Chapter 31: Chapter 31
Harry’s eyes widen, looking at me and giving me a one thumbs up. He swallowed first before speaking.
“It’s actually delicious! Wow…I mean…this is great! I could get loads of this in my office.” he went for another sip of the soup.
I smiled while watching him devour the soup I made for him. I was glad he actually enjoyed it somehow. He offered me to take a seat, so I did what he told me to. He snaps his finger, asking the other helpers to serve me my food. I was about to protest and stood up since I could handle myself when he stopped me by placing his hand above my finger.
“Let them serve you. It’s okay,” he reassured me that I shouldn’t be embarrassed about it.
I stared at his eyes, observing them carefully when I sighed and nodded in response. He smiled a little. We just sat there, staring at each other when I coughed, motioning my hand.
“You’re still holding it,” I told him, and he quickly removed it, looking away. I caught his cheeks become ruddy, probably embarrassed by his move.
I chuckled since it’s not a big deal to me anyway. I saw Rena coming our way, holding the plate that was still boiling hot. She smiled at me before placing it on the table. She sneakily winked at me, and I have no idea what she meant by that. She stood up, walking away while waving her hands in delight. Someone woke up on the right side of the bed.
I picked up my spoon and started to munch on my food. It was inconvenient since Harry wasn’t talking too much, and all eyes coming from the helpers were staring at us, watching us eat. Is this really necessary? They can join us, but that is up to Harry since he owns this mansion, and I have no idea what he is up to.
“Oh, shoot!”
I was startled when he quickly stood up, looking at his wristwatch. It looks like something came up in his mind since he looked uneasy. He picked up the bowl and sipped all the soup even though it was still hot.
“I’m late for the meeting!” he exclaimed, leaving us stunned in the kitchen. I blinked. Is he always like this?
“Eat up, Ma’am. You don’t want your food to get soggy.”
I flinched when I heard Rena in front of me, cleaning up the plates Harry left behind. I smiled at her, taking a full spoon bite on my food.
“Is he always like that?” I asked, worried he might forget to take care of himself. Harry looks like a busy man somehow. He’s just making time for his guests here.
“You have no idea,” she whispered, placing the bowl on a tray.
“Sir Harry has always been busy. He was always on a phone call, urgent meetings like that, and would sometimes go home after a week,” she explained, looking at the direction Harry had taken off.
“It’s actually nice to see him often go home, unlike before. But, oh well, since he brought you and your husband here, he probably wants to make sure that both of you are alright.” Rena winked, giving me a clue or something. I tilted my head to the side, which I didn’t get at all.
“Oh, girl, you’re so clueless. Aren’t you attractive to him somehow? Don’t you want him?” Rena said it was as if she’s almost pleading with me to be with their Sir Harry.
I nodded politely, smiling at her, “No, Rena. I already have a husband.” I told her, and her face frowned.
“You always mentioned your husband when we don’t clearly know what he looks like.” she stomped her feet, throwing a little tantrum which made me chuckle a bit.
If she meets my husband once he wakes up, she might consider barking for him, not his Sir Harry. I mean, Harry is nice and also attractive, I can admit that, and I admire his looks. Still, I can’t imagine myself dating him or having romantic feelings with him. I’m in love with Ethan, and he’s the only man I chose to be with for eternity, even after death.
“Rena! Get back here! You need to continue these dishes!” one of the maids scolded her, and she almost fled towards the sink, waving her hands before giving me a look. We’ll talk later. I chuckled slightly, finishing my meal before placing it in the sink. All of the maids were already done in the kitchen, and most are in the living room now. Mostly, cleaning, swiping, waxing, and dusting off the whole house.
“Hey!”
When I was about to go upstairs to talk with Ethan since it’s my daily routine to visit him in his room when I heard Harry’s voice. I lifted my face and saw him wearing his black coat while his tie was hanging around his neck. I narrowed my eyes when he finally reached me.
“I’m sorry about that earlier. I might get home late since there are many things to do. If you need anything, just ask anyone around here, and they will help you in no time.” he reminded me and was about to leave when I stopped him on his elbow.
“Wait…”
“Yeah-” he stopped when I leaned closer, holding his tie and fixing it. It loosened a little, and it might fall off him.
“There.” I tap on his chest, fixing it. “All done!”
I look up just to notice him staring at me. I was confused at first until it became uncomfortable the next minute. I faked a cough, stepping back a little to give him space.
“You can go now to your meeting.” I smiled, gesturing my head.
Harry didn’t say anything for a minute. I turned around, I was about to go upstairs since he was going to be late, and I didn’t want to bother him any longer when he suddenly said something that made me halt in my tracks.
“Your husband is lucky to have you, Natasha.”
I blink multiple times before turning around only to see him running outside. I guess he’s already late and needs to catch up on his meeting. I shook my head, beaming to myself because the compliment flattered me. It’s actually the other way around, Harry.
I am lucky to have Ethan. If only he’s awake. I sighed, deciding finally to go upstairs and talk with Ethan, telling him everything that had happened in my life here for the past few days.
When lunch came, I decided to take a quick shower. After getting out of the bathroom, a dress was already placed on the bed. Probably, one of the maids got in here while I was cleansing myself and put on the outfit I was going to wear. I walked up to it, looking at it closer. The design was cute, and anyone who could wear it would make them look elegant.
Even though I wanted to refuse this kind of style, I had no other choice. I wore it and looked at myself in the mirror, satisfied with my look.
“Hello, Ma’am.”
When I reached the marbled floor of the house, they all bowed their heads to me before continuing their work. The gesture made my cheeks blush since they could call me by my usual name.
Someone squealed beside me, and someone hugged me from my side before I could turn around. I was shocked by the sudden gesture. I saw Rena jumping while clapping her hands. Her eyes roamed all over my body.
“It actually suits you!” she covered her mouth and did more squealing when she got scolded again because of her nose.
“Thank you.” I bowed my head a little, showing her my gratitude.
“Don’t be so formal. We’re friends from now on, okay? You can act normal beside me.” she wiggled her eyebrows, and her enthusiasm made me laugh.
“Sure!” I raised my hand, and we did the high five.
“By the way, it’s already lunch, and since sir Harry is not here, we can eat all together.”
We walked toward the kitchen, and I was surprised to see all the workers inside. Different food was placed on the table, and the sight made my stomach grumble.
“Why don’t you eat with him?”
“Well, sir Harry told us like a million times before to sit down and join him in the meal, but we chose not to. Out of respect to him as our boss.” Rena explained, and that made me smile.
Harry is a lovely person and wouldn’t let anyone around him suffer. We all took a sit since the table is long and at least I think twenty people can fit. But there are also other tables in the kitchen, so the other helpers went there.
Everyone was having their own time. Everyone looked happy, and I was also chatting and sharing some of my life with them. Well, most of my stories are with Ethan. I only include how I was deeply in love with him.
“He sounds like a nice guy. I hope he wakes up soon.” Jenny, one of the maids, sitting right in front of me, held my hand, caressing it.
“I just hope so too.” I glanced away, suddenly all gloomy, and they must have felt this because they changed the topic quickly. I was glad they prevented me from getting drained, and the thought caressed my heart.
“Sir told you he’s going home late?” they asked, and I nodded in response.
“Does he go home sometimes to eat lunch, or he’ll eat there?” I asked.
Rena shook her head, “Nope, if sir Harry said he’s going home late, his work is continuous, and he can’t eat for the whole day. He basically doesn’t have time to eat.”
I was stunned and felt terrible about it when something came up with an idea.
