Chapter 23: Chapter 23
It shocked me that these bimbos would actually approach our table since I have never seen that happen since I started East High. Jake and I stopped laughing as their high heels clicked on the floor as they stopped in front of us. Their over the top, sparkly, bright pink outfit that they were always wearing shown so bright that they almost blinded me.
Stephanie was in a skirt as well as Poppy while the other two were in shorts. Those shirts and shorts were too short to fit the dress code, but I guess if you're rich in this school, you can do whatever you want. Stephanie had dark hair and liked to act like the Queen Bee. But everyone knew that she couldn't really do anything or have any real power in the school except Jake's gang allowed it.
They hold the real power especially since they don't bully others like the mean girls even though they were dangerous. Abbey was the smart, quiet one that always did what Stephanie did with no questions asked. Poppy was the dumb one, but shocker; she's not a blonde. She has brown hair and was the slut of the school along with Stephanie who did it secretly, but of course, everyone already knew.
Cindy was the druggie. She always had bags under her eyes that she tried covering with concealer, but they still showed. She thought that no one knew that she was addicted to smoking pot and doing drugs of any kind, but everyone knew that too. That was because she was always doing that especially at parties just like the other girls.
They thought that they were fashionable, but not really. Still, many girls at the school worshipped the ground that they walk on while others hated them. The guys didn't care much about them except they were looking for a booty call. And it was the guys that told everyone how almost all of them slept with Stephanie and Poppy.
No one was shocked when they found out, and most of the school didn't like any of these bimbos. As for our gang when I asked them how they felt about them, Jake said that they don't care as long as they stay out of our way. It made sense and we were known for not caring about what anyone did or thought.
Stephanie glanced at the small space between Jake and I with a disapproving look. I raised my eyebrow, who died and made her boss? She didn't acknowledge my eyebrow raise, but turned to Jake. She smiled at him as she said in a small voice, "Hey, Jake. I want to invite you and your group to my party that I'll be having on Friday night."
She turned to me and pointed a finger with a long, pink nail, "Except she isn't invited since you know, she has never been introduced to us."
I knew that wasn't the reason that she didn't invite me. It was because she thought that I was a threat to her. Even though this was my fourth week, Anna already told me how much Stephanie wanted to be Jake's girlfriend. She even asked him out in front of everyone in class the year before, probably thinking that he had to accept. He turned her down of course, Jake being Jake.
I gave a sarcastic smirk when I saw her pointed finger towards me and heard her statement. Jake shook his head at her act, "I'm not going unless Max is going."
"Fine." Stephanie said to him, looking then rolled her eyes as she turned to me, "You're now invited, Max."
What a rude bimbo. Who did she think she was? That made me so angry and I knew that I wouldn't accept being treated that way. "No, I'm not going."
Stephanie looked angry as she blew up in my face, "Who do you think you are, Max?! You're even lucky that I invited you! Do you know how many people want to go?!"
"I don't care about that or your stupid party!" I yelled back as I felt so angry. I could feel my wolf coming to the surface as I trier to control it.
Jake also noticed it too and took my hand in his. He leaned sideways as he whispered to me, "Calm down, abbay doll."
I took in a deep breath and let it go. I looked back at Stephanie to see her looking shocked and even more angry. She probably didn't expect me to react that way or that Jake would take my hand. Then her demeanor suddenly changed and she calmed down like she had thought of a plan. She looked at me with a fake smile and said through clenched teeth, "Max, please come to my party because I want all of his group of friends there. We can get to know each other there."
I looked over at the rest at the table that were watching our exchange. They probably wanted to go and I shouldn't prevent them from going by saying no. I looked back at Stephanie, "I'll be there."
"She will be there and we will be too only if you promise to be nice with her." Jake said, bringing our attention to him.
"Of course, Jake." Stephanie replied as she grinned at him, genuinely this time. Make ignored her and looked over at me as he asked, "You okay?"
"Yeah." I replied, knowing that he was asking about my wolf. I turned back to Stephanie to see her flip her hair and turn around when she saw that Jake didn't pay any attention to her. She strutted away with her lackeys following after her.
That was when I realized that Jake was still holding my hand, I slipped it out of his, and he sighed, but didn't comment. I looked over to the guys at the table just as Jane came back to our table, holding a tray full of food. "Hey, I just saw tweedledum and tweedledummer with their twin sisters leave here."
