Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Chapter 13

I was about to speak so that the queen could answer even though I knew I would be punished for what I did but fortunately I suddenly stopped myself from speaking when the loud sound echoed throughout the room when the king struck the table in front of him.

"Silence!" He shouted, which was silenced by the whispers that Trevas should be removed from office. Why would they want to replace Trevas?

"You want to replace Trevas as crown prince?" Continuation of this.

"Yes, My king" replied one of the generals.

"Why?"

"Widespread throughout the kingdom is the rumor that you are not the real Father of Trevas my king. And many people are opposed to Trevas being the heir with the power of a demon" I frowned. Demon power? Couldn't he just enter the shadows?

"Are you saying, I will replace the crown prince of this kingdom just because of rumors? Are the ministers and generals of this kingdom so shallow?" Serious question from the king.

The general who spoke immediately stood up before bowing in the direction of the king. "That's not what I meant my king, I just don't want the day to come when Trevas becomes king but the people will not follow him and it might cause uprising and chaos"

"hmm?" The king asked before turning to Alastor next to him who had been silent for a while.

"In that case, who do you want to replace as crown prince?"

"My king, apart from Alastor there is no one more worthy to inherit—" the queen did not continue when she was suddenly cut off by the king.

"I'm not asking you" her face was serious so the queen almost trembled with fear and just kept quiet before bowing down.

"You want to trade Alastor for Trevas?" The king asked the generals and ministers in front of him. Everyone nodded and agreed that he made my blood boil even more.

I looked at Trevas next to me but I saw he was just calmly watching and watching the events so I did not speak.

"Trevas" the king called but I also turned to him and saw that he was now looking at Trevas.

"What can you say?" Continuation of this. I turned my gaze back to Trevas and saw his serious face.

Trevas was silent for a moment before he spoke. "If Alastor can beat me in a round of duel I will—"

Before Trevas could finish what he was saying, the people in the room suddenly made a noise and tried to protest what Trevas wanted to happen.

Suddenly the queen stood up from her seat before speaking angrily. "You want to fight Alastor in a duel? Do you plan to kill him?"

Why did they react so strongly? I looked around and watched the reaction of everyone in the room. I looked at Alastor's behavior and the two of us met, fear and shock on his face before he immediately bowed.

"If he can't beat me, then he doesn't deserve to be the heir" Trevas replied.

"Then do you think you deserve it? You don't have the right to inherit the throne because first of all I don't see you—"

"Vivian!" Everyone stopped speaking when the king's loud and angry voice echoed throughout the room.

The queen, whose name was probably Vivian, looked at the king before returning to her seat.

"My king, forgive me" was almost a whisper of this promise but everyone could hear it because until now the whole room is still enveloped in intense silence.

The king just nodded before looking back at Trevas and speaking. "I can't let you fight with Alastor"

I suddenly felt dissapointment. I still want to watch Trevas fight so that I can find out why everyone is so opposed to Trevas' desire to fight with his brother.

"But—" the king continued. "I will let you fight something else"

Trevas did not answer but the king just continued speaking. "We just talked a while ago about the barbarians in the west who are currently making trouble in one of the small towns of the kingdom. And we plan to send personnel to rush to the center of the barbarians camp so that they disappear forever."

"So ... You want me to rush to the camp of the barbarians to suppress them?" Trevas asked but instead of agreeing the king shook his head before smiling.

Her smiles were frightening and she seemed to be planning something bad especially when she suddenly laughed and leaned back in her chair.

"No, I want you two and Alastor to rush into the camp of the barbarians. And whoever of you two can kill their most leader will be the one I will appoint heir to this throne"

Alissa's POV

"Alright—"

"No way" Vivian interrupts what Trevas is saying. He glared at Trevas before turning his gaze to the king. "My king, it's too dangerous for Alastor to rush—"

"Vivian" Serious promise of the king which Vivian silenced. "If Alastor is not capable of waging war on the barbarians, he is not worthy to be the heir of this kingdom"

"But—"

"There is nothing but but. My decision is final. If they both die because of their stupidity, then I will look for someone more worthy to inherit this throne"

Vivian didn't speak anymore and just nodded before the king spoke again. "It's settled then, we will send two armies of soldiers to the camp of the barbarians and the leader of them will be the two princes and whoever catches the leader of the barbarians, alive or dead. He is the one I will appoint the new crown. prince "

The king paused for a moment and looked at each general and minister in the room one by one before speaking again. "Whoever is whining, speak up"

The expression on the king's face was serious and his eyes were sharp so no one dared to howl.

"Trevas, Alastor. Do you have something to say?" I saw Alastor shake but I was surprised when Trevas suddenly grabbed my arm before pushing me forward so that everyone could see me better.

If earlier when Trevas and I were in the back, the people in the room simply looked at me, they look at me even more now that Trevas and I are side by side.

I heard the people whispering in the room but I could not understand what they were saying all I heard were the words;

I heard the people whispering in the room but I could not understand what they were saying all I heard were the words;

"From another kingdom, isn't he a spy?"

I wanted to answer what a minister close to me said but Trevas spoke first to me so I just kept my mouth shut.

"I want to bring Alissa with me" she said as my eyes widened. What? Will he take me? In the camp of the barbarians?

I was shaken and grabbed by the hand of Trevas who was holding my arm and forcibly removed. Trevas turned to me and frowned at me.

"What?" He whispered to me.

"Why would you be in trouble? What have I got to do with being your crown prince?"

"I'll explain it to you later" Trevas said to me before facing the king again.

"Who? Alissa?" The king asked Trevas before turning his gaze in my direction.

“This is Alissa Knoxx, she was the one who saved me when someone tried to kill me while looking for the cure for my poisoning” Trevas said.

"Someone tried to take your life?" The king suddenly frowned but instead of answering, Trevas just shifted his gaze to Alastor. The king followed where Trevas was looking before he looked at Alastor who until now was silently bowing.

"Understood" the king nodded before facing Trevas again. "May I ask, why do you want to include this ... Alissa"

"Do I have to answer that?" Suddenly I frowned at Trevas' answer. Why would he want to include me

The king laughed a little before leaning back in his chair. "No, I don't really care who you want to include. You're leaving next week so it's better if you start preparing"

The king stood where he stood so that everyone stood up at the same time and bowed slightly in respect. "The meeting is over"

The king walked away first and the people remained bowed except for Trevas and me who had a thick face.

The king walked towards us because until now we were still standing at the door but before the king could pass us he suddenly stopped walking and looked at me from head to toe before continuing to walk. When the king finally left, the people in the room stood up straight and began to talk about the previous meetings.

I noticed that people were simply looking at us, especially me, who were already looking at each other as soon as I entered, but I ignored them and just pulled Trevas out of the room.

I pulled him to where no one was before I addressed him. "Why are you feeling sorry for your trouble? Who said you could take me with you in that attack?"

"I need you"

"W-what?" Suddenly my eyes widened at what he said. I saw Trevas suddenly stop when he marealize what he said and immediately explained.

"That's not what I meant. I need you to help me"

"Why would I do that? Aren't you indebted to me because I treated your poisoning?"

"You treated his poisoning?" I suddenly looked behind me when suddenly someone spoke and there Trevas' mother Vivian exposed herself to me and behind her Alastor followed.

"Mother." Trevas calls before bowing in respect. I frowned at what I saw, a woman like this should not be respected.

"You're cured?" Trevas nodded.

To be continued....
