Chapter 90: Chapter 90

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Liliana knocked with a little hesitation. Elsa glared at the door as if the door should be locked forever. She hated the way she was feeling. She was strong. Strong girls don't cry. She should accept them. Her granny…

She broke down into tears. All these years of her life, she lived with fake parents. She cherished them like they were her blood. Why did they have to leave them?

If they were here, they might have refuted their claims and proved that they were their real parents and not these couple standing outside her door.

“Elsa dear.” Liliana called with worry as she dropped another knock on the door.

“Leave me alone, I want to be alone.” Elsa yelled accompanied with a sob. As Liliana was about to talk, Austin held her and shook his head.

“Let her be. It's really hard for them to accept. Let's go meet Ellie.” He forced a slight smile. Liliana looked at the door and reluctantly turned on her heels and walked towards the living room.

Ellie looked up to see her parents coming towards them sadly. She could not blame them. Elsa was being a very hard nut to crack. She hissed in her head and looked back at Mercy that was engaging her in a discussion. She had not spoken to her granny yet. She did not know how to bring up the conversation. She just sent quick glances towards her. She noticed how dejected she looked. She was too old for all of this.

“Dad, mum… what of...” She trailed off as she saw Elsa staggered towards them with her eyes red-rimmed.

Liliana gasped and walked towards her. She held her hands out and her face had a worried look.

“I am fine.” Elsa refused her cuddle and walked towards her granny.

“Granny, just because some people claimed to be our real parents does not mean we will push you away. You are a good woman. You have always been. You are still my grandmother who brought me up and I will never forget it.” Elsa said and pulled her granny into a huge hug. Tears rolled down Racheal's face as she heard these words. Ellie released a quiet snort as she looked away from them. She was not envious. Elsa has always been her ideal daughter while she… she was just a mistake. To her at least.

She glanced her parents and saw how they worried stared at Elsa and her granny.

‘Has she taken them away from her again and soon?’ She thought.

‘No, impossible. I won't lose them.’ She thought again.

“Elsa, whether you want it or not, they are our real parents. Stop being stone headed.” Ellie said to her with a scoff.

“I am just acknowledging someone that always been my backbone when I needed her. She took care of me like I was really her own.” Elsa retorted. Ellie released a humorless laugh before looking at her with a small smirk playing on her lips.

“If her son was not impotent, she would have killed us, right? Granny.” She said, bringing her glance to Racheal who only stared at her in shock.

“How dare you say something like that?” Elsa sneered with nose flared up in anger and defence.

“You don't need to ask like some justice fighter, or like you are the only one that she took care of. She also took care of me, get that!” Ellie shouted at her with her breath ragging, like she was preventing herself from giving an outburst. Elsa scoffed at her.

“Someone who took care for nineteen years is way better than someone who brought me to the world.” Elsa spat out.

“Then, let me tell. Someone I just met yesterday and has proven to be my mother or even if she was not, is better than someone I grew up with for nineteen good years.” Ellie yelled at her in rage and stomped past everyone outside to the car. Rachael gasped in terror as she heard what Ellie said. “Ellie.” Liliana called out.

Ellie got to the car and pulled the door open before slamming it shut.

“Drive.” Ellie ordered while fuming in anger.

“To where?” The driver asked.

“Home, my dad's mansion.” She spat angrily.

She just could not understand her.

“Elsa, you should not speak like that to your parents. They are the one who birthed you. You should accord them the respect they deserve, I won't tolerate such attitude.” Rachael reprimanded Elsa. Elsa released a deep breath. As she was about to talk to Liliana. Liliana held her hands up with tears streaming down her face before walking out in a hurry. She saw that the car was already gone. Austin followed her out too.

Elsa frowned and went to meet them.

“I am sorry.” She said with her face looking straight forward.

“I just… I just don't know how to accept everything. I mean I have always loved this family. It's really hard.” Elsa said as she hung her head. She swallowed lightly. She looked at her mother who was sobbing quietly. She walked over to meet her.

“I am sorry. I should not have said something as hurtful as that. I just said it on the spur of the moment. Ellie provoked me.” She apologized.

Liliana looked up at her and did not move. Elsa breathed out and hugged her.

“I am sorry. I should not have…”

“It’s okay, my baby. All that matters is that you have accepted me and your dad.” She pulling away from the hug and pulling Austin towards her. They all smiled sadly and hugged. Mercy watched how they were doing. She also ran towards them and tapped them. They looked at her and pulled her into an hug as well.

Ellie watched from afar as they all smiled towards one another. Tears glistening her eyes before slowly rolling down her face and she did nothing to wipe them off.

She just gazed at them. She wanted to take her eyes off them. She wanted to return but it was impossible.

“Drive. Home.” She ordered with a broken voice and she forced her gaze away from them.

“You can't. You can't take them away from me. They are mine too.” Ellie sobbed. It was really hurtful.

First parents loved her than they did to her. Now second parents did not even wait to shower the love they have on her alone.

She hated her life.

Fate!

You are unfair.
