Chapter 32: Chapter 32

"Is it okay to deliver his food to his office?"

They all stopped chewing on their own food just to stare at me. It was as if I had grown five heads from how they all stared at me. I swallowed the lump in my throat, unsure where this was heading. It's a typical suggestion since I felt awful about Harry's situation. Still, I remember I shouldn't go out and risk myself. It's too dodgy.

"Never mind, it was just a-"

"Well, you can actually." Rena chimed in, waving her hands. I shook my head, actually not in favor of the idea.

"You know what? That's actually a great idea. You can deliver food to Sir Harry. He's been working hard all his life. He needs to lay low for the meantime." Ira suggested, and the workers agreed with her.

I suddenly felt uncomfortable about this setup. I opened my mouth to say something when another worker spoke.

"Thanks for the idea. I saw how Sir Harry grew fond of you and how he looks at you."

They teased me, and Rena poked my waist, which I just laughed uncomfortably. I wanted to protest and say something, but I couldn't since their voices filled the dining area. Oh god, they got it all wrong. I just see Harry as a friend and nothing else. He's a nice guy, and he deserves someone better. Besides, I already have a husband. I don't blame them if they don't know about Ethan since he's stationed upstairs, and only doctors, nurses, Harry, and I can go inside.

"Yeah, you can give sir Harry his food to his office. It's on the top floor, I think. Eddie can drive you there." Rena exclaimed. Then she pointed at a man who nodded in gesture, telling me he would do it without a doubt.

"Guys, listen first. I really can-"

"Can do it? Sure you can, Ma'am! Sir Harry will be happy to see you in his office. Don't worry. He won't treat you like someone else. With his attitude, he would be even happy to see you deliver his food."

"It should be a surprise, so he will feel special about it. Sir Harry has been working this past few years."

"I'll set up his food. You deliver it, but next time, you'll be the one who'll cook it."

One of the workers, Savanah, stood up and hurriedly went to the compartment to get a container. I wanted to say something, but they wouldn't just let me speak a damn word! I suppressed my emotions from exploding since my heart started to accelerate, scared the moment I would get out of this house. It's okay for me to deliver his food for him if I am not in a situation where he is being chased by authorities.

But it's not used. The plan was already settled. Eddie had already stood on his seat, walking towards the garage to set up the car. The maids also got up from their seats, planning to clean the whole dining area. I was left there, staring out of nowhere. I breathed a heavy sigh, thinking of how I would deliver his food without looking suspicious? People probably have heard the news about me, and I was lucky enough to be placed here under a roof where there are no televisions. I noticed it when I toured the house once.

"Are you okay, Natasha? It seems like you're thinking of something."

Someone sat beside me and saw it was Rena. I smiled a little at her, shaking my head.

"You can just call me Natasha. Drop the formality.' I told her.

"Well, if that's what you say, then alright. But what's bothering you?" she asked, placing the paper bag in front of me. This must be where the food was put.

"Just…nervous…" I whispered, lowering my vision to the ground. Well, I am nervous but for a different reason, which they don't know, and I am not planning to tell them about it.

"Oh! You don't have to. Sir Harry would welcome you. He's a humble person, as you already saw it. He's a walking gentleman and knows how to treat someone nicely and equally. So, don't worry about a thing."

I smiled at her, hiding under the mask I wore. I felt so guilty all of a sudden for hiding something from them. If only it was easy to tell them about our situation and that everyone had the same understanding and perspective. But we're living in a harsh reality that some people may understand and some might see differently. I don't want to risk everything after surviving barely.

It's risky, but to protect Ethan's life here, I would go out and deliver the food. I would use something to hide my face so people wouldn't recognize me if they knew the news.

"Rena, I have a favor to ask. If it's okay?"

"Sure, what is it?"

I hope I won't sound suspicious after asking her what I needed. Rena leaned away, squinting her eyes a little before her lips formed into an 'o' shape, understanding it clearly.

"Oh, I see you want him to think it's a different person. Okay, I understand it." Rena stood up before storming out of the kitchen to get what I asked for.

While waiting, I mentally prepared myself for this. I just hope nothing goes wrong and everything went smoothly. When Rena returned, she handed me the face mask and rubber so I could tie my hair. I accepted it and took the paper bag, getting out of the house.

"Good luck!"

Rena waved her hand, smiling and punching her fist in the air. I shook my head, laughing because somehow, the anxiety eased down. I went outside the front porch and was fascinated when I saw the yard. It was spacious, and everything was built with luxury. I couldn't help but gawk at everything. There are statues, a fountain in the middle, bushes, and tall trees. Oh god, how much is Harry's net worth to have this kind of life?

"Good morning, Ma'am!"

The gardeners all wave their hands at me. I couldn't help but smile back at them, showing my respect. Everyone here is so friendly and very down-to-earth. It only means that Harry is an excellent boss to them that they look up to. I was about to head to the garage where Eddie was waiting for me when I heard a bark coming from behind. I turned around and saw Bobby!

"Aw! Hi baby!" I kneeled down a little, petting his head. I hugged him and kissed him on the head. He looks pleased to see me. He wiggled his tail, sticking out his tongue playfully. I also heard another series of barks, and when I looked up, my eyes widened in horror to see three large dogs standing before me, waiting for Bobby.

"Uh…are they your friends, sweetie?" I asked, and Bobby barked in response. I just hope they won't bite my poor baby because he's so tiny compared to them. The dogs are big, probably taller, and bulkier than me if they stood up.

"Hello, Ma'am Natasha. Let's go."

I stood up, letting go of Bobby, who ran away, and the dogs chased after them. When Eddie spoke, I raised my hand, scared for my dog to see him being chased by enormous dogs.

"Don't worry about your dog, Ma'am. Those dogs are trained properly, and they will attack only if an intruder gets inside this area."

Eddie took the bag and headed to the parked car in front of the two tall gates. I trailed behind him. He opened the passenger seat for me, and I smiled, bowing my head a little before getting inside. Eddie closed the door and went around the car, heading straight to the driver's seat. The gate automatically opened by itself, and we took off, getting out of the subdivision and heading towards the highway. I shifted in my seat, playing with my finger while looking outside the window. I'm nervous since I'm going out again to the world, and I just hope no one will notice me.

"Why are you wearing a mask, Ma'am?"

I suddenly looked at Eddie when he asked after a moment of silence. I breathed out, biting my lip. I knew he would be asked about it, and mentally, I prepared hundreds of reasons why I was wearing a face mask.

"I'm just…not used to the air conditioner in the car," I exclaimed, pointing at the AC. Eddie was about to turn it off and roll the windows when I stopped him.

"No…no! It's okay. I can manage." I told him, and Eddie nodded.

"Sir Harry's office is stationed at the top most floor of the building. Just say you are his relative so they can let you go inside." Eddie explained.

"Are there…a lot of people there?" I asked, suppressing my tone to sound nervous. I just hope Eddie wouldn't notice that I look constipated about going out. He might ask what's wrong, and I can't think of an excuse to say.

"Yes. Since Sir Harry mentioned a board meeting, there are probably different Executive Chiefs who visited his company to discuss the new product sir Harry is telling me."

I suddenly wanted to back out when he mentioned many plus people in one sentence. I closed my eyes, mentally cursing myself. Why did I even tell them the idea to send Harry a lunch? Now I'm walking in a thin line where my life is wagered.

"But, don't worry about sir Harry. Once he knew it was you, he would automatically let you inside his office. You're not new to him, and I saw how he became attached to you in just days."

Eddie looked at me, giving me this flattering grin.

"He trusts you."
