Chapter 63: Chapter 63

I heard voices echoing in my ears. I shifted from my spot but ended up halting because of the pain I felt in my back. I winced, gritting my teeth and trying to control the scrutinizing torment rushing into my system. I wanted to move my body, but it was tough to handle my muscles. They are getting benumbed.

I slowly opened my lids. I couldn't depict where am I  as my vision was still hazy from dozing off. I clearly don't recognize a thing. I was massaging my temples when I heard someone speak beside me.

"Get up and eat your food."

The voice wasn't familiar. Due to my sudden adrenaline rush that maybe it was someone else and would harm me when I realized it was the old man who let us go inside his cabin. He was sharpening his knife, making that terrible screeching noise.

That was when I noticed Ethan wasn't around. I quickly jolted from my bed, but it left me screaming because of the pang I felt. It shook my body to the core. I fell again on the wooden bed, wincing and groaning. I heard the old man snickered.

"I guess you forgot you're injured. Don't move too much. They just removed the bullet from your back." the old man explained. Then I felt him stand up, walking towards my way. I opened my eyes and saw him sitting on the edge, watching me.

"W-who's they?" I weakly asked after a long silence surrounded us. He inhaled and then took the food resting on the side of my wooden bed.

"My granddaughter and your husband."

When he mentioned Ethan, I tried to move my head to lean my body. The old man offered his hand.

"Carefully lift your chin and breath while moving so your muscles won't be stretched out too much," he advised, then watched me carry my own body just to get up. I understand he's old and cranky, but he isn't helping in this way even if he's trying. So I ended up dropping again, suffering.

"You're weak."

He commented, then stood up, leaving me solitary. My forehead creased, offended by what he said. I clenched my fist and then shot him a glare. I don't care if he's more geriatric than me or if he let us inside his house and helped us from the authorities. But if he's going to show us how fucked up his character is, he lost my respect.

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one who got shot," I muttered, enough for him to hear what I said. He stopped in his tracks, but he didn't turn around to look at me, so I continued.

"I know you saved us from getting arrested and let us live here for the meantime in your cabin, but I don't understand why you are going to treat us this way?" I asked, my eyebrows wrinkled.

He didn't say anything. However, he turned around, slowly looking my way. When our eyes locked, he suddenly lifted his hand and brought it to his other hand. I thought he would scratch it or something when he removed it, causing me to scream in horror. He got no arm!

"What's happening?!" the door opened abruptly. When his eyes landed on mine, Ethan unexpectedly came into the setting, darting frantically over the area. He hurriedly crossed the gap between us.

"You're awake, my love." he wrapped his arms around me and then helped me to stand up, leaning me against the wall. The woman soon came to the scene, inspecting the fuss all about.

"Granddad!" the woman yelled and ran up to him.

"What are you doing? Are you okay? Did your arm fall again?" she asked one question after another.

"I'm fine, Charm." the old man exclaimed, then looked at us. Charm helped him attach his arm again that he took off. He went to our side, pointing his finger at me. Ethan blocked his body, facing him, ready to protect me.

"I was chased before after escaping prison. I had no one beside me. They took my arm."

I couldn't speak when he peeked just to look at me straight in the eyes. He gritted his jaw and then turned away harshly.

"The government is more perilous than the beast they are hunting for. You have no vision of what they do behind those masks," he warned before storming out of the place, leaving us three behind.

An awkward silence filled the corners of the room when he left. I didn't realize I was holding my breath when Ethan glanced at me and then bent his upper body so that our eyes could meet.

"Are you alright?" he asked. His tone of voice changed, replaced by apprehension. He caressed my cheeks slightly and then checked my body to see if something was wrong.

"Sorry about that. My grandad has trust issues because of what the authorities did to him." Charm explained sincerely, then went to Ethan's side. I stiffened when she rested her hands on his biceps, stroking them slightly.

"I did what you asked, Ethan. Do you have any more requests?" she asked, willing to be submissive. Ethan looked at her from his shoulders and then a tiny smile.

"It's okay, Charm, you can take a rest too. Thank you for everything."

Charm didn't say anything for a minute. I caught her eyes on his lips, taking her juncture to observe them. She licked her own and then followed her grandad, leaving us alone.

"What did you two do?" I asked when our eyes met.

"She helped me buy some medicines for you," he exclaimed. Then I noticed he was carrying a plastic bag in his right hand.

"They have a car. I drove her and don't worry, no one followed us and noticed my identity. We got back earlier than usual, so she cooked a meal."

"However, how are you feeling? Does your back hurt?"

I nodded, which is true because I fell on my back numerous times when I woke up. It's a good thing the operation was successful, and they managed to get out the bullet.

"Charm was a nurse before, so she handled your situation smoothly."

My mouth shaped like a letter 'o', amused by what I heard. For no apparent reason, something was weighing down my emotion. I can't figure out what it is, but I'm sure it has something to do with what I listened to.

"What did that old man do to you while we were gone?" he asked, his voice went rugged all of a sudden as if he's ready to fight back.

"He just made fun of how weak I was because I couldn't get up," I told him.

"I see. Have you eaten anything?"

I shook my head in response. He nodded, and he took the food next to me. It was placed on the plate, and the food was definitely cold because it had been served before. He stirred the food before he put it in my mouth. He gestured for me to open my mouth, so I followed his order.

"Ethan..."

The two of us kept silent as he helped me eat my food. I was looking at my palms, playing with them slightly. I don't know why, but I can't look him straight after recollecting what we talked about in the apartment before we escaped. I couldn't forgive myself. After all, I had said to him, he is now willing to serve me, save me, and offer everything.

"You seemed thinking of something. What's the matter?"

I stopped chewing when he threw another question. I gradually looked up to see him looking intently into my soul. The way his stares sent shivers down my spine made my inner demons tremble. Something fondles above my stomach. When I looked down, it was his hands that were stroking it.

"Hmm?" he raised his brows, waiting for my answer.

"I was-Ethan!" I breathed sharply when he inserted his hand inside my shirt. Now his palm is in contact with my skin.

"You're taking too long to answer me, Natasha." he taunted, his voice stern and captivating. He clicks his tongue while not breaking any eye contact with me.

"Ethan, not here." I glared at him, but he didn't look threatened because he continued to stroke my belly, then it went higher until he was cupping my breast with his palm.

"If you're thinking of our argument before, forget about it, Natasha. I will forgive you even if you hurt me how many times."

He continued to stroke my breast. I bit my bottom lip, fighting the urge not to moan, especially since we're not even in a private area. Other people are living here with us. Anytime now, they can catch baptizing the area.

I tried to stop Ethan, but he slapped my hands away, telling me not to fight back because he knew I loved the thrill. I know it brings intimacy and excitement to what we are doing, but my conscience wouldn't forgive me.

"Ethan, please-ah!" I covered my mouth with my hand when he snapped my underwear using only his fingers. He inserted two inside, causing me to grip tightly on his knuckles, shaking my head.

"Ethan..." I whispered, telling him to stop, but my body betrayed me because I was undoubtedly enjoying it.

"I'm near..." I closed my eyes. My feet are quivering. He accelerates his fingers, his face frowned, gritting his jaw and focusing and giving me pleasure.

"Moan, my name, Natasha," he demanded, wrapping his enormous hand on my neck. I gasped for air, trying to fight back, but the pleasure outweighed my whole system.

"Ethan!" I almost yelled, but I restrained myself, scared they might hear us.

"Ethan?"

We both stopped immediately when we heard Charm's voice. It was followed by footsteps.
