Chapter 60: Chapter 60
I was guessing that it was harder to heal because the vital places were bone. I swiftly leaned to the side and raised my glock as I aimed for the other buff guy. Pressing the trigger several times, I fired two shots at his knee and wrist of the hand that was holding his gun. Empty bullet cartridges dropped on the ground one by one as I shot at him.
He screamed as he dropped the gun, and I wasted no time in moving to my next target. The girl next to him that was firing shots at us. I pressed the trigger and fired a shot at her ankle then moved my gun smoothly to her collar bone and then her arm. Bullet catridges dropped on the floor as I pressed the trigger each time.
She yelped and fell down because of her injured ankle. Her arm started healing immediately while her ankle and collar bone refused to heal. She placed her hand over her ankle and gripped it as her face contorted in pain just as the buff guy's face contorted in pain.
She didn't want to feel any pain, yet she was inflicting it on others. Before I moved to the next girl, I saw several shots fired at her knee and wrist. I leaned back against the wall and glanced to the side to see that it was Jane and Mike firing the shots at her.
Alex, Sean and Shane fired at the last girl and lean guy in vital areas just as we had done. I looked at Jake as he leaned against the wall beside the window just as I was doing, opposite him. His gaze met mine as we both breathed heavily from shooting and the tension of the fight.
But I have to say that even in the middle of a gun fight, he looked hot. His shirt sticking to his muscular torso, accentuating his abs and tattooed biceps. His lips slightly parted as he breathed through his mouth as well while his hazel eyes looked fierce in concentration.
I let a small smile touch my lips since I knew that we have already won the fight. His own lips tugged up into a small smile. I nodded and leaned to the side to look out the window with my glock held tightly in my hand, facing up. What I saw confirmed my belief. The supernatural gang members that attacked us were dragging themselves into their cars in a hurry.
The two buff guys were already inside the black Jeep, the three girls were trying to get into the yellow Jeep as our gang kept shooting at them. Same goes for the two lean guys that were trying to get into the back of the black Jeep. Shane, Sean, Alex, Mike, Jane and Drake kept shooting, and some shots crashed into the windows of their Jeeps.
The windows broke just as the ones in my house did. But the others didn't stop shooting until the two Jeeps pulled out of the parking lot. I moved away from the wall just as Jake strode the few feet between us and cupped my face in his large hands. He looked me over with a worried expression before his gaze finally settled on my face.
"You okay, baby doll?"
I gave him a reassuring smile as I replied, "Yeah, I wasn't hit. But I don't know what I'll do about these broken windows. Dad's going to be really pissed."
His own lips tugged up into a smile as he stepped closer and leaned his head down to brush his lips against my forehead. He pulled back, but didn't drop his hands from my face, "Don't worry, baby doll. I'll have them fixed before tomorrow."
I felt surprised that he said that, "Oh no, I don't want to burden you. I'll just use a cardboard or wood or something to board them up."
He shook his head as he maintained his smile, "No need for that, I want to fix them for you and I will. Just accept my kindness towards you, my mate."
I chuckled softly and nodded, "Okay, I will, my chivalrous mate. Thank you, this really means a lot."
His lips tugged up in a smirk as his gaze moved to my lips. He moved his right thumb to brush my bottom lip and my tummy squeezed in delight as butterflies burst in it. His gaze traveled up my face to reach my eyes again as he murmured, "It's fine, baby doll. I can do so much more for you. Whatever it is that you need, you can let me know and I'll have it done."
I raised an eyebrow as a teasing smile touched my lips with his thumb still against my bottom lip. That action made his eyes move back down to them. A second passed before he moved his eyes back to mine. "I would love to, but remember that I am an independent woman."
A deep chuckle sounded from his lips and he moved his thumb away from my lips then dropped his hands that were cupping my face. "Of course, how can I forget? That's also one of the reasons that I fell for you."
I felt my lips stretch into a grin, "Good and your confidence made me fall for you too."
His lips widened into a large smile as well, "Like I said, we're very alike. But your independency won't stop me from helping you."
"I know." I replied, and he nodded then took my hand to interlace our fingers.
"Let's go over to the others."
"Okay." I answered as we turned around to face the others that were by the farther window.
As started walking over to them, I noticed that Drake was laying down on the ground as Jane kneeled beside him, dressing his wounds with items from a first aid kit beside her. Shane was standing and hovering over them, looking worried. Probably, concerned that there might be a moment between them.
I have never seen Shane acting so possessive, it was refreshing. Alex, Mike and Sean were already back on the couch as they talked about the shooting that just happened.
Leo was sitting on an arm chair with a concerned look on his face as he looked deep in thought. The attack must have shaking him. Even as a mystical creature, he has probably never seen such violence with guns before. I turned my gaze back to Drake that was lying on the floor as we reached him.
"Hey, man. How are you holding up?" Jake asked him with a slightly worried expression.
