Chapter 80: Chapter 80
We did not prepare for what to do once we were caught sneaking in, especially by Max.
Max's POV
My firm stare turned into a glare at the three bimbos, "I asked, why are you here?"
Stephanie flipped her hair over her shoulder and shrugged as Poppy finished climbing in though the window while Cindy looked bored. Stephanie stretched her lips in a smile as she said, "Oh, you know because we wanted to come check up on Abbey and make sure that she's safe from you."
It was so obvious that she was lying because everyone knew that she didn't care about Abbey or anyone for that matter, but herself.
"You're not invited, yet you're here sneaking in and being so rude, so get out, Stephanie." I said through clenched teeth as my wolf and I felt angry at her rudeness. How dare she talk to me like that and especially since I was an Alpha female?
"It's not your party, it's Jake's so you can't throw me out." She retorted, crossing her hands firmly against her almost non existent chest.
"Yeah, what she said." Poppy said in a dumb way that almost made me laugh if not for the circumstance and I was already very angry.
"It's my house and OUR party, so try me and see. I'll drag you out if I have too." I said in a low, menancing voice.
Stephanie looked a bit scared as she stared at my expression before she huffed. "Fine, we'll go."
"Good, and use the door so that everyone can see how you all snuck in without being invited. So pathetic." I said, still glaring at them.
"Ugh! Fine, I already said fine, and FYI, it's so not pathetic." She retorted, looking embarassed and angry.
We all knew it was pathetic, sneaking in to a party that you especially weren't invited to. To top off the embarrassment, our cliques weren't friends and become more like enemies after they drugged Jake and I. I rolled my eyes at her as I waited for them to get out of my room.
Stephanie reluctantly uncrossed her arms from across her chest and started walking towards the door. Cindy and Poppy trudged after her and I walked out of the room then pulled the door shut. The three of them sulked as I followed behind them down the stairs.
We walked down the stairs and soon reached the last step. Everyone in the loving room turned to us since they heard our footsteps even with the speakers raging. The bottle was still in the middle of the circle. Shock showed on almost everyone's face while others looked like they expected it like Jake.
Abbey looked scared while sitting beside Sean. She knew that Stephanie wouldn't approve of their relationship and she shouldn't even need their approval. But we all knew that Abbey let Stephanie boss her around and that was probably because she has something over her head.
If not, she wasn't dumb enough like Poppy to let her boss her around. Abbey quickly stood up from the floor and rushed to us as we all continued towards the door. She placed her hand on Stephanie's forearm to stop her as she said, "Stephanie, what happened? You just came and you're leaving?"
We all paused and Stephanie nodded, glancing at me with a scowl before looking back at her. She put on a fake smile as she replied, "Yeah, we snuck in to make sure that you're okay since you came alone, but Max, here caught us and kicked us out since we're not invited."
The way she said that proved she was a manipulative b*tch. She said it in a way that would make me the bad guy and have Abbey and anyone listening to our conversation think that I was being unfair to them. She was even lying about coming to check up on Abbey, but she told her that to make her think that she cared about her when she didn't.
Abbey glanced at me with an emotion on her face that I couldn't identify, but it looked like she was trying to decide if she should believe what Stephanie said or not. She looked back at her friend, *note the sarcasm*, and said, "Okay, I'll see you three back at yours tomorrow."
A look of disbelief passed over Stephanie's face as she screeched, "What?! You're staying?!"
Abbey looked anxious as she glanced at the floor and then back at her, "Uh, yeah. We're having a lot of fun and I really want to be here."
Her words only made Stephanie more angry as she further protested, "What kind of a friend are you? We're being kicked out, you should come with us too if you're loyal to us."
Abbey shook her head as she lightly squeezed Stephanie's arm in reassurance as she tried to explain to her. "Of course, I'm loyal to you all, but I just want to have some fun for a change and I'm having it right now."
Stephanie's brows furrowed and her scowl deepened while Cindy looked bored as she looked around the room, and Poppy watched their exchange quietly as I was doing. Stephanie shook her head in disbelief as she pulled her arm out of Abbey's grip, "Have some fun of a change you say? Do you mean to say that you don't have fun when you hang out with us?"
Abbey rubbed her arm, looking more nervous as her eyes darted around the room. She replied, "No, no, it's not that, but you always boss me around and make me do things for you that I don't even get any fun time with you guys."
Stephanie scoffed while Poppy nodded in agreement to Abbey. "I do not! I always treat you as an equal of our clique, but someone has to do the hard work and you've proven to be the best."
Abbey looked shocked and angry as she stared at her in disbelief, "What? You're not even going to apologize? You treat me like crap and you know it, but you're defending yourself and saying that I have proven to be the best person to be treated like crap?"
Stephanie cringed, "When you put it that way, I sound like a jerk. You know that I like you Abbey and take you as my friend."
She shook her head, crossing her arms against her chest and looked defiantly at her, "No, you're not! You're a manipulative, selfish and plastic b*tch! And I don't want to be friends with you anymore. I would rather be with my new boyfriend."
Stephanie looked at her in disbelief and shock. She never expected her to act ta hat way or even talk back to her when she gave her decree. "Your new boyfriend? So you met a boy here and now, you're choosing him over me? You think that he can protect you and give you the power that I do in school?"
Abbey looked unsure for a while, but Sean came to stand beside her and she smiled. She turned back to Stephanie, "Yeah, I know that he can and he will."
Another look of shock passed over Stephanie's face as she realised that she was dating one of Jake's friends. She scoffed, "Oh, so you're now with Jake's clique and you think that you're too good to be with us?"
"Stop twisting things around, Stephanie!" Abbey said while Sean said, "Yes, she is too good to be with you."
"Don't talk for her, Sean. Just because you're part of Jake's clique doesn't mean you can take one of mine." She huffed, looking very annoyed. Her eyes moved to me as I watched the dram unfolding so naturally.
"And you, Max, you caused all this. You invited only Abbey so that you can tear me down. But guess what, I can't be torn down because I can live without Abbey."
"Don't you dare talk to her that way, Stephanie!" I heard Jake say from beside me. I turned my head to see him standing there next to me. It surprised me since I didn't even realize when he left his place on the couch and came to stand next to me.
I looked back at her to see her looking scared and nervous. She put on a fake smile as she said, quietly, "Jake, nice to see you."
"Leave before we force you to because you weren't invited, yet you came here to cause drama and insult one of the party hosts." He said in a tight voice with his hands clenched into fists.
She flipped her dark hair over her shoulder with a flirty, fake smile. She said in a low voice, "Okay, I will do anything that you say and give you anything that you want. Anything."
My mouth fell open in disbelief at what I was seeing. She was implying that she would want him to ask her something intimate and she would give him. She was actually flirting with my boyfriend in front of me and while he was kicking her out and reprimanding her. What a senseless bimbo. Her flirting made my wolf and I boil with anger. How dare she try to flirt with our mate?
"Get out, Stephanie." I said through gritted teeth as I stared her down.
Stephanie's face changed at my statement and her smile changed into a scowl. She moved her gaze to Jake and I did too. He was staring her down too, waiting for her and her clique to leave. She clenched her teeth and held her head up high before she started walking towards the door.
Poppy's eyes darted from Abbey and us to her in fear and uncertainty before she quickly followed after her. Cindy looked at us uncaringly, but with some fear before walking after their leader, quickly. Jane walked up to me as she said, "Thank God, they're finally gone."
"Yeah." I replied, quietly and glanced at Abbey to see Sean talking to her in a low voice, most likely comforting her.
"Alright, people. Let's not let them ruin our party. Let's party till we drop!" Mike shouted as he cupped his mouth.
The party guests cheered, some jumping up and down while others shouting, "Yeah!"
Someone cranked up the music and everyone piled over to the middle and started dancing and jumping to the song being played. But I didn't go over there, I was thinking. And it was of the wolf's snout that I saw through the window and how manipulative Stephanie was as I stayed standing where I was.
"Hey, baby doll." I heard Jake murmur and turned my head to him to have my eyes land on his gorgeous face with his lip ring and eyebrow piercings. His hot, muscular body was straining against his dark top and light blue jeans. I felt so glad to have such a hot, caring piece of man all to myself.
I gave him a small smile as I replied, "Hey, babe."
He lifted his hand to my hair and ran his hand through it. I closed my eyes to enjoy the sensation of his hands running through my hair. I opened my eyes to see him staring at me with a soft expression. "Don't worry about what happened. They don't deserve your worry over them, okay?"
My smile widened at how caring he was being towards me and I nodded. "Okay."
He let out a sigh of relief as his own lips widened into a smile. "Good."
He leaned in and pressed a kiss on my cheek, very close to my lips then pulled back. My heart fluttered at the sensation and then I remembered the other reason that I was worried. "A wolf was here earlier, but I don't know who. I'm guessing it's Kane."
He nodded as he moved his hand from my hair to my face. "I won't let him or anyone hurt you."
"I know." I replied, still smiling.
"Let's go back to the party and have fun." He said as he took his hand away from my face then moved it to my hand.
I gave his hand a light squeeze and nodded, "Let's go, bad boy."
He chuckled at the nickname that I used for him and pulled me towards the middle of the room where everyone was gathered, dancing. I followed him as I let out my own laugh. We reached it and started dancing too. He used the hand that he was holding to pull my body against him then let it go.
He placed his hands on my hips as he danced against me. I lifted my arms in the air as I swayed my body and swung my hips to the beat. I looked at his face and his gaze caught mine. We have never danced this close to each other before.
Although, we weren't grinding against each other, it felt strangely, but excitingly intimate and I liked it. I could feel his want as I stared into his hazel eyes and he stared back into my light brown ones. I bit my bottom lip as I noticed how he looked so attractive that night.
His gaze dropped to my lips and after a moment, moved back to my eyes. I couldn't help, but smirk because I loved it when I saw how much he wanted me just like I wanted him. His heated gaze kept mine captive and I didn't realize when our faces became so close to each other. We were now only inches away.
He leaned in to press his lips against mine and anticipated our kiss. But we were interrupted by shouting. We turned around to see some of the party guests chanting, "Truth Or Dare! Truth Or Dare! Truth Or Dare!"
"Wow, those guys really wanna play truth or dare. What do you say, babe? Should we give them what they want?" I asked Jake as I glanced over at him with a teasing smile playing on my lips.
He flashed a grin at me as he said, "Yes, we should, baby doll. What the party guests want, the party guests get."
I laughed at his statement, and he looked over at the guys and girls chanting 'truth or dare'. "Okay, we've heard you, and we're gonna give you what you want. So let's take our seats and start playing!"
The crowd cheered, and I laughed along with Jake. We all made our way back to our seats and sat down. The circle on the floor increased as more people sat down there while others sat on the arm chairs and arms of the two couches. Jake placed his arm around my shoulders as he looked over at them, "Okay, who wants to start?"
The girl with dyed red hair raised her hand up and excitedly exclaimed, "I will!"
