"Apologize for what exactly, Kyle?" Kimberly asked angrily, staring into my face, the woman in the cell with her pulled on her cloth a little bit, I think she is trying to say something to her.

"Let go of my cloth Katy," Kimberly said to the woman when she pulled on her clothes again.

"I think she's trying to say something to you," I told Kimberly, gesturing to her to listen to the lady pulling on her cloth, I hope she apologizes so that Sonia won't drag this any further.

"Let her decide her fate, Kyle," Sonia said to me, she looks like she is enjoying herself, she knew that I am not happy about this but yet she wants me to do the talking.

I am only doing this for Kimberly, and I know Sonia is aware of it and she's doing this to punish me.

"She will apologize to your fiancée, Sir," The woman Kimberly addressed as Katy said to me, "Miss Sonia she will apologize to you," Katy said turning to face Sonia, who just stared at her and said nothing, I guess she doesn't want Kimberly to apologize so that she can remain here in the police cell, according to mum's instruction.

"I do not have all day, I've got something to do..." Sonia said rudely to Kimberly.

"Go ahead and apologize to Miss Sonia, Kimberly," the woman called Katy told her, urging her on.

"Sorry Sonia," Kimberly finally said looking from the woman to Sonia after she has given it a thought I guess.

"That's no way to apologize," Sonia told Kimberly, still in a rude manner, "If you must apologize, do it properly," Sonia added.

I looked from Sonia to Kimberly not knowing what to say or do now, I see the way Kimberly looked at Sonia, she must be filled with rage right now, I wish she doesn't say anything to give Sonia a reason to call this off, because she's waiting for that opportunity.

"Apologize to her, Kimberly," I told her, my eyes fixed on her, hoping she let go of her pride for her son's sake.

"Go on, Kimberly..." Katy urged her on, and whispered something into her ears.

"I'm sorry, Miss Sonia," Kimberly said again after a while, but her eyes speaks volume of how she truly feels.

"What are you sorry for?" Sonia asked Kimberly spitefully, this is the point where I would normally let my anger get the better of me, but I chose to hold it in with every bit of strength in me, I can see Kimberly feels the same way because she folded her palms into a fist, and biting down her lower lip, Sonia will never stop, I thought angrily within me.

"I'm sorry, Miss Sonia for slapping your face earlier," Kimberly said to her again, she must be a very strong woman and a loving mum to do what she did, I guess the likes of Sonia can never do the same.

"She’s done it, Sonia, tell them to let her go," I told Sonia, still controlling my anger.

"You know what, Kimberly or whatever you call yourself, you should count yourself lucky that my fiancé here took pity on your situation, and pleaded with me on your behalf, he is usually not like this, but I wonder why he chose to be soft on you after what you did to me, I guess it's because of your son's condition, else he would have seen to it that you stay here for a very long time," she told Kimberly sounding so sweet all of a sudden, I wanted to shout at her to stop this stupid act of hers but again my hands are tied and all I can do is try and hold it all in.

"Isn't that right, Kyle?" Sonia asked walking closer to me, acting all sweet and loving and I guess it's best to play along with her, cause I do not know what she is up to now.

"You're right darling," I said, turning to her, "What are you doing?" I whispered into her ears.

"You heard him, so make sure not to repeat such nonsense ever again and one more thing, pray you don't cross my part like this in the future, cause I may not be merciful next time, even though my sweet and loving fiance here pleads on your behalf," She said again to Kimberly, ignoring my question.

"Where is Scott?" Sonia asked, turning towards the officers, "Excuse me, darling," Sonia said nicely to me, before walking towards the officers, I knew she's playing at something, she's so despicable and shameless, I told myself.

"You're such a puppet in your fiancée's palm," Kimberly suddenly said glaring at me.

I turned to face her immediately after her statement, taking unawares by what she just said, I know she must hate me so much and think the worst of me, but never did I imagine her to think of me as a puppet in Sonia's hands.

I can take being called any other name by her but not a puppet of Sonia, because that’s not what I am, if not for the circumstances of her arrest, I would never have put up with Sonia's behaviour and Sonia herself knows this.

I stood still staring back at her, heartbroken, not knowing what to say to her, not even a reply to her statement.

"Come on, darling, officer Scott will take it from here, we have to go now, you know, you are not feeling very well, you need to go and rest now," Sonia said, pulling softly on my shoulders, I wanted to yell at her this minute to stop this acting but I still held it all in, at least not here.

"What's this other woman in for?" I asked officer Scott who is standing beside Sonia, pointing at the woman called Katy.

"She’s a trouble maker, Sir," Officer Scott replied.

"Did she commit murder?" I asked Officer Scott, turning to look at Katy, I'm only trying to help her because of how friendly she is towards Kimberly, and I know it's because of her help Kimberly apologised quickly.

"No, sir, she's here because she poured a woman's goods away without agreeing to pay back," Officer Scott said.

"I did not say I won't pay back, I only asked to be given some time because I do not have the money, besides it was an accident," Katy said.

"Just that?" I asked a little surprised.

"That's why she here sir," Officer Scott replied.

"Let her go too, I'll pay what she owes the person who put her here," I told Officer Scott.

"Okay, sir," he replied.

"You see, my fiance here is a generous man," Sonia said putting her arms around my neck, "Today is your lucky day, both of you," she yelled pointing at both Kimberly and Katy.

"Enough kindness for today, darling, we have to go now," Sonia said slipping her arm under mine, gesturing for us to leave the station.

I took one more look at Kimberly before leaving, I'll find a way to explain everything to her to clear this misunderstanding starting from when we first met, and hopefully, I'll also clear her nation of me being a puppet of Sonia...
