Chapter 57: Chapter 57
Drake looked shocked; his eyes widened and betrayal flashed across them as he looked at Shane. "I see, she was always meant to be yours and not mine."
Shane looked uncomfortable as he said, "I'm sorry, man. I didn't plan this, and I would never have. But Faith did, and there's nothing that we can do about it."
"Yeah, nothing we can do." Drake said as he looked between the before finally settling his gaze on Jane. "I hope you've found happiness, Jane and I am glad that it's Shane that's your mate, I know that he'll treat you right."
I was surprised that Drake was taking this surpringly well, but I guess that the fact that it was Shane also calmed him down. Shane was very cool and collected, always gentle and caring, although he joked around sometimes like the others. And probably the fact that he had his own mate out there.
Jane looked relieved as she smiled at him, "I am glad too, and thank you for accepting things as they are. I also hope that you find your mate and happiness with her."
"Me too." Drake replied as he smiled back before glancing at Shane. "Treat her well, man."
"I will." Shane said, firmly, and I looked at Mike, Alex and Drake. "Why didn't you guys text us that Kane enrolled here?"
Alex grimaced as he turned to look at the school's double doors. He looked back at us as Mike sighed while Drake gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry, we tried to, but it wasn't going through 'cause of your road service."
Alex nodded to Mike's statement as he added, "He isn't the only one, he came with some other guys. They're trying to steal our vibe in this school. It's awful."
Jake's brow rose as he shook his head, slowly, "They can never steal our vibe, we created it and no one can take it, especially not Kane."
"Yeah, if he thinks that because he's also in a gang, he's going to be us then he's got another thing coming for him." I added with a slight frown.
"For sure, we're not gonna let him win." Sean said as he looked excited.
"I don't even know how we're going to coexist in the same school." Shane said as he sighed.
Jane nodded, "Yeah, We're going to be fighting all the time."
Jake shook his head, "Kane wouldn't dare start a fight, not now that we're werewolves and he knows that I'm Alpha."
"Yeah, he didn't even fight back when you punched him just now." Sean said, as understanding shown across his face.
"Yeah, that must be why." Mike agreed as smile shown on his face. "We have Alpha bloods, so we're untouchable to even werewolves."
We all burst out laughing at his statement, and I added, "Except those werewolves that also have Alpha bloods."
"Yeah, but we're still stronger." Mike replied as he snapped his fingers and pointed his index fingers at me.
I chuckled softly, "Yes, we are, Mike."
"By the way, who's kid is this?" Alex asked as he looked at Leo who was staring up at them with large, wide eyes.
Jake grinned as he said, "Max's mystical creature."
"What?!" Mike, Alex and Drake asked at the same time, looking shocked.
Sean grinned as he excitedly said, "Yeah, guys. You're not gonna believe what happened. We met a giant lion with wings at the River of True Mates and fought him. So he turned into this little guy over here and promised to be Max's guardian 'cause she stopped us from killing him!"
"Wow!" Mike and Alex exclaimed at the same time, looking amazed and in awe as they stared at Leo who was grinning at them. Drake looked amazed as well as he said, "That sounds so fantastic!"
"Yep." Jake replied, and I nodded while Shane said, "And that makes us one step higher than the Drillers gang."
"Definitely!" I said then looked over at them, "Let's go to mine and hang out. We can call the twins from there."
"Yeah, let's go." Jake said, and the rest answered, "Yeah!"
Jake and I separated and I walked around the car to the passenger's seat while the rest went to their cars including Sean, Shane and Jane who had left theirs there yesterday. I climbed into the car as Jake climbed into the driver's seat. He started the car as I looked at the back seats to see Leo already there, looking at me with his wide, innocent eyes.
"How do you find our other friends, Leo? Do you like them?" I asked as I smiled at him.
He smiled back, looking excited which made him look so cute. It was hard to believe that he is actually a giant lion with wings. "Yes! I like them as they seem to like me, especially that Sean. He knows how to show his likeness for things, it makes me like them too!"
Jake and I chuckled, and he nodded as he said, "Yeah, Sean does know how to keep things lively."
We soon arrived at my house and Jake stopped the car as he parked in front of the garage. We all opened our doors and climbed out as I saw the others park their cars at the curb. They climb out of their cars as well and met up with us. Together, we made our way to the front door.
I placed my hand in my skinny jeans pocket and brought out my house keys as we reached it. Placing it in the key hole, I twisted it and opened the door. I walked in first, followed by Jake, Leo, Alex, Mike, Sean, Shane, Jane and Drake. Sean took in a feel breath and released it as he exclaimed, "Home sweet home!"
We all laughed at his dramatics, and I said, "Yeah, home sweet home indeed. Sitting in the car all day is no fun."
"At all." Jake said as he raised his brows and let them down. I turned to him and smiled as we made our way to the living room. Sean, Jake and I sat down on the couch while Shane and Jane sat on the two sitter. Alex, Mike and Drake sat on the other three arm chairs.
