Chapter 61: Chapter 61

**Next Morning**

“Jayson.” Shawna called after him. Jayson stopped with the rest of the J- stars and turned towards her.

“You said we will be studying together.” She reminded him nervously. She woke up really early just because she could meet him at the café.

“Ohh… about that… Yeah, sure. You can come and meet me at the library in thirty minutes.” He said, glancing at his wristwatch. “I need to get a few things also.” He added and turned to leave.

“So you are now talking to her after the horrible things she did.” Jeremy asked in disbelief. Jace scoffed.

“Just studying together.” Jayson shrugged.

Shawna walked into the library with a joyful posture. At least, she could use this opportunity to apologize to him. She looked around and saw Jayson's signature, White. He still have not dyed it yet. She smiled and took slow strides towards him.

“Jay…” She trailed off when she saw the person that was sitting in front with Jayson with a smirk on her face.

It was her. Her only enemy. Elsa.

Elsa looked at her and faked a smile.

“Oh, hi. Shawna. We were just waiting for you.” Jayson said as he urged her to sit.

“Kindly close your mouth. Flies are looking for an abode to live in.” Elsa said to Shawna and she clamped her mouth shut. Jayson chuckled silently.

‘How is it possible?’ Shawna thought as she stared at the way they were talking to each other.

‘To the extent that they now study together.’

It never crossed her mind. Never.

She faked a smile and cut into their conversation, “I thought it was only the both of us that was studying together. Did not know that there is a third party.” She said as she glared daggers at Elsa.

Elsa uttered a snort and said, “The one who is a third party is you.”

“You…” Shawna scoffed.

“Hey, are we doing this or you will continue to bicker?” He asked, directed the question to Shawna. Shawna breathed out and swallowed lightly.

“Sorry.” She mumbled and Elsa opened her book with a smile on her face.

“Open to page 235.” Jayson said and Shawna did the same.

**

All the time Jayson was explaining and throwing questions at them, Shawna could not take her gaze off him. Several thoughts kept roaming in her head making it difficult for her to focus.

Elsa looked at Jayson and slowly glanced at Shawna only to see her smiling at him and staring at his face. She chuckled silently.

“Shawna.” Elsa called out.

“Shawna.” She called out again sharply this time. Shawna flinched and looked at her.

“What?” She spat. She had just ruined her blissful moment for her.

“I know that Jayson here is too handsome to avoid. But at least have some patience and shame.” Elsa said.

Shawna glared at her and then turn to look at Jayson.

“Huh?” She asked.

“I was asking you a question.” Jayson said.

“Erm… I… Hmm… Ohh. I did not hear. Really sorry about that.” She stuttered and yawned.

“You seem tired. It has not been up to four hours yet and you are sleepy. If I remember clearly, this subject will be the first subject we will be doing tomorrow morning.” He said.

“No… hmmm.. We can continue.” She said and took her pen. She was starting to feel bad like she just disappointed him.

Jayson who was not even a bit disappointed said, “No, go and take a rest. It is very essential for you. If at this rate you continue, you might break down or would not even remember anything.” He has been obviously looking for ways to get rid of her and the opportunity presented itself, he definitely won't let it go in vain. Everything she did to him, it was hard to forget them.

Shawna was tongue tied like she did not have anymore excuse to stay. She looked from Jayson to Elsa and then back on the books. She had just blown up the chance she's got. She pushed her chair back, the chair made some squeaky sound and she stood up. She packed her books and smiled sadly.

“Thank you anyways. Meet you in the exam hall tomorrow.” She said and walked away.

“Tell me why you hate her guts?” Jayson asked Elsa whose eyes was still focused on the Shawna's retreating figure. He clicked his pen open.

“I don’t hate her neither do I like her. But one thing is for sure she thinks highly of herself.” Elsa said and Jayson nodded his head.

“Jake.” Ellie shook him as she called his name.

“What?” He answered.

“We are starting examination tomorrow and here you are playing games on your phone.” She complained.

Jake sighed and looked at her, “Ellie, it’s nothing. You are just nervous and anxious. And besides there is nothing to worry about. We already covered up the whole syllabus during the revision, right? Or have you forgotten?” He asked and she shook her head negatively.

“Examination fever. Just calm down and inhale. Then exhale. You can do it!” He encouraged her. She forced a smile.

“Thanks.” She said.

“It’s nothing. Let's go for a stroll and wait for the big day.” He said and before she could talk, he already dragged her away.

**Evening**

Knock! Knock! Knock!

“Come in.” A feminine voice said in a commanding tone.

Shawna pushed the door opened and walked in a smile on her face. Fake.

“Good day, ma'am.” She greeted.

“Oh, Shawna. It’s you.” The English teacher, Mrs. Ann, said warmly as she lifted up her spectacles.

“Hope you are preparing for my paper tomorrow.” She asked again and Shawna nodded her head in assurance.

“Sure, ma'am. I was thinking if you need some assistance.” She said with a polite smile.

“No. Not actually. Just that…erm…” Mrs. Ann drew a drawer, “You can pack the papers together for me.” She said and passed a pile of papers towards Shawna. She collected it and smiled.

Then the telephone on the table rang. Mrs. Ann picked it.

“Alright, I will be on my way now.” She said and stood up quickly. She adjusted her spectacle.

“Erm… Shawna.” She called.

“Yes, ma'am.” Shawna answered.

“When you are done, you can bring the papers to me tomorrow.” She said and Shawna nodded her head.

“I will be right back.” She announced and exited the office. Shawna smirked as she looked around the office.

“I came at the right time.”
