Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Before we could reply, she ran to Sean and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Wow, well, guess the mate bond also worked on humans. No wonder she liked him so much already. He was still for a second before wrapping his arms around her too.
I looked at Stephanie's table to see her shooting daggers with her eyes at them. Poppy was happily eating, oblivious to what was going on while Cindy was texting someone on her iPhone.
"Sup, Jake. Friday's party was off the charts!" I heard a gruff guy's voice and it drew my attention to him.
I turned my head to the voice to see the dark haired guy that dared Jane to sit on his lap at the party with the blonde guy and another guy with dyed white hair. I've never really noticed them in school before the party, but now that I did, it felt like I've known them before. But where or how?
Was it in Kane's gang? But then if it was, they would be hanging around him and not coming to talk to us. Jake gave him a nod as he glanced at me, saying, "Thanks, Liam, and Max also hosted the party just as the rest of us; it was even in her house."
The dark haired guy glanced at me as Jake looked back at him and our friends watched him. He looked at our friends then returned his gaze to Jake as he said, "Yeah, I know. Sorry that I didn't mention you all. Invite us again whenever you're having another one."
"Sure." I replied as Jake nodded at him.
Lian obviously doesn't respect me enough as a host to see me as one. That was probably because I was a girl and supposed to be Jake's girl, not my own person. Typical jock idealogy. How did I know that he was a jock? Even though I didn't notice him and his friends until now, I could see them wearing their football lettermen jackets like all the sport jocks.
They also appeared to be block heads like the stereotype. No offense to jocks and those that play sports, I know only few are block heads, if not, they wouldn't be able to win a single sport. Jane, Shane, Mike, Alex, Abbey and Sean all watched on quietly as Lian lingered.
Liam glanced at me as he grinned, "Wanna come over to our table?"
I gave him a look that said, 'What's wrong with you?' Jake was sitting right there and I was his girlfriend, yet he was asking me to leave him and go sit with him. Maybe he just wanted to die. I glanced at Jake to see his reaction and he gave him a small, tight smile. "No, she's not coming over to your table or Stephanie's. Why do you want her there anyway?"
Liam let out a nervous laugh, "Chill, man. I only invited her 'cause thought that she's cool to throw such an awesome party. But I know that she's your girl."
"Good." Jake replied with his voice slightly softer.
I shook my head as I wondered why he didn't invite Jake too or why he didn't try to sit at our table. "I can't come with you as my boyfriend said, but thanks for the offer."
Lian nodded as he replied, "Cool with me. Though, you and Jake should totally join us someday."
"Yeah, we're good. If you haven't heard, we're not on good terms with Stephanie and we have our own table." Jake said in a carefree way.
Lian let out a nervous chuckle as he nodded, "Sure, as you say Jake."
He finally walked away with his two friends. I didn't expect him to go to Stephanie's table and give her a kiss on the cheek before sitting down beside her. The blonde guy went to sit beside Poppy and give her a sloppy kiss on the lips while the white haired guy wrapped his arm around Cindy's shoulder. Seeing that made me remember that the blonde guy was Poppy's boy toy at Stephanie's party.
"Whoa! What's going on? Stephanie already has a boyfriend, yet she's going after Jake?" I asked in surprise as I turned back to our table.
"Yep." Jake replied as Mike and Sean nodded, and Jane said, "Yeah, pretty messed up, right?"
"Yeah, and he was also going after you at the party and now me."
"He's a sleaze bag, that one, and delusional if he thinks that Jake or me will let him play with you." Shane said as he glared at Liam.
"But don't worry about him, Max. He's just one of Stephanie's puppets." Jake said to comfort me as his lips tugged up in a slight smile.
Before I could reply, a bunch of girls rushed over to our table, squealing as they looked at Jake. One of them started speaking as she grinned, "Hi, Jake! Just wanted to say that you looked so hot on Friday even though we didn't get to see your abs like Leo or Alex."
My brows furrowed as I tried to process what was going on. These girls had the audacity to come and fan girl over my boyfriend and right in front of me. Jake's lips twitched into a wide and amused smile as he watched my expression. He looked back at them, his smile dropping as he replied, nonchalantly, "Thanks."
The girls squealed and then turn to Alex as one gushed, "And Alex, you were so brave to do that dare, especially when you're so hot."
She giggled at the end of her sentence. So brave? They were just praising him so that they will get him to ask them out. Mike gave them a wide grin too, "I can be brave and hot too."
"Yes!" The girls replied as they grinned at him.
Alex grinned at them as he replied, "Thanks, I can show how brave I can be later tonight."
He winked at them, and the girls erupted in a large scream, fan girling over him. What has this school turned into? I thought as I continued eating my pizza. The girl couldn't reply, she only nodded in excitement and walked away with her friends.
"Way to go, Alex. You just earned yourself a date, and still don't know who your mate is." I said, looking at him with a smile.
He shook his head, "I really don't want to know right now. Not when I'm in my prime."
