Chapter 29: Chapter 29

Kyle Greenwood’s POV

"How can you put up with this, Kyle," Brian asked as he helped me sit down on a chair in the lobby.

"That woman is rude, does she even know who you are?" He asked, sounding very angry "And how can you tolerate her slapping Sonia like that?" He added, and it sounded like he is scolding me.

"Don't even bring that up, Brian, Sonia brought that upon herself, I mean, did you see how she spoke to Kimberly, that was unacceptable," I told Brian, I wished I was strong enough when she was speaking to her and Alex in that manner, I would have walked her out of the room myself, I feel embarrassed myself by her behavior, I wonder what Kimberly would be thinking about me right now.

"Oh, that's her name?" Brian asked, sitting down beside me.

"Yes, that's her name, Sonia should not have spoken to a woman whose son is in such a state like that, you know, I mean what was she thinking? She should put herself in that woman's place." I replied.

"Well that's not enough for her to go ahead and slap her the way she did, and you didn't even say anything about it, I know you have never liked Sonia but that's no reason for you not to have defended her out here, and I tell you Sonia will not let it slide, you know how she is better than I do," Brian told me.

"You should learn to defend your wife in public you know," he added.

"Well, Sonia is not my wife yet," I snapped at his statement, the thought of she being my wife irritates me, not to talk of it being said.

"Whatever, Kyle, just know that she won't let that slap slide," Brian said rather calmly.

"I know, am going to talk to her," I told Brian because I know that he is right about Sonia.

"That's if she will be willing to listen to you, the both of you have not been on the same page for some time now," He reminded me.

"Yeah right, I know, but am still going to talk to her," I replied.

"By the way, how did you find out am here?" I asked him.

"I didn't know you were here, I called home when I didn't see you in the office, and then I was told you already left, I called the security man to confirm, and he told me a lady came by looking for you, when he described the lady and what transpired between you two, I knew at once that you will be here," he explained.

"Why then, did you not come alone, why did you have to bring Sonia here with you?" I asked.

"Dad had asked her to come here with me yesterday, things weren't supposed to turn out this way if not for you," he said, glancing briefly at me.

"When will dad stop involving Sonia in matters concerning me?" I asked getting angry, no wonder she was here acting like a concerned wife, it's so embarrassing, what was she trying to prove anyway?

"Speaking of dad, Kyle, he will be so mad at you, if he finds out what you have done." Brian said.

"I know," I replied, I don't care anyway, I said within me, what mattered to me now is for Alex to recover, I hope the blood transfusion helps.

"Why did you do it anyway, I mean, look at you man, you don't look good, at all, and why will Doctor Sam agree to this?" Brian asked looking angry, "You know your blood is a rear one and it's very difficult to find a type, why risk yourself for some strangers kid?" He asked again turning to look at me.

"That's because I was responsible for the boy's condition, didn't you see? That boy is fighting for his life, Brian and I hope he comes out of it alive," I told him.

"I know, but that's still not enough for you to give so much blood," he said, I know he is concerned about me but, he still will not understand how I feel about that kid, he is the son of the woman I love and that makes him very special and it's important to me that he lives.

"You won't understand, Brian," I told him, sitting back on the chair.

"What is there not to understand, Kyle?" He asked, peering at me.

"Let it go, Brian, you will not understand," I replied looking away from him, I can't begin to tell him who that woman is to me and how important it is to me that her son lives...
