Chapter 17: Chapter 17

“So, this is where we are going to buy uniforms. It’s not bad.” Jacen muttered. Everything looks expensive here. I should pay back the amount for Nina in the future.

“Yes. You got no choice but I am sure you will like uniforms.” Alice said and lead us inside the shop. There are not only uniforms but also gowns and party dresses.

“Wait here.” A man said, the owner, I guess. He went inside a room full of uniforms. We waited at the counter and admired all the beautiful gowns. My eyes wandered over all blue gowns. There’s also a blue gown, just like Cassie’s gown, which I saw today. If I bought what Cassie’s wearing, it will be costly.

“Introduce yourself, beauty.” A young boy in his twenties asked me at the counter. The man who had gone still didn’t return. I remember how Jacen and Noah laughed when I said my name instead of telling ‘witch’.

“I am a witch,” I answered him, but he didn’t ask about Jacen or Noah.

“No. I want to know your name, Beauty.” he insisted.

“I am here for the uniform. My name is none of your business.” I snapped immediately without realizing it. He’s just asking my name.

“You heard her?” Jacen laughed at him, and the man returned at the right time.

“So, like you said, a witch and two vampires.” He asked, looking at Alice, who nodded.

“First, you must know the uniform code. This orange emerald green is for you.” he gave me a shirt with green borders and a green skirt which comes above my knees. He gave a shirt with red borders and fitting pants for both of the brothers.

“Green for witches, red for Vamp, blue for a werewolf, black for every other species, cause the queen prefers this type of code. There will be many parties in the Academy, so you can choose some gowns, other dresses, and finally a photo for your ID.” We all explored the entire shop to select whatever dress I like. I bought some blue gowns which I admired before. There’s only one floor but a variety of dresses. There’s not even one repetitive designed dress. Everything is unique. At last, we three went inside each dressing room. Alice told us to come outside wearing the uniform for a photo. Then the last work is to purchase books. Academy books always comes at the end.

“Oh no,” I muttered, searching for my uniform. I already took off my current dress to change it. I am only standing with my inner-wear. How can I forget to take my uniform with me? I concentrated more on the gown and totally forgot about uniforms. I waited for minutes, thinking, and leaned on the door to call Alice.

“Alice. Are you there? Alice?”

“She’s not here. What happened, Sydney?” I heard Jacen’s voice on the other side. I think he already got ready. I think I should ask for his help. No, I don’t. Yes, I do. Here goes nothing.

“Jacen, I forgot my uniform. Can you get it for me?” I unlocked my door and asked him, only popping my head out.

“Um... yeah sure.” he hesitated and said with difficulty. I leaned on the door and waited for him.

“I’m back,” he said, cracking the door to give it without warning, which caused me to fall on the floor as I was leaning on the door. I felt two hands on my wrist before I hit the floor.

“Hey, get out,” I screamed, seeing Jacen. I didn’t expect him to catch me. Rather, I would have fallen on the floor.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to come inside, baby. You would have fallen if I am not here.” he said, closing the door instead of going out. He’s the reason I slipped and fell. He’s calling me Baby at this time.

“Hey. You aren’t supposed to see me like this.” I yelled at him; my face turned red again. I am in my bra and panties, but no one saw me like this. He blankly looked at me and decided whether to go out or not.

“OUT. OUT” I pushed him, but suddenly pulled me towards him and kissed me. His one hand is on my wrist. His touch on my bare skin gives me shiver but not even for a moment I want to stop this. I kissed him back like how I did the first time I saw him. He’s looking like he’s been waiting for this moment to get a chance to be alone together. I didn’t think it would be in a store. When our kiss deepened, there’s a knock on the next door.

“Jacen. Why are you taking so much time?” I heard Noah’s voice on the other side. He’s knocking on the next door, thinking Jacen is still there. We both parted apart and Jacen went outside instantly and I locked the door.

“What the hell are you doing in Sydney’s room?” I heard Noah shouting at Jacen and their shouting at each other continued till they left the dressing room. I didn’t think we kiss again. It all happened on the first day we met and nothing more happened till now. I got ready as soon as I can and the young boy I saw before is taking the photo.

Noah’s smile showed his dimples just like his brother and when it comes to Jacen, I am afraid to see his face after a kiss.

“It’s time for purchasing books. Where you will choose the subjects to study for the whole year.” Alice announced when we were out of the store. I am good at reading, so it’s going to be interesting.

“Especially for you, you need to buy more books,” Alice told me.

“Witches needed more books than us,” Jacen said.

“Um... yeah.” I nodded, still remembering the small incident. From the day I met him, I can’t take my mind off him and he’s acting the same. I think something’s going on between us. I am obsessed with him.
