Chapter 22: Chapter 22
I giggled at Jake's reference even though he was being serious, and Drake said quietly, "Noted."
The rest nodded in agreement. That was when I realized that we have reached the hallway junction where we will have to split up to go to our classes. We all stopped right in the middle. "We're going to Bio, see you at lunch."
That was Jane, and Drake added, "Bye."
"Bye." I replied while Jake added, "Catch you then."
They turned the right corner, and Sean spoke up next, "I'm going left, later."
"Me too." Alex said as he walked with Sean to the left corner.
"My class is over here, I'll see you guys at lunch." Mike said and walked towards the first classroom on the left.
"And I'm going straight, bye you two." Shane said with a grin as he glanced at Jake and I before walking past us to go forward.
"Bye, Shane." I said as Jake said, "Later, dude."
He turned to me with a smirk playing on his lips, "Well, it's only you and me now, baby doll."
"Are you sure about that?" I asked with one eyebrow in question. "Our morning classes are probably not the same."
"Yes, I'm dead sure. I already know your schedule and it says that we are having maths together."
I felt surprised that he knew my schedule, "But how did you know my schedule?"
"I'm the school's bad ass bad boy, of course I can get anyone's schedule." He said in a teasing tone.
I laughed, shaking my head, "That means no person of authority in this school will give you other student's schedule."
He laughed too, raising both hands up in a surrender stance, "Okay, you got me. I checked your schedule last night when I saw it peeking out of your back pack."
I laughed again at his cockiness, and he took my hand then pulled me straight as he said, "Come on, let's not be late again."
We turned a right corner and entered the second classroom there. The maths teacher, Mr. Carter was sitting at his desk, reading through some papers. He didn't even seem to notice us enter. The class was noisy as the students talked amongst themselves, but they all paused and turned to stare at us as we walked to our seats.
The silence made Mr. Carter look up and see us, but he didn't say anything. He continued his work and the students also continued talking with their friends. Jake and I reached our empty seats at the back and sat down. Anna turned around from two row in front of us and waved at me with a smile.
I raised my hand and gave her a small wave. She turned back around and I opened the covee of my desk and pulled out a note book. I have not been as close to Anna as I was before since she was afraid of our group even though she didn't even know that we were in a gang yet. She told me that she didn't want to get involved with them, though she knew that I was nice. So I let her be.
Since she couldn't accept me or my friends the way we are as the scary group in school then she probably wouldn't accept me as a werewolf. And that's not what true friends were. But I didn't mind letting her go since Jake was back in school. I would rather stick with him since he understood me and has been there for me in the way that Anna couldn't be. He was the definition of a true friend.
The bell rang as I close my desk cover and placed my note book and pen on it. I looked over to Jake to see him leaning back on his chair with arms crossed against his chest as he looked at the board looking bored.
"In today's class, we're going to talk about Trigonometry." Mr. Carter's gravely voice took my attention away from Jake and to him as he started the class.
At lunch time, Shane, Jake and I walked towards our table inside the cafeteria. It was filled with students sitting at long tables while others were standing in line to get food from the lunch lady. I saw all our newly formed gang members there at the table except for Jane. As we reached them, they looked in our direction and greeted us.
"Hey." Mike said, Alex grinned, "Finally made it."
"Shut it, Jones." Shane said with a smile that we all knew that he was joking.
"It's true. It took you guys forever to come here." Sean said and Drake nodded in agreement.
I sat down beside Sean and Jake sat down beside me. He took my arm and drew me closer to him. I glanced at him, confused as to why he had moved me away from Sean and closer to him. But he only shurugged. He glanced at Sean as he answered him, "Yeah, the Geo teacher kept talking and talking, had to keep us there until he was done."
"Man, I hate Geography." Drake said, shaking his head.
"Good thing that you don't take it then." I said and he nodded, looking grateful that he really wasn't.
Suddenly I felt something on my shoulders. I looked to the side and saw that it was Jake's arm. I gave him a weird look as I grabbed his arm and took it off my shoulders. Leaning into his side, I whispered, "Don't act like my boyfriend."
He leaned closer until our noses were almost touching as he replied, "I will soon be, baby doll."
I laughed as I shook my head at him, and he laughed too. Just then, I spotted the school mean girls approaching our table. AKA kids with superiority complex. Stephanie Abbey, Poppy and Cindy reached our table. They were also rich like our gang, but they were mean. They bully other kids because they thought that they were better than them.
