*Some Weeks Later*

Ellie came out of the bathroom. She looked around for her phone and saw it on lying on the bed. She went towards it and picked it.

Ever since they left their granny's place. Life has been good to them. They almost had problems adjusting to this kind of life. But it was nothing since Ellie already had a taste of it. They tried urging their granny to come live with them but Racheal insisted that she should stay at her place and that they could come visit her since she was always home.

Elsa was worried that she will all lonely so she promised her that she would always visit her.

Ellie went through her contact and saw Crystal's name with a love emoji close to it. She smiled and clicked on it. It started ringing. She placed the phone close to her ear.

“Hey, babe.” Ellie greeted with a glint of mischief in her eyes.

“Who is this speaking?” Crystal said, not knowing who it was since it was an unknown number. Ellie smirked.

“And who do you think is speaking?” She teased.

Crystal furrowed her eyebrows and thought for a while. “Betty?” She guessed.

“Betty?!” Ellie remarked incredulously and stood up from her queen sized bed.

“Wait… I know this voice. Ellie!” She yelled. Ellie rolled her eyes.

“Yeah, yeah, it’s me.” She answered.

“Oh my goodness, Ellie. You have gotten a new phone.” She said still surprised.

“Yeah. Lots of things happened. Will you love to visit me?” She asked as she saw Elsa come into the room. She was dressed in designer flora gown, with a Christian Dior bag marched with a Louis Vuitton wedge.

Elsa looked around and picked her purse.

“Hey, where are you off to?” Ellie asked as she put the call on a hold.

“I want to visit Claire and granny.” Elsa asked while adjusting her wristwatch.

“Ohh, okay.” Ellie said and returned back to her call.

Elsa waved subconsciously at Ellie before walking out of the room.

“Okay, Crystal I will call you back later. Take care.” Ellie said and disconnected the call. She went through her contact list again and saw Jake with a smiley face emoji. She grinned and clicked on it.

It rang for a few seconds before she heard his gruff voice. She wrinkled her eyebrows with a frown.

“Hey, Jake.” She called out.

“Who is this speaking?” He asked without wasting time.

“Hmmm, it is me, Ellie.” She answered. His question caught her off guard making her forget the fact that she wanted to tease him.

“Ellie?” He asked. She could visualise his facial expression.

“Got a new phone already?” He asked.

“Yeah.” She nodded with a response.

“I actually came over to your place the other day but did not or rather could find you.” He told her.

“Oh, about that place. We no longer stay there. I can send the address of my house if you want.” She suggested.

“Yes, sure. Please do.” He said.

Then suddenly, Ellie heard a beep on Elsa's phone. She went towards it and picked it.

“See you tonight at 7:30 PM.”

Ellie wrinkled her eyebrows as she read it loud.

“Huh?!” Jake asked from the other end.

“Uhm, not you. Just a message. You know what I will call you later.” She said and ended the call.

She read it again.

“When did they become this close?” She thought.

“They were going on a date?”

She shook the thoughts off her head and texted the address to Jake.

“Seen, thanks.” He replied her. She smiled.

Jake parked his car in Aria's compound. He did not tell her he was coming so all he just wanted to do was surprise her. He had had a fight with his mother in the early morning.

She had come with her usual excuse of going on a business trip. He said some outrageous words that earned him a slap from his mother. He barged back into his room without listening to her.

He got down from the car and picked Aria's bag. She had forgotten to take the other day she came to his house. Aria had given him the address of her house, not knowing he could come anytime.

He walked towards the door and just as he was about to knock, he heard some giggling and chatting. He furrowed his eyebrows as he listened to what they were saying.

“Mom, if you see how surprised she was when she saw me.” Aria spoke up first.

“Let me tell you. Evelyn has always had this sharp memory when it comes to things like that.” Her mother said.

They were obviously discussing his mother. But why?

“Mom, you don't need to worry. She can't come back into dad's life again.” Aria assured her mother with a pat on her shoulders.

“I know. He is mine and mine alone.” Her mother added.

Jake was angry. How dare they say something like that?

He really did think highly of Aria?

Didn't he?

He pushed the door open without knocking. Aria yelped up in surprise at the impact.

They both turned towards the door in shock.

“Who…” The words were caught up in their throats. Aria gulped nervously.

Did he hear our discussion?. She thought.

Jake calmed down and released a deep breath. He handed the bag in his hand forward.

“You forgot your bag the other day you came so I decided to come return it to you.” He said and Aria walked towards him with slow steps.

“Jake.” She greeted as she took her bag from his hand. He nodded his head and turned to leave.

“Hmmm, Jake.” He heard Aria's mother call him. He stopped and looked at her.

“You can have lunch here.” She suggested with a nervous smile. He hissed out and stomped out of the house.

Just as he was about to go out of the door, he bumped into someone.

“Watch where you are going, you moron.” He sneered at the person before realizing that it was his dad that was standing.

He scoffed and walked towards his car in anger. He slammed the door of his car shut as soon as he entered and zoomed off.

Aria pretended to love him all this while?

Like she did it to see his mother?

And to make jest of her behind him?

He let out a dry, humorless laughter.
