Chapter 24: Chapter 24

We all laughed at her reference since of course they were all not very smart except Abbey who scored Bs on tests. The rest managed with Cs or D's while Poppy was constantly failing. But sometimes her grades would change, saying that they were remarked. Some students said that she was sleeping with the teachers to get a higher mark. She was dumb and a slut, she could do it, but I really don't care.

"Yeah, you missed a show." Mike said, still laughing.

"Yep, Stephanie was about to lose it because she was so jealous of Jake giving Max his attention." Sean added.

"And when Max said that she didn't want to go to her stupid party after she asked her rudely since Jake refused to go unless Max was invited too." Alex added, and Jane sat down beside Drake as she shook her head.

"Nice going, Max because that girl needs someone to put her in her place. She thinks that everyone is itching to go to her party because she's popular. But not really."

"Yeah, we go because she throws great parties, not 'cause of her or her little clique." Jake said, bringing my gaze to him.

"I can see that. She seems very unlikeable." I replied, and Shane snorted a laugh.

"More like annoying." We all laughed, and Jake looked at me as our laughter died.

"Besides, I don't even attend their parties all the time, but Sean and Mike here are wild in parties. A party can't be fun without them." He said as he glanced over at them.

"Yeah, a party isn't a party without us." Sean gloated, holding his head high from Jake's praise. That made me giggle.

"And the girls love us." Mike added, and Jane looked over at him.

"What girls?" We laughed at his expression of disbelief and shock.

"Relax, Mike. I'm joking. We all know that the girls are dying to be with you." Jane said, leaning closer to Drake who wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"Why do I sense sarcasm in your tone?" He asked, narrowing his eyes playfully.

She laughed and I laughed along with her. They were so funny that any amount time with them is fun. Jake glanced over at me with a small smile, "Don't get worried over Stephanie or her group. They can't do anything to you when you are with us."

I smiled back, "Thanks, Jake. But I'm not really worried. She's not that important."

Jake smirked at me while the other chuckled, "That's the bad ass bad girl that I know."

I chuckled and shook my head.

"Yeah, you don't have to be worried. It's just as Jake said. No matter how mean she is, you are untouchable to her or her group." Alex said, and I glanced at him as I nodded.

"Yeah, she thinks that she can play Regina George from mean girls, but she can't pull it off." Jane said and the others nodded while I giggled and Jake grinned.

"I don't think anyone can pull off being Regina George." I said, and they all smiled.

That was how lunch went, we laughed and joked around as we ate the food in the tray that Jane got us.

After school, we were all at my house as we had planned to hang out there from now on and stay there for the change. The rest seemed to have forgotten about their first change into wolves was that night, but I didn't. I kept thinking about how we were going to continue our lives as werewolves all the way through school and the way home.

"You said that you were going to tell us what you found out in your research." Jake's voice beside me took me out of my thoughts and to him. We were sitting down on the carpeted floor in a circle. Sean was sitting on my other side then Mike and Jane with Drake while Shane was sitting beside Jake then Alex.

"Yeah, I forgot about that. Give me a sec to pull out my phone." I said as I placed my hand in my left jeans' pocket and pulled it out.

I tapped on the screen and it came on. I went to the browser to the page that I saw the article about werewolves and how to control their wolves. It loaded and I stretched the phone towards Jake. "Here."

The others huddled closer as they all read the content of the page. The article was hard to find when she was researching last night, but she found it eventually. It was talking about how werewolves need to concentrate their minds and command their inner wolves to do as they pleased. Since their wolves are also part of them and shared their mind. That was all they needed to do in wolf form and human form.

After reaching the end of the short article, they all went back to their previous sitting positions. Mike furrowed his brows as he looked at me, "But how do we know what this article is saying is true?"

"We don't." I said with a sigh.

"We don't, but we have to try it to see if it works 'cause we really need to learn to control our wolves." Jake said, bringing our attention to him.

"Yeah, you're right." I replied and Alex sighed, "I wish someone that knows about all these would teach us. I feel so clueless."

"Yeah, me too." Sean said, and Mike nodded in agreement.

"Okay, enough of this gloominess. We need to liven up, you guys. We actually have super powers now and we should be happy about that." Jake said as he looked at each of us.

"Yes!" Sean punched the air as he nodded. We all laughed at his excitement and Mike added, "It's going to be awesome!"

"For sure." Jane said, and Drake grinned.

Shane shook his head while Alex was still laughing and Jake was looking at me with an unreadable expression.
