Chapter 86: Chapter 86
Music roamed everywhere, pink and white colored balloons, banners of the celebrant were put up everywhere; obviously the code of dress was pink and white. The bulbs shone lightly, beautifying the place even more and making it glow showing that it was quite dark in the night. Wealthy and influential people dressed in flashy and elegant attire with expensive jewelries and their gifts for the celebrant were standing all around smiling in greeting to one other. Some other people were just arriving the venue in their luxurious cars. The place seems so lively and enjoyable. Ellie made sure to peep at some of the clothes, keeping them in her brain that when she is buoyant enough, she will get something like it. But she knew deep down that it was almost impossible. She wished she was just in anyway related to those that had come to attend the party.
The waiters were already doing their jobs. Welcoming the people and also coordinating them. Some stood far away from the venue, close to the place they will refilling the wines. They had used compound of the mansion as their venue, killing the stress of hiring an event planner and also some event hall. The MC welcomed the guests with funny gestures and did his thing the way he knew how.
“Time to start serving the wine.” The Head waiter alerted them. Ellie and Elsa put wine glasses into their respective trays and filled them with wine. “Be careful.” Elsa whispered to Ellie. Ellie nodded her head and walked another way. “You know the rules, right?” The head waiter shouted in a low tone but can be heard by those closer to him. “Be polite and be patient.” He reminded them. They all nodded and marched out.
The party went on and on. “When are we seeing the celebrant?” someone asked the MC. The MC smirked and said. “she is preparing herself for her appearance.”
“Ma, can you please get your daughter, the guests are getting quite inquisitive than we planned. They can’t wait to see such beautiful rose you have as a daughter.” The MC asked Lilliana, the mother of the celebrant. The guests laughed at his silly joke.
“Sure, why not? Just please give her some time.” Lilliana said with a smile and walked over to meet her husband. The guests used the opportunity to drop the gifts they brought for the fifteen-years-old celebrant. Ellie saw that she had already shared her wine glasses finish. All that remains was just empty glasses, she let out a deep breath. It is not as easy as she watches it on television where the waiter will carry the tray on your one hand. She had to be careful this time and in this place. The people here were not of her class at all. She walked over to the place she will refill the glasses. As she was taking another set of wine cups, she suddenly saw shadows of people. She furrowed her eyebrows and looked up. She saw two people walking suspiciously towards the mansion, she tilted her head to see where they were going exactly but they were not passing the main entrance but the back exit. They had hoods over their heads so she could not see their faces clearly. She did not know when her legs move on her own and started trailing them. Then one of them stopped to usher the other in. she also stopped. She looked around and saw just how quite the back was. “What are they doing here?” she thought as she followed.
They walked in through the back entrance and she went in also. The light was quite dim so she could not see clearly. “Thought you said you knew the way so well.” She heard a masculine voice scoff in annoyance. She stopped on her trails and strained her ears attentively to what they were saying. “I lived in this house for two years, did not know it has changed so much. Auston really made a lots of changes just… for me.” she heard another feminine voice answer and muttered the last part that it was almost hard for Ellie to hear it. “And who is Auston? Must the owner of the house.” She answered herself.
“Let’s go before you start reminiscing about that awful past of yours.” The male voice groaned and they moved around, trying to find the door to the main house. They finally found it as Ellie was about to come out of her hiding place, her leg hit the board close to her. the people stopped abruptly. “Someone is here.” The male whispered and the female released a gasp. Ellie winced quietly and muttered a curse under her breath. “Let’s go quickly.” The male urged the lady. They both hurried out and slam the door shut.
“Oh my goodness, I lost them.” She hit her forehead as she writhed out in pain loudly. “I am very sure they are here to do something bad. Let me inform Elsa first.” She said and hurried out immediately. She looked around and searching for Elsa as she got to the field. She finally saw her, serving some lady the last of the wine cups. “Hey, Elsa.” She called out with agitation.
“What? Hope you have not gone to make trouble?” Elsa asked and Ellie almost rolled her eyes at her conclusion. “Come here.” She dragged her out and waddled their way out of the crowd.
“Speak up.” Elsa requested. “If you don’t want us to fvck up on our first job and go home with nothing.” She added.
“I saw some people, wearing some black hoods over their heads. Their movements was quite suspicious so I followed them. They passed through the back door and I feel they are going to do something bad but the sad thing is that I lost them.” Ellie explained without delay.
“And where did you see them?” She asked with one of her eyebrows raised.
“I saw them over there.” Ellie pointed towards the place and Elsa walked towards the place, surprising Ellie. “You believe me?” She asked out of disbelief and shock as they walked over to the place.
“Yes, I do. I also saw them but thought they were bodyguards. Guess they are gonna do something bad. Let us check it out before alarming the owner of the house.” Elsa said and walked into the house through the back door. She had wanted to go refill the wine cups when she saw someone standing close to the place the wines were placed and suddenly scurried away quickly. She ignored it and still carried on with refilling the wine cups.
