Chapter 16: Chapter 16

“Welcome to my shop. Introduce yourself.” A woman in her forties, the owner of the crystal shop, asked us. The entire store is filled with many crystals of various sizes and colours. Some crystals are shining and floating in the air. Everything looked so mesmerizing.

“I am Sydney,” I said, but Jacen and Noah laughed at me.

“What? didn’t I need to introduce myself?” I yelled at them.

“Nope. she is a witch and we both are vampires. We are first-year students.” Jacen said and looked at me. Oh. So, there’s no need for names. I see. Oh god, I’m embarrassed.

“Fine.” The woman went inside a room and came outside with a big box full of small crystals, which I can easily hold in my hands.

“You are not going to choose the crystals. You can take anything of your own wish, but only the right ones will glow in your hands. It may take a long time for some people and a short time for others.” She said and kept that big box in front of us. There are over 100 crystals in it. How am I going to choose the right ones and I also wonder why there’s a large round crystal in the store if I can’t choose it.

“Why can’t we choose these crystals?” I asked Alice.

“That’s for future prediction. Kids can’t use it.” the woman explained. Predicting the future is interesting. I wish I could try these in the future.

“Oh no,” Noah yelled, holding a black crystal that would have burned his hands if he didn’t drop it in a second.

“Are you okay?” I got hold of his hands and looked at them. The small burn mark vanished slowly.

“Some give the bad luck and you shouldn’t choose that colour in your life,” she told to Noah. Then I took some crystals, but each time I took one, nothing happened. It’s been an hour and we can’t anything.

“I think I got it,” Jacen spoke after an hour of silence. He took red ones which glowed in his hands so brightly. I can stare at it for hours.

“One done now. We both are pending.” Noah gave a Hi-Fi to me. After that Jacen watched me the whole time while Iam searching. He doesn’t know he’s making me nervous by watching me continuously. I can’t concentrate on finding my crystal, but anyway I did it.

“I got it.” I proudly announced when I took a specific ocean blue crystal which floating in my hands and glowing brighter than Jacen’s red ones.

“Amazing. It suits your power.” Jacen praised me while the woman stared at me in shock.

“It’s the rarest one. I can’t believe you got this. This colour only chooses my rare witches or royal families.” She said in astonishment. Iam not royal, but I don’t think Iam a rare one. If there’s something special about me, I need to find the reason. Then Noah found an orange crystal at last and after payment, we were about to leave the shop and someone was about to enter it.

It’s Cassie. She always wants attention; we should leave now.” Jacen got hold of my hands.

“Who is she?” I asked, being so ignorant about this world.

“She’s the witch princess, but she isn’t nice like Victoria Hale. The most arrogant girl. That’s all I heard about her,” Jacen said about his theoretical knowledge, but I think this is the first time he’s meeting her. There’s a red carpet laying on the ground for her. The carpet reaches the entrance of this shop.

“You know what, Iam not going to wait so long for these stupid Crystals to finish the work or if it took longer time you need to face the consequences.” Cassie, the witch princess is shouting at her bodyguard when she entered the store. The owner looked sad at her words. She can’t hear someone saying so low about the crystals. Cassie is dressed in a long blue gown, which may cost a fortune.

“She won’t let us go until we gave her respect, which I can’t do. Let’s go.” Jacen urged me and we sneaked out of the store with Alice, but Noah got caught in her sight. Oh god, Noah was coming behind us. why couldn’t he escape?

“Good morning, princess.” Noah kissed her hands, and she behaved so proudly as everyone gives attention. But it’s all happening out of order, not by interest. They both started talking like old friends.

“Hey, is he flirting with her?” I asked once we were out of the store.

“Of course, he is. But I think she is flirting with Noah.” we both looked at them.

“Poor Noah,” I muttered, and he rushed outside after a few minutes.

“Wow Noah, how is your time with the princess?” I teased him, but he looked so serious.

“So bad. She’s acting like she’s the most powerful, beautiful witch in this whole universe. I tried to cut the conversation, but she’s not letting me go. I hope to not see her again in Academy.”

“Maybe she likes you.” I laughed at him, but Alice interrupted us.

“Don’t make fun of Cassie Hale. Anyone will hear our talks, which isn’t safe,” she advised, but who cares.

“She’s not that worth to be respected. I heard she always make problem to everyone with her power just with a snap of her fingers. Accept it, Alice.” Jacen demanded her. She looked uncertain.

“Let’s go to choose your uniform. You all need uniform to enter the Academy.” Alice changed the topic and walked in front of us having the crystals with her in a box.

“We won’t come until you accept it.” Both Jacen and Noah shouted in front of other people.

“Okay. You want the truth. I have never seen a girl like her before. It’s like ‘cross her heart and hope to die. Beware of her, you only know less about that wicked witch. You will see more when the year starts.” Alice approached and warned us in a whisper.

So, Cassie Hale is a problem. Iam looking forward to it.
