Chapter 20: Chapter 20

Chapter 19

There is no doubt that Alastor's camp rushed to the barbarians who were fewer in number than them. At first glance, you already know who will win this battle, but everyone was shocked when the ground opened around Alastor's men and from there in the pit appeared thousands of mage and wizards who looked like they were from another kingdom. .

My whole body went cold as I watched Alastor's staff surrounded by nearly 10,000 mage and wizards and add the barbarians who ruthlessly rained a mixture of fire, water, earth, and strong wind on them. The shouts of the people could be heard up to here as Alastor's men were gradually depleted.

"Retreat!" Trevas shouted in a loud voice so that almost 3,000 of his men withdrew.

"Sergeant Min, ready the traps. Lieutenant Jared and Colonel jay, Code red we need back up from the palace" Trevas said to the three generals and one by one they nodded before leaving to follow orders.

Trevas confronted us. "You two stay with me."

Lina and I nodded before obeying his command. One by one everyone is positioned as if their brains are connected so that even if they don't speak they know what to do. There were about 2,000 of us here on the front lines while 500 set up traps in front of us while the remaining 500 climbed the high mountain behind us to serve as long ranged as we fought the oncoming enemies.

We were in a good position because there was a big mountain behind us so the enemy could not rush backwards but the only bad thing was that we could not escape if by chance we had to flee.

"The message has already been sent to the palace but it will take a few more hours before the back-up arrives"

Trevas bit his lip at what lieutenant Jared said as he watched the ongoing battle between Alastor and the enemies not far away. "You don't really count Alastor at all"

"What's your order, general?" Lieutenant Jared asked him a serious question.

"We fight" Trevas replied, still not taking his eyes off the enemies that Alastor's men were now losing.

Alissa's POV

All was quiet as we watched the enemies march closer. They had already defeated Alastor's men and even I did not know if that proud prince was still alive. The enemies are still a few meters away from us but I can feel the nervousness because apart from the very quiet surroundings, they are much more numerous than us. I glanced at the enemies and realized that level 4 was the weakest of them while level 7 was the highest.

I breathed a sigh of relief because of this, only level 7 was the highest among us and that was Trevas, lieutenant Jared, me and another mage I didn't know. Although we have a lot of level 7 we have nothing compared to the power of a level 8 or more so we still have hope to win this battle.

When the enemies approached us, I suddenly frowned when I saw the uniform combat clothes they were wearing. Trevas' crew wore violet and black combat clothes; except us leaders. On the other hand, the opponent is dark blue and white, similar to the royal army of Bauxacel.

I was shaken and focused on the present. Maybe the Bauxacel royal army is not the only one with blue and white uniforms

I became even more nervous and could hear the pounding of my chest as the enemies approached us. The man in the front raised his right hand and at the same time they stopped walking a few steps away from the traps prepared by our camp earlier.

That man advanced to the front and was probably the most leader of the barbarians because he was one of those wearing clothes made of animal skin and a helmet made of a hard metal.

"We can avoid a bloody war if you surrender and allow us to enter the kingdom of Beifang" said the leader of the barbarians. Although he was still a few meters away from us, his voice could be heard here and he probably used magic to get stronger.

“Then what? What will you do once you enter the kingdom of Beifang? ” Trevas asked in a loud voice.

"Do you think I'll tell you our plans, leader of the enemy?" its question back.

Trevas raised his hand before black smoke gradually covered his arm. “Then you leave me no choice”

The leader of the barbarians grinned before raising his hand and there a ball of a mixture of fire and air element formed.

He is a dual user. Level 7 fire element and level 6 air element.

“So be it”

And that was the beginning of a bloody battle. The enemy side attacked first, so we activated the trap of our sinet-up earlier and the ground they were stepping on collapsed. Simultaneously with the landslide was the rain of various elements from the mountain behind us into the pit that the enemies had dug. The earth elements were immediately removed from the large pit and continued to run but the unlucky ones were trapped in the deep pit while awaiting their own death.

“FOR BEIFANG” Trevas shouted before running towards the enemies and we all immediately followed while shouting not out of fear but out of determination to win this fight.

I followed Trevas' run and tried to stay close to him and Lina so that I could easily help them in case they needed help. I released the transparent wing behind me before flying and raining sharp ice on the opponents ’behavior.

I watched trevas' men descend from the mountain behind us and joined the fight here below because if they continued to attack from above we could also hit their allies. I also saw from here above the rapid increase in the number of enemies because many fell into the trap we had prepared earlier.

I swerved and flew to the right when someone threw a stream of water in my direction. I looked at it and even before it could live again I was pelted with sharp ice that ended its life.

I would have rained sharp ice in the manner of the opponents but before I could do that I was suddenly blown away by a strong wind and hit my back on a large tree. I winced in pain but before I could feel the pain I immediately stood up and dodged the oncoming ball of fire in my direction.

I looked at any animal that had thrown stones before and my mouth almost stiffened with annoyance when I saw the most leader of the barbarians smiling at me. He stepped in my direction but was suddenly stopped and avoided by the oncoming black smoke coming from Trevas. I took the opportunity to get up from the grass where I was but suddenly stopped when I noticed a pink flower on the grass.

I looked up at the big tree I had knocked down earlier that was now burning because of the fire that the leader of the barbarians had thrown at me earlier but what I noticed most about the tree were its leaves- it wasn't leaves. It was a cherry blossom tree and its stems were full of flowers which made me smile.

I stood up before raising my right hand in the direction of the burning cherry blossom tree. At the same time its pink flowers flew in my direction which gradually turned blue violet and flew around me. I raised my left hand in the direction of another cherry blossom tree not far away and just like what happened to the previous tree it also gradually went bald as its flowers flew in my direction and circled around me.

I released the transparent wing behind me again before flying quickly in the middle of the battle and the flowers with sharp corolla also quickly followed me. I stretched out my hand in the direction of the opponents so that the sharp flowers also flew in that direction and because the enemies did not expect that the beautiful flowers could also be a weapon, they did not immediately dodge.

The number of enemies is getting smaller but also on our side so the battle became even more bloody because of the intense tension and determination of everyone to win.

I don’t know how long the fight has been going on as long as I just focus my attention on fighting and protecting Lina and Trevas.

I raised my right hand to hopefully use my ultimate water skill but before I could do that I suddenly heard Trevas shout loudly.

“Alissa! Watch out! ” I turned to my right and my eyes widened as I was exposed to the oncoming flaming ball of fire. I was about to teleport to leave even though I knew there was a high possibility that the fire would still catch up with me even if I teleported away when suddenly someone hugged my waist and pulled me away quickly.

My vision was almost blurred due to the speed of events, but I was so grateful when I realized that I had avoided the blazing fire when Trevas pulled me away.

I look at Trevas who is still holding my waist but my eyes suddenly widen when I see Trevas in front of me who is shocked looking at me and whoever is the man behind me.

If it wasn't for Trevas who saved me…

I was about to look behind me to find out who it was but suddenly all the hairs on my body stood up when a familiar voice whispered in my ear.

"Alissa, I finally found you."

To be continued..
