Chapter 89: Chapter 89

“I will convince my parents to arrange a marriage contract between our families and the marriage will happen between Jayson and I, what do you think?” She asked with a smile on her lips while she prayed in her head for her to agree.

Jayson's mom thought about for a while, she saw that it was really a sensible suggestion. She looked at Shawna. “I will speak to Jayson's dad about it and will get to you. Thank you so much.” Sue appreciated her which made Shawna even more elated. At last, she would finally get engaged to him.

She did not spend much time as there was no one around to keep her company except for their mother. As soon as she walked into her house, she was happy that her mother was around.

“Mom, where's dad?” She asked as he dropped her Gucci bag on the chair.

“He is not back from work yet, what happened?” Her mother asked with concern.

“Nothing actually. Just that I was able to finalize a marriage contract with Jayson's mom today.” She said with excitement. Her parents knew too well about she being in love with Jayson. She would often tell them how well behaved, humble and handsome he was. She would describe his every ability and movement. They knew that their daughter was in love with him.

When her dad came back, they had the discussion and her dad accepted it. He also said that he will love to meet his parents.

“So granny, what were you saying?” Ellie asked as they came back. When they asked get the questions earlier on, she had them shove into their room and gave some excuse that they should have their baths. Her heart would not stop beating at a fast rate. She was practically hyperventilating. She thought hard about how they found out about it but could not figure it out. The secret she has kept for too long.

She released a deep breath. She knew how inquisitive and curious the twins were, especially when it comes to something concerning their lives.

As she was about to talk, a knock on the door interrupted her. They all darted their gaze to the door. Ellie stood up and walked to the door. She twisted the door knob and pushed the door towards her. The sight she took in made her eyes go wide in surprise.

Liliana, Austin and Mercy stood at the door, with smiles gracing their faces. “Can we come in?” Mercy asked when she saw that Ellie was not moving. Elsa walked towards them and pushed Ellie slightly, letting them come in. She swallowed as she watched them walk in. They walked into the relatively small bungalow and Liliana gasped in shock as she saw the lady that was seated on the chair. “Racheal?!” she shrieked out. Rachael looked up immediately as she heard the voice. She gulped down in shock as she saw her.

“L-Liliana, you…” She trailed off in shock.

“What are you doing here?” She asked. Liliana's lips twitched up into a scowl and with rage oozing out. Austin walked towards her and placed his hand on her shoulders, soothing her. Liliana looked at him with her nose flared up in anger.

“Calm down, you have to calm down.” He urged her. She let out a deep breath of relief.

“Granny, what is happening here?” Elsa spoke up with a confused look. Rachael turned to look at her with a grim smile. “I will explain.” She said and turned to look at Austin and his wife.

“It is true, the couples here are your real parents.” She started out and earned a gasp from the twins.

“I used to work as a maid in their house but when Liliana here–“ she pointed towards her. “–gave birth, Natasha, the lady who had introduced me to Austin, forced me to work for her. She told me that I should throw the kids into the river or even have them killed but then, my son, Eric, was sort of impotent so I gave you to him to take care of.” She stated.

“Why? Why did you do it?” Liliana shouted at her.

“You took away my first kids. You made be in pain for two good years. Ha! Rachael, you are heartless. So heartless.” Liliana cried out in pain. Austin held her close to him as she sobbed on his shoulders. Mercy just stood at a corner and watched it all.

They all stared at her as she narrated it out. Ellie and Elsa did not know how to comprehend the entire situation. “So you are not our real granny?” Elsa asked with tears forming in her eyes and walked towards them with her arms folded beneath her breast. Rachael nodded her head positively. She really felt bad about what she did. She regretted every action she took that day.

“So you took us away from our parents and they are also our parents?” Ellie asked all over again, gulping down her blocked throat.

“Yes.” They replied to her as they looked at the both of them.

“Wow, perfect. Just perfect.” Elsa clapped her hands. She sniffed and stomped towards her room in anger.

“El…” Liliana trailed off as she watched her go. She slammed the door of her room shut and started crying. Ellie sat down on the chair and sighed. She was trying to blink back the tears that was beginning to form in her eyes.

No wonder. No wonder all these while, she did not feel the affection of a parent. All this while, she did not feel connected to her former parents. No wonder they were partial in their treatment towards them. Liliana walked towards her with a sad face and took a seat beside her. “Erm…” She did not know what to say to her.

“I searched for you, I really did. I just could not find you anywhere. I am sorry, I have been a bad mother.” She cried. Ellie placed a finger and suddenly pulled into a hug then she burst out crying. Liliana closed her eyes as she hugged her back and sniffed in her hair shampoo. It smelled like Vanilla.

“Mom…” Ellie called out as she broke into more tears.

Austin walked towards them and patted their shoulders each.

“I missed you.” She sobbed out as she held Liliana closed to her tightly as if she was going to disappear any minute. Rachael watched them. The tears increased and started rolling down her face.

She has always been a bad granny. Always. She cried out and faceplamed. She felt ashamed of her actions. She felt ashamed of womanhood. She felt ashamed of motherhood.

Mercy walked towards to her and offered her an handkerchief. She looked up at the girl who had a bleak smile on her lips.

“People makes mistake too. Don’t cry. You are not the first to do something like this.” She comforted her.

Rachael forced a smile and pulled her into a hug.
