“Jayson.” Shawna called out as she ran towards him. She has been calling him since they left the café after waiting breakfast.

He stopped on his tracks and sighed.

“Jayson.” She said and stood beside him.

“What do you want?” He asked immediately.

“I… hmm.. We are starting examination in a two days' time.” She announced like he did not know it before.

“Yeah, I think the principal already made that clear to us earlier on?” He asked and raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah, sure. He did.” Shawna said and faked a smile.

“Was thinking if we could study together?” She asked nervously. He narrowed his eyes ad her with craned his neck a bit.

“I mean like a study group.” She said immediately.

“Sure. For as long as it is only for reading.” He said and before getting a response from her, he walked away.

“But you have not told me when you will be less busy.” She said jogging after him.

“Come tomorrow's evening.” He said and walked ahead of her. She stopped on her tracks with a triumphant smile.

“And why are you smiling?” Crystal asked as she came out of a class that was close to Shawna.

“Jayson just agreed to read with me.” She said out of excitement.

“Oh, really? So what is exciting about it?” Crystal asked as they walked out of the hall. Shawna stopped and turned to look at her.

“If you are not going to celebrate with me. Don’t try to make me sad, okay?” She spat and walked out leaving Crystal to watch her back. Crystal uttered a snort and walked in another route. She's got a new friend who is not as obsessive as the one. She smiled.

“Hey, babe. What's popping?” Crystal asked as she took a seat beside Ellie who has been waiting for her.

“How are you doing?” Ellie asked looking around in search for someone.

“Are you waiting for someone?” Crystal asked and Ellie nodded her head positively.

“And who is that?” Crystal asked as she opened her textbook.

“And here he is.” Ellie announced with a smile as Jake walked towards them with some books his hands. He smiled and sat down as he got to them.

He cleared his throat and said, “So what subject are we dealing with today?” He placed his books down.

“No greetings?” Ellie asked as she raised her eyebrow. He looked at her and smiled.

“Good afternoon.” He greeted as he shook his head at her behavior.

“Good afternoon.” Crystal replied while Jake and Ellie were still in a eye contact competition.

“Hey, guys.” Crystal waved her hands at their faces and they both looked away.

“Like I said earlier, what subject are we going to study?” He asked them. Especially Ellie.

“Physiscs.” Ellie said.

“Maths.” Crystal said.

They looked at each other and laughed. Jake looked at them to choose the one they will be dealing with.

“Mathematics.” Ellie agreed.

“Okay, then. Mathematics it is then.” He shrugged.

And they all dug into their books.

**Some Hours Later**

Ellie kept yawning and dozing off as Jake kept explaining the topics to them.

“Ellie.” Jake called her for the umpteenth time. She has been dozing off for a while now.

“What?” She asked as she opened her eyes.

“You are sleeping.” He said – more like asking her.

“I am quite tired. I really need to sleep. The cool breeze here is making me feel sleepy. You know what? You guys should continue. Not like I am facing any difficulty in Mathematics anyway.” She said and packed her books.

“But this…” Jake trailed off as he watched her walked away tiredly.

“Guess we will have to continue studying.” Jake shrugged as he checked his wristwatch.

“Oops. It is 16:35 PM already?” He asked.

“Let’s hurry with this and we will round it up.” He said and forced a smile.

He skimmed some pages and started explaining some equations to Crystal who was concentrating more on his features than what he was saying.

“How was it so possible to have let go of you?” She thought and sighed.

“Hey.” He waved his hands at her face when he saw that she was not answering. She blinked her eyes and looked at him.

“Hmm…”

“I guess you are exhausted also. Go have some rest.” He suggested.

“No, I am not.” She protested.

“Give yourself some break and besides we are not having Mathematics as our first subject for the examination. We will study together some other time.” He said and carried his books. She watched as he walked away.

“We will be starting examinations in just two days. Then I will be finally free from reading and waking up this early.” Ellie said, stretching out. Elsa shook her head at her sister's behavior.

“So where were you?” Ellie asked. “Because I was expecting you to come meet me where Jake and I were reading.” She said.

“I was revising with Jayson.” Elsa said softly.

“That guy is really intelligent.” She said as though it was something surprising. Ellie rolled her eyes.

“So you are friends now to reading partners?” Ellie asked with an undertone of sadness.

“Yeah. But I am not still into this friendship that much.” Elsa said and placed the book in her hands on the bedside table.

“Ohh…It’s still doesn’t change anything.” Ellie shrugged.

“I learnt that he has a younger sister.” Elsa continued.

“Really?, She must be really lucky to have him.” Ellie said like she was interested. But that interest already died down.

“He even said that she is too troublesome and that he is happy that he came to Shining Stars High.” Elsa laughed.

“So what are you going to do about Christian?” Ellie asked, knowing fully well how that can dampen her already happy spirit.

“Ellie. I have made it clear to him that there is nothing going on between us.” Elsa warned, pointing finger at Ellie.

“Hey, don’t get annoyed. I mean he won't stop telling me to apologize to you on his behalf.” Ellie said as she dropped the bottle of lotion and walked back to the bed.

“Next time. Just ignore him.” Elsa scoffed.

Ellie chuckled and looked out of the window.

“Good night.” Elsa mumbled and turned around to the other side of the bed.
