Chapter 88: Chapter 88

They all stood in the large living room. Austin had gone to meet the MC to dismiss the guests that had come. He had sincerely apologized and also told them that something bad had come up so in order not to put their lives at risk, it was better if they just leave.

So everyone seemed to be in their thoughts as they sat down. Elsa stood up behind the chair with her arms akimbo, in deep thoughts.

Ellie was thinking about how the situations turned out to be like this. Elsa was thinking about how of a truth it was.

“I don’t understand what is going on here.” Everyone turned towards Elsa. She walked to the center. “I mean, you believe what that lady said, can't you see that she was out of her mind?” She asked with confusion written on her face and gesticulated with her hands.

“See, let me tell you. I grew up with my parents and I also have a granny so being your child is…” She released a deep breath.

“Ellie, you know what? Let's leave.” She urged Ellie who did not stand up from the chair she was sitting on.

“Erm… hey. Don’t go yet. It's dark already. Maybe you can stay for the night and tomorrow, you will leave.” Liliana suggested. She just could not bear to let them leave. Not when she had just found them.

Elsa turned towards her. “we can find our way back home, thanks.” She said emotionlessly like she could not breath in the air that was there for a second more, she was about to leave when Liliana implored Austin with her eyes to stop them.

“I will love to meet this granny of yours.” Austin spoke up. Elsa turned towards him again and shook her head disdainfully. She heaved a sigh of defeat and slumped on the chair.

“Anna.” Liliana called out. The maid that had gone to serve Mercy juice earlier on rushed forward. “Prepare something to eat for them and also inform Cassie to prepare two rooms for them.” She ordered. Anna nodded and walked off. Ellie on her own did not know how to feel, she just stared at everything that was happening.

She had seen a portrait of an older woman when they were coming back from the place they had met Natasha. She had this kind of resemblance with them which had her confused.

Where they really her parents?”

**Next Morning**

~7:00AM~

“So even after the stress we went through to get the job, we still did not get any pay.” Ellie lamented with a pouty look as they walked up the streets to their house. It was the earliest time of morning and they had requested *their* parents to let them go home.

After they had their dinner which they ate with reluctance, they went to sleep in the rooms that had been prepared for them.

While each of them was there, they were both filled with their thoughts. They were overwhelmed, shocked and did not want to believe it was true even though Ellie almost gave in to the thought.

They stood in front of their door and Ellie took the intuition to knock. It was quite early so they did not expect Racheal to answer so quick. But surprisingly, they heard her voice say. “Who is there?”

“The twins.” Elsa answered and she walked towards the door. She twisted the door knob and pushed it open for them to enter which they did.

“Grandma.” Elsa called out. Rachael stopped and looked at them, she noticed the tone Elsa used to call her. She furrowed her eyebrows.

“Is it true?” She asked. She darted her gaze to Ellie who just sat down on the chair, staring at her, waiting for her to answer.

“What is true?” she questioned.

“Is it true that you are not our biological grandmother?” Ellie dropped the question at once, making Racheal’s eyes go dim in surprise and shock.

How the hell did they find out?

~~9:30 AM~~

Shawna's car drove straight into the Smith's family mansion. She has been thinking of how to talk to Jayson. She tried giving him a call but he just simply ignores it and sometimes disconnect it himself.

“We are here.” The driver announced. Shawna got down from the car and marched straight into the mansion with her heels clicking the floor at every step she took. She pushed the large door open and walked in. The house does not have maids so there was literally no life in the house. She looked around and saw Jayson's mom sitting, she seemed to be deep in her thoughts as she did not notice her (Shawna). She walked with caution towards her, still looking around. She patted her on her shoulders. Jayson's mom jerked a little bit and looked up to see the one that had interrupted her thoughts. She heaved a sigh when she saw who it was. “Shawna, it's you.” She mused.

Shawna beamed a little smile and took a seat beside her. “Ma'am, why do you look like this and moreover, what are you thinking about that has you so cold and stiff?” She asked as she looked at her features. Jayson's mom released a deep breath before taking Shawna's hands into hers.

“I know I just arrived but when I came in, you did not feel it nor even know. I can see you were in deep thoughts, tell what's wrong? You know there is a saying; a problem shared is a problem solved; So tell me, what it is about?” Shawna implored further. Jayson's mother fiddled with her hands before attempting to speak but the words were not forming. Shawna urged with her eyes to say it.

Was she really eager to know it?

Maybe she just wanted to act like she felt pained by it.

“You see for the past weeks now, we incurred a huge and sudden bankruptcy. I just don’t know how it happened. My husband is doing all he can to pay it up and also find the person that is if there is.” She explained.

It dawned on Shawna immediately. The Smiths' family had gotten into huge debts and now they were finding it hard to pay. Shawna nodded her head as she reasoned the situation.

“You know, whenever he comes back home, he is always aggressive and angry with everything. I seriously don't know what to do.” She lamented to Shawna who did not know how to react to the whole situation but then, her subconscious mind decided to take full advantage of the situation.

The idea made Shawna smirk and a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes.

“Mom, I think I might be able to help you.” Shawna said all of a sudden, making Jayson's mother look up at her on expectancy.
