Chapter 19: Chapter 19
The last day went quickly. The weirdest thing I have heard is the Academy starts at night and ends in the morning. It will be the perfect time for vampires but not for everyone. But it’s new and I will get practised. At midnight, we need to reach the Sapphire Academy. I tried not to sleep, but anyway, I can’t control it. I fixed my alarm to wake up on time. Iam waiting for it to ring. I won’t move until it makes a noise.
I can feel someone standing next to my bed. I can’t able to open my eyes. Iam feeling so tired.
“Sydney,”
“Baby,” I heard two voices, and Iam not sure to whom the voices belong too. I slowly opened my eyes and adjusted to the dark. But there’s not only Jacen and Noah standing beside me. I can see candles on a cake in front of me.
“Sorry, I slept. But why are you holding a cake? How did you get here?” I asked once I got from my bed. It’s time to get ready for the Academy, but what are they doing instead of getting ready. Also, they sneaked to my room again through the window. They kept on doing this in their own house. I rubbed my eyes and waited for their reply.
“IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY.” both of them shouted and astonished me. How can I forget my own birthday? I forgot about it in all this happiness. I still can’t believe it. I never forgot my birthday in these fifteen years. Now I turned sixteen.
“How did you guys know that? I totally forgot about it.” I spoke in shock.
“Your Aunt is probably busy, but she told us to tell wishes. If it’s not for her, we may never have guessed. Thanks to Lydia. Now blow the candle.” Jacen said, holding the whole cake in front of me. Iam too shocked to do anything. I have tears in my eyes. I got nobody to celebrate my birthday. Now, all of a sudden, everything changed.
“Thank you so much for your wishes, guys,” I said, controlling my tears. I was about to blow the candle and I needed to wish for something. I already got what I wanted in all my life, now all I need is...
To know why my aunt always protected me by keeping me locked in a house. I want to know the reason. I know there’s something behind it. I want to find it.
I blew the candles and looked at both of them. They really care about me. I hugged both of them and ate the cake together.
“Happy birthday, Sydney.” Nina opened the door to my room. I thanked her, and she firmly looked at her sons.
“You two didn’t even pack your bags. I did that for you. Now get ready. The car will be here in ten minutes.” She informed and left. I got ready and wore my uniform. It suits me perfectly, but it’s not in blue. That’s a disappointment.
“So, you are Sydney? I can’t able to introduce myself. I am Mr Smith.” finally Jacen and Noah’s father showed up. Iam feeling like I already belong to this family. Nina is treating me like her own daughter. It’s time to say goodbye. Everything happened so fast, we reached the Academy after our travel by car. It’s almost 2 o’clock.
The Academy looked like a Castle. I can’t even see where it starts and where it ends. That much large. ‘No car is allowed inside’ board was at the entrance. Everything looked like cultural and historical times. Many students are wandering outside. Now it’s easy to identify their species through the dress code. We three made our way inside the Academy with our luggage.
“No phones allowed. We will give it back after a year.” A lady firmly said.
“But...” I stammered. I have never been away from my phone.
“No, Give it.” She yelled in frustration.
“Fine” Jacen took his phone and gave it to her. They are infinite phones and tabs inside a box.
“Bye, Slatecity.com, “I whispered when giving it to her. We showed our acceptance letter from Sapphire Academy to her.
“199 and 203. Your room numbers,” she said and gave a key without even looking at us again. Jacen and Noah got into the same room. I don’t know who will be my roommate. The lady told us the last tower in the castle is where the dorm rooms are located. Reaching the dorm room is like walking for the whole eternity. There’s an assembly for first-year students after finding our room. Iam eager to meet new friends and Victoria Hale. She’s the witch Queen. She looks so kind in the photos, I want to know her in real.
I opened my door to my dorm room ‘203’. Suddenly, someone fell down on the floor when I entered.
“Whoa,” a girl fell down hard on the floor, hitting her chin.
“Don’t you dare come to my room? If this is your dorm room, change it. I don’t want to be your roommate.” She snapped at me the moment she got up from the floor. She behaved harshly when she didn’t even see my face. She touched her chin in pain.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just opened the door.” I spoke softly, but I can’t change my room. She looked at me once she heard my voice. She has brown hair and looks beautiful without any make-up.
“You are not Cassie. I thought you were Cassie. Iam sorry for scolding you. Someone told me, Cassie is my roommate. I can rather die than be her roommate.” She spoke quickly and regret showed in her eyes. She got to be talking about the witch princess.
“So, you don’t want me to change my dorm room, right?” I doubtfully asked.
“Of course not. I told you the reason. Iam happy to be your roommate, witch.” She broadly smiled. For a second, she was harsh and now she is kind. What Iam seeing is got to be her true self. Because whenever someone talks about Cassie, they get irritated.
“You are a wolf...” I trailed off, seeing her blue dress.
“Correction. A werewolf. Iam Amelia.” I nodded my head and kept my luggage down.
“Iam Sydney.” I held my hands to shake, but she hugged me instantly like seeing an old friend after a long time. Finally, Iam seeing the room after knocking out a she-wolf without knowing. There is only one room and two beds. It has all the necessary things and everything looked classy.
“So, it’s time for assembly. Can we go, witch mate?” she asked like Iam already her friend.
“Witch mate?”
“Yes, roommate is old, witch mate is perfect. Let’s go” she patted my shoulder and opened the door wide open.
“Okay, wolf-mate,”
