Chapter 56: Chapter 56

“Run.” A voice shouted.

“You can do this.” Another voice urged.

“Run, faster.”

Several voices chanted as they urged their representatives to run.

The sun has risen and they already woke up. They had eaten breakfast and gotten into the fun that was prepared for them.

So right now, they were in a casual race. Part of the fun they had gone for. Elsa and Jayson both sat, still eating their breakfast, hesitantly. Not like any of them was interested in the game they were playing. Other students who had come too, were busy cheering those that were in the race.

Christian looked around, searching for a face that had a pair of grey eyes and a heart shaped lips with a little non hairy eyebrows, that is always not smiling neither was it always frowning. He was searching for her face. He looked around but could not find her.

“Where is she?” He thought as he narrowed his eyes around the people that were there. Then suddenly, his eyes caught two heads that were sitting in front of the fire that had already been put out in the early morning.

His eyes held rage and anger and also another emotion, jealousy. He waddled his way out of the crowd and started marching his way towards them but then he stopped, he thought about it for a while. He swallowed the anger that had began to build in him and sighed heavily. He put his hands in his pockets and walked gracefully, even though he was blowing hot in jealousy, towards them.

“Hey, hi, Elsa.” he greeted with a fake grin as he uninvitedly took a seat beside her. This made Jayson look up to them and utter a quiet scoff.

Elsa looked up and saw him. She moved a little bit away since they were too close. He noticed this but cleared his throat.

“Why aren’t you in the game?” He asked her, taking sneaky glances at Jayson who was only staring at the hamburger that was in his hands. He pretended not to be listening to whatever they were saying.

“Don’t feel like.” Elsa shrugged and dumped the rest of her potato chips in the trashcan next to her, Christian had just ruined her appetite with his presence. Jayson stood up and left them to whatever they were saying as he had no interest in it.

Well, he must be very unfortunate as Shawna had taken that time to walk out of the crowd. She smiled as soon as she saw him.

“Jayson.” She called immediately as she jogged towards him. He stopped walking and waited for her catch up with him.

He turned towards her and said, “What do you want?”

Her face formed a frown and her once cheerful eyes fell in sorrow.

“I said there is nothing going on between us anymore, get that.” They both heard someone yell on top of their voices. They both turned and saw Elsa standing with fingers curled into a ball trying to prevent herself from slapping Christian on his face.

They both walked towards them but Elsa walked out hitting Jayson on his arm. He jerked back but Elsa did not wait to apologize. He looked at Christian’s somewhat pleading face and shook his head then he walked away.

Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

Christian heard a voice behind. He craned his neck and saw Shawna standing there with arms akimbo.

Shawna shook head and walked towards him.

“She does not love you anymore. Why are you still after her?” She asked as she watched both Jayson and Elsa walked in different directions.

“I guess that is none of your business.” Christian spat and sat down angrily.

“You must have noticed that Jayson and Elsa seemed to be close.” She said carefully, trying to hit the right spot.

“You want Elsa and I want Jayson. Don’t you think we should sail together?” She asked.

“You want Jayson but from what I have seen this few days, though I don’t see you with him. I have seen the hatred he has for you. His eyes holds that for you. You must have done some thing quite annoying and also unforgivable. I will advise you to give up.” He said and patted her shoulders. He stood up and was about to go when Shawna voice came up again.

“Like you did not do something to her that made her break up with you.” She uttered a scoff and walked right in ffrom of him. She looked at him in the eye.

“Tell me, you did something to her, right?” She asked.

“Don’t you see that on-going chemistry between them. Even if they don’t notice or see it. Can't you see it?” She asked desperately.

“From the very first day, she came to Shining Stars High, she caught his attention and do you know that Jayson was on her tail so that she will become his friend. When I came to the school, it took so much hard work to be noticed by him.” She rambled breathing heavily. She curled her fingers in anger.

“But you know, I got into trouble because of her several times and guess what, it always happened to have something to do with Jayson. Now that is what I am trying to atone for.” She explained.

“So in other words, you want Jayson and you also want to use me to get him?” He asked and chuckled.

“You met the wrong person and wait, let me get something straight to you, if you hurt a strand of her hair. You will face the consequences.” He threatened her and scoffed. She watched how he walked off.

“Stupid.” She snorted.

“Thank you so much, today was fun.” Ellie beamed at Jake as they walked towards her dorm.

“You’re welcome.” He said with a bright smile.

“See you tomorrow.” She said and walked in.

“Ellie.” He called out with nervousness showing in his features. He exhaled deeply and gripped his hair in frustration. She turned towards him with expecting expression to say whatever he wanted to say.

“I.. Erm… I… You look pretty.” He finally dropped it. He has been looking for ways to tell her since he saw her in the morning but anxiety as you how she will react always kick in.

She grinned and her cheeks almost burnt from blushing.

“Thanks.” She replied softly.

“Good night, Sweet dreams.” He said and hesitantly walked away.

She touched her cheeks as she walked along the dorm into her room.
