Chapter 79: Chapter 79
Alex surprised us all and stood up as he said, "I can definitely do that."
The crowd erupted and cheered for him and his bravery. The girls giggled as they watched him start stripping off his shirt. Again, my eyes were covered by large, warm hands that I knew now was Jake's. I smirked as I said, "It's not like I would like him that way if I see him."
His hot breath bathed my ear, making a delightful shiver run through me as he murmured, "I know, but I still want only your eyes on me and not anyone."
I giggled at how he was behaving, "Okay, Mr. Possessive, but I wanna see how fun this prank turns out to be and you're taking the fun out of it."
He didn't reply for a while, making me think that he was thinking deeply about what I said. He finally replied after a moment, "Okay, I don't wanna spoil your fun, so I'll let you watch, but promise that you wouldn't stare at his body."
I giggled again at how so jealous he sounded, "I promise, babe."
He let out a breath as he said, "Okay."
He took his hands away from my face and I saw Alex has already stripped down to his underwear. Most of the girls have their eyes glued on his body since our friends were all toned and turning into werewolves made them become even more ripped. He looked at us with a satisfied smile at seeing the girls including Tessa/Tina ogle him.
"I'm going to step outside and do the dare now. Are you guys gonna watch it?"
"H*ll yes!" Some yelled whole others yelled, "Yeah!"
He started walking towards the door and everyone stood up from their seats including Jake and I. We also followed him outside still holding hands. As we piled out of the house, I noticed that the sky was dark blue since it was around 10:00pm in the night. Jake and I stood beside the door as more people walked out of the house.
We watched Alex as he ran to the side of the street and then started running up it in only his underwear. He yelled what he agreed to say, "I did it! I did it! I did it!"
I couldn't help, but laugh and Jake couldn't help with either. In a mere second, everyone was laughing as Alex ran up and then down the street. Some neighbors came out of their houses and stood on the porch, yelling at him to be quiet or they'll call the cops. We laughed even harder then, and Alex finally stopped yelling as he jogged back to us.
Some guys gave him a high five as he passed while others patted his shoulders. Some of the girls oohed and awed at him while others commented, "That was so brave of you, Alex!"
He grinned, loving the attention. I had no idea that he had this daredevil exciting part of him. His willingness to do these dares inspired me to do mine too. The reason that I didn't do the dare was that the neighbors could call my dad and let him know that I was partying if I disturb them with my pranks. But I never backed down from a dare. Unless it was to violate me or embarass me.
"Nice, Alex." Jake said as he raised his free hand for Alex to slap as he reached us.
He grinned and slapped his hand in a high five before walking back into the house to put his clothes back on. We all walked back into the house and made our way back to the living room to see that Alex was already dressed in his clothes again. I stopped in my tracks and looked at Jake, making him also stop and look at me.
"I'm going to go upstairs to the bathroom and be right back."
"Okay, be back soon." He replied, and I nodded with a small smile touching my lips.
I slipped my hand out of his and turned towards the stairs. I started making my way towards it and saw Jane, Shane and Sean walking out of the kitchen holding trays of junk food and drinks. They looked mouth watering, especially the pizza, burger and pop corn. I have to say that they did great with planning the party.
Making my way to the stairs, I started walking up the stairs. I felt someone's eyes on me when I was almost on the top floor. That made me pause and turn around, thinking that it was probably Jake since I knew how much he liked looking at me. I liked looking at him too, the thought made me grin as I scanned the living room and the door area to see who was looking at me, but I didn't see anyone.
Everyone had already gone back to their seats in the living room and Jake was looking at the people in the circle as they talked amongst themselves about the next dare. If Jake wasn't the one that was staring at me then who was it?
I quickly glanced over the people in the living room's faces once again and saw that no one was paying attention to me standing on the stairs. I looked at the window and saw a shadow of something that looked like a wolf's snout. It startled me, and I blinked twice before looking back at it again.
But it was gone. Nothing was behind the window anymore and that made me question whether the wolf's snout that I saw was real or not. I shook my head, it was definitely real. I knew what I saw, but whatever or whoever it was has gone away now. Hopefully. If it was a wolf then it was most likely Kane.
He must be doing that to scare me, especially since we didn't invite him. That wouldn't work with me now. If he tried anything, I was going to rip out his throat before Jake even gets a chance to do that. God, I would love to do that for the pain that he has made me feel.
I sighed as I turned back around to finish walking up the top two steps to the top floor. I started making my way to the bathroom when I heard a noise coming from my bed room. The noise made my brows furrow in confusion since no one was supposed to be in there. I changed my direction and turned right to face my bed room's door.
I lifted my hand and placed it on the door knob. Twisting it, I pushed the door open with my other hand. I was not surprised to see Stephanie and her clique insinde my room. She and Cindy standing inside my room as Poppy was trying to climb in through the room's window from the ladder that she was standing on
"Why are you here?" I asked with a firm stare as I looked at them.
Stephanie's POV
Abbey thought we were going to be fine with not going to Jake's party while she goes. She got that wrong. I didn't even know why Jake would invite only her, but not only me. And even if we said that it was totally fine for her to go without us, that didn't mean that we actually meant it. I was definitely not going to let that Max exclude me from Jake's party for the first time in like ever.
I couldn't believe that she even convinced him to have the party at her house. What was he thinking? She had him all wrapped around her little finger and I hated it. It was probably because she was sleeping with him to get what she wants. If not, how else can you get what you want from a man?
Max stole Jake away from me and exposed my hidden deeds to the school. Oh, she was going to pay one way or the other. But I needed to think long and hard to make a perfect plan first. I might even need the help of Kane since I heard that he was her ex, but then, Cassie was now trying to get close to him. I hated her too since she had a one night stand with Jake and was always clinging onto him.
The two of us didn't meet eye to eye. I only invited her to my party that time so that she could also see Jake come to me instead of her or Max. But that Goth Max spoilt it all when she interrupted us kissing and had him leave me to chase her. Ugh! I hate both her and Cassie, and that meant I would have to find another way to bring Max down and win Jake as a boyfriend.
"Why can't we just use the door?" Poppy voice came, distracting me from my thoughts as she, Cindy and I stood beside Max's house.
Cindy ignored her as she looked at her left hand's long, purple fake nails. I rolled my eyes at Poppy's dumbness, "I already told you that we're sneaking in and crashing the party so we can't let them know that we are here."
"Aw, I hate not being invited to parties!" She pouted and stomped her feet like a four year old.
"Whateves! Let's find a window to climb in." I said as I started walking around the house.
"What about that one?" Cindy asked as she pointed at the living room's opened window. I could see them all having fun and playing spin the bottle. Oh, how I really despised Max!
"No, they'll see us." I said as I looked for other windows on the ground floor, I saw two other large windows, but they were shut. "Let's try those and see if they will open."
"Okay." They both answered as they followed me to the windows. One was in the hall way while the other one was in the kitchen. So we went to the one in the hall way since it was closest to us.
We all stopped in front of it and I looked at Poppy, expectantly. Cindy did too as we waited for her. She looked confused as she looked from Cindy to me, smiling, "What? Why are you two looking at me like that?"
"Open the window." I commanded as I crossed my arms against my hot pink, strapless, short dress. Cindy nodded in agreement as she placed her hand on her white, knee length dress clad hips.
"But why me?" Poppy asked with a small frown on her face.
"Because Abbey isn't here to do it. So open it already so that we can get in before we catch a cold." I said, obviously and in an irritated voice.
There was social hierarchy even in our clique. It was me first, of course then Cindy, Poppy and then Abbey. People thought that Abbey was second because she was always with me, but it wasn't like that. We were together because I needed her smarts and her help to do everything like opening a window for example.
Poppy pouted again and huffed, "Fine."
She moved forward and gripped the window then pulled it up, but it didn't flinch. She tried again, using more strength, but no movement again. Looking back at me, she said, "It's stuck."
"Duh, check the other window." I said as I waited for her to do as I commanded.
She didn't look too pleased to do all the hard work, but she didn't protest this time. She quietly moved to the kitchen window and tried it, but it was locked too. Who in the world locked their kitchen window? I mean, come on, even if you're done cooking, why do that? Apparently Max did.
"Ugh! Now, what do we do?" I groaned, stomping my feet like a four year old too.
Cindy looked at me with her stoner eyes as she pointed her thumb behind her, "We could use that ladder over there to climb up to the top floor."
I moved my gaze to behind her and at where she was pointing to see a ladder lying against the garage's door. I grinned as I looked back at her, "That's brilliant! Let's do it."
No wonder I I liked hee more than the others. I glanced back at Poppy who was also now looking at the ladder, "Go bring it over here, Poppy."
She looked at me with a small frown before quietly walking to the ladder. She looked at Cindy as she said, "Cindy, help please."
Cindy groaned, "Ugh! Fine."
She walked over to the ladder too and they both picked it up as I watched them. They walked towards the house and placed it right under an opened window that we could see from where we were.
I walked towards the ladder and looked at Cindy then Poppy, "Hold the ladder still so that I can climb it first and then Cindy. Poppy, you can come up after we go in and hold the ladder from the top for you."
"Okay." They both replied at the same time and each of them gripped onto each side of the ladder.
I placed my hands on it and then my left leg then my right leg. That was how I started climbing up the stairs. It wasn't long until I reached the top. I was surprised to see that it was the window to Max's room and that her room actually looked normal.
I thought that as the school's bad girl, her room would be so dark and Gothic. Gripping the window seal, I threw one leg over it and then the other before finally and successfully getting in. I glanced down the ladder to see that Cindy has almost reached the window.
She must have started climbing it while I was still on it when I specifically told her that the two of them had to hold the ladder steady for me to climb up first. I knew it was selfish, but I didn't care since I was a 'me' kind of person and I always came first no matter what.
I glanced at Poppy to see that she was holding both sides of the ladder with the two of her hands. Looking back at Cindy, I saw that she was already climbing through the window. I crossed my arms as I waited for her and Poppy to climb in. She did easily and gripped one side of the ladder from the top and I rolled my eyes as I did the same so that Poppy will climb up.
She started climbing up, but the ladder wobbled a bit, but we held it tighter. It wasn't very steady since we were holding it from the top. Poppy quickly climbed up the steps of the ladder with a scared look on her face. When she reached the last step, she lifted her leg to climb through, but her high heels hit the window.
It made a clonk sound and she winced, "Ow!"
She tried again and successfully threw her leg over the window seal. But the door the bed room opened at that moment and Max walked in to our surprise and bewilderment.
