulder as we all laughed including her. Jake tugged me forward as he said, "I saw a food stand over by the crocodile bridge crossing, let's go over there."

"Okay, Alpha Jake." I replied with a smile at how responsible he was being.

I saw his hazel eyes darken a bit. It was showing that both his wolf and him liked that I was calling him Alpha and giving him the respect and authority that he deserved. "Hmm, Alpha Jake. I like how it sounds coming from your lips."

I couldn't help, but giggle as we continue walking with our friends beside us, "Then I'll keep calling you that, Alpha Jake."

His lips spread into a wide smile, "God, I love how you are such a tease."

I laughed this time just as we reached the food stand. It had a variety of snacks on it including hot dogs, burgers, chips, pies and more. I was about to reply Jake when I saw someone that I didn't expect to see, but wasn't surprised at seeing them.

Stephanie was hiding behind the food stand as she crouched behind the wooden counter. But I could still see the top of her dark hair and her face poking up from it. She must be really stupid if she thought that we wouldn't see her.

"Stephanie?!" I exclaimed, making Jake, our friends and even the man behind the food stand turn to her.

She groaned as she straightened up from her crouched. The food stand man gave her a look that showed surprised and that he had no idea that she was there. Jake's brows furrowed, "Stephanie? Are you spying on us?"

Her eyes widened a bit in fear as if realizing that she had been caught. She immediately changed her expression and shook her head. "No! Of course not, Jake. I was…" She looked around the park as if looking for what she could use for a lie. Her eyes landed on the roller coaster of doom, and she the looked back at him.

"I mean I am here for a ride on the roller coaster, you know, to have fun." She finished her sentence with a fake smile.

"Okay, so you're here with your boyfriend?" He asked as he looked over at the roller coaster then back at her.

"No, uh, I mean… Yes, he went over to get us some drinks while I came here to grab us some snacks." She replied, looking proud of herself for answering the question.

"Okay." He replied tightly since he was still angry at her for drugging us.

"Sure looks like she was spying on us." Jane muttered, making me, Sean, Jake and Shane chuckle, but Abbey kept quiet. She was looking at anywhere, but at Stephanie, probably because she didn't want to talk to her.

Stephanie heard her too and gave her a fake smile as she said, "I wasn't spying on you, Jean or whatever your name is."

Jane gritted her teeth when she messed up her name since we all knew that it was intended just to get on Jane's nerves. She has known them all for such a long time, there was no way that she would forget her name. Jane nodded, not bothering with a fake smile, "Yeah, whatever."

Stephanie then turned to Jake with a large grin, completely ignoring me. "I'll see you later, Jake."

"Whatever." He replied, looking annoyed that she was even talking to him.

His reaction made me smile and we all watched as a scowl made its way to her face. She stomped her foot and turned around to walk away. Sean let out a dramatic sigh, "Thank God she finally left."

We all burst into laughter, and Jake added, "Yeah, me too. She has some guts talking to us after what she did to Max and I."

Abbey looked uncomfortable at the topic change she did the drugging, and I changed the topic. "Yeah, but let's get some food now and talk later."

"Okay, baby doll." He replied, tapping my nose with the tip of his index finger.

Stephanie's POV

"Stupid Jake-stealing Max, stupid back stabbing Abbey." I muttered as I walked away from Jake and his friends, including Max that stole him away from me and Abbey that turned her back on me.

"Well, well, well, seems like someone really hates Max." I herd a deep, entrancing voice say.

I turned my head to my left to see a man dressed in black from head to toe with a black long coat. His dark hair was sleeked back and his face was very good looking, but of course not as good looking as Jake.

You know Max?" I asked in surprise as I stopped walking.

He nodded his head, "Yes, I do and I am on your side."

My lips turn up into a smirk, "I like the sound of that, but who are you anyway and what do you want with me?"

He smirked too, "I am Hades, my dear Stephanie, and what I want with you is simple."

He widening his lips and I saw his canines grow into fangs as his eyes turned red. He looked like a vampire! I couldn't move or do anything out of fear. I stared at him in the middle of the amusement park and as people passed us as if they couldn't see him.
