Chapter 19: Chapter 19

I woke up from a sweet smell that was corrupting my nostril. I let out a prolonged yawn while squinting my eyes. I look at my surroundings, trying to identify where I am. My brain is still under maintenance while still processing what’s happening. When I looked down and saw my bare breasts, I remembered everything.

I sat up straight, and my heart was pounding crazy while caressing my cheeks. I couldn’t believe this. Am I still alive? I mean yeah, I’m alive, but I know I was supposed to die when Ethan stopped me. I froze on my spot when I recollected what happened between us.

I gulp when I touch my lips, tracing it down to my neck. When I pull up down there, I felt an agonizing sore between my legs. My lips parted when I tried to get up, but useless. He went delirious last night as if it’s the last thing he will do on earth. I couldn’t drawback up with his speed until I passed out.

Oh god, that's so embarrassing. I think I don't dare to face him right now. The door slams open as if on cue, making me shriek in my spot. I instinctively covered my upper body even though he had seen them. When our gaze met, I caught a hunter's eyes. As if he will hook you up with his sharp claws and dazzling pointy fangs. You can't conceal, run, or even escape from his discernment.

My view roamed around his perfectly well-built body sculpted by a fabled craftsman. When he steps up, I crawl back. I can’t read what he’s thinking, and I am appalled at what he can do to me. When he stopped on my feet, I anticipated he would do something lurid, but unfortunately, he just sat on the side bed.

“You’re awake,” he stated while his eyes were roaming around the bed sheets.

“Oh, no. I’m asleep right now.” of course, I didn’t say this to him. He might get annoyed and change his mind to let me live. I won’t waste this second chance.

“S-so…ahm.” I cursed inside my brain, couldn’t think of anything to say. He arched his eyebrow, waiting for me to say something. I innocently smiled at him, my hand tightening around the sheet.

I yelled in surprise when he suddenly threw away the sheet, exposing my body to him. I covered my chest and private part below, and my cheeks were heating up. I know he saw them already, but there’s a difference in intercourse during night and daylight. It’s morning right now, and I know he saw it momentarily, but his eyes narrowed, and his jaw tightened, making a low intimidating sound. He clicks his tongue.

“Are you sore?” he asked. His voice is raspy, but it’s laced with genuine concern. I bit my inner cheeks as I played with my fingers. I can’t look at him, and I feel like he will ravish me the moment our eyes lock. I took a deep breath and nodded my head.

“Hm…”

Before I could comprehend what happened, I saw myself lying on the bed, legs spread apart, and him in between on my top. My eyes widened as he lowered his head towards my sensitive part that was aching. I attempted to cover it with my hands, but he grabbed them and pinned them between my breast. My cheeks reddened worst when he examined it there.

Oh god. I don’t know what to say. The way he’s looking on it as if he’s searching for a missing sock.

“Your insides are stretched, causing it to get sore,” he explained, then he let go of my legs and arms. He stood up and positioned himself to carry me. I gently wrapped my arms around his neck, and his scent sent electricity throughout my whole body.

“We’re going to eat, after that we’re heading to school.”

So he can cook. I gaped at his side profile, watching him cautiously. I don’t get it. He all of a sudden became so overnice to me. I mean, it’s not that I want him to go mayhem again and makes things worst as they were before. I’m glad that he somehow change.

I can’t eat that much as I am naked in front of him. Though his attention is on his food, I can’t help but steal a glance at him. His eyebrows are furrowed, his one arm is resting on the table. He flaunts his lashes, displaying them to me, making me envious. I wish my lashes were that long. No doubt this man is incredibly bounteous. The way he can make every girl around him sway and fall to one’s knee for him is so compelling.

He looked up, our eyes connecting. He desirously arced his eyebrows, asking. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I could feel the heat rushing through my whole face. My hands are trembling, and my knees are getting debilitated. I shook my head, not saying anything as I lowered my attention to the ground. He didn’t say anything also, but I can feel his menacing gaze that’s somehow controlling me under his eyes.

He may have killed his parents or twin for pleasance, but I hope he won’t kill someone who’s acquitted. I still hadn’t forgiven Ethan for what he did to those bystanders, especially when he maltreated me several times, but I’m thankful he let me live my life. He stopped me from killing myself and gave me a significant move forward.

For the following days, my life was back the way it was before. I haven’t seen Ethan for three days now, and I have no idea where he went or what he is implementing, but I hope it’s not about slaughtering someone. I shook my head and let out a sigh. Why am I even thinking about him? He has his own life. He set me free. I should be happy enough, even if sometimes there are nightmares.

“Natasha, it’s our defense right now!”

I screamed in terror when Carls slammed the papers on my desk. I looked up at him. His eyes are twitching while holding a tumbler of coffee. He must’ve been trying to edit and take care of our research all night. I did my part, but I know it’s not enough for a perfectionist leader like him who aims to make everything, cue the glittery effect, flawless.

“It will be held at the topmost floor, and the panels are ready in their seats. They asked me to revise some chapters, but this idiot forgot to print them.” Carls grunted, then he looked sideways to our member, Daril, fidgeting on his hands.

“I’ll print them.” I volunteered and stood up. Though I am wearing my heels and formal clothing, I think I can run for it.

“Hurry.” Carls gave me his USB for the soft copy. I grabbed it and rushed down the stairs. I almost lost my balance when I jumped from the remaining steps.

I was almost out of the air as I attempted to quicken my phase to reach my destination. I looked around, trying to look for an open computer shop. But to my dismay, most of the internet cafes are closed. I was panicking inside. What am I going to do now? I don’t have any friends who have a printer that I can run up to.

I looked at the phone and saw that our time was about to end. I rushed towards the other side of the street. To my misfortune, a truck was coming towards my way. I froze on my spot, eyes widening in fear when someone pulled me on the side of the road. An arm embraced my body, and my head hit something hard. When I looked up, I saw I ended up between the arms of someone I hadn’t seen for a while.

“I spare your life for this?” he asked in disbelief as he helped me to stand up.

“T-thank you…” I can’t look at him straight in the eyes. We were quiescent for a moment as I was still processing his thought. He’s here, and he saved me again when I remembered that I had a defense and needed to print out our output!

“Talk to you later!” I hurriedly walk past him, not minding his wrinkled eyebrows asking where I am going. I didn’t look back at him as I saw an open computer shop. I breathed an utterance of alleviation.

While waiting for the printer to transform our output, I saw my phone vibrate. Carls texted me a message saying I needed to speed up. When the output printing was done, I didn’t waste any more time, and I rushed through the school. My heart is pounding insanely, and my knees are getting weak. I remembered that the defense was being held on the topmost floor. I hastily go there.

When I reached the top, I excitedly waved the papers as I had made it, but my excitement soon went down when I saw Carls and my other classmates' unsatisfying looks and scowls on their faces. I stopped in my tracks as Carls launched his way towards my spot. I shrieked when he snatched the papers from my hands, and he slapped it across my face, letting the pieces scattered on the floor.

“Because of you, we will do another research!” he yelled at my face then left me out there. I saw my other groupmate shaking their head then following Carls direction. When I was alone, I didn’t know what was on the ground until a teardrop fell on the floor while picking up the pieces of paper.

Night came, and I walked on the side of the road on my way to my apartment. I can’t help but let out a loud sigh of the hindrance. Of course, it’s my fault. I should be cautious at the time, but I didn’t, and now they hate me for failing them. Even if I explain my side, they won’t even bother to listen.

I inhaled sharply and focused my attention on the pathway when I halted in my tracks as I saw Ethan. He’s alone while his eyes are looking somewhere. He was being careful because he seemed to be hiding something. My eyes narrowed into slits when I saw him looking forward, and his fangs showed.

“What is he doing here?” I asked myself as curiosity got the best of me. I followed him. He put his hands inside his pockets. I don’t have any idea where he is going, but I’m praying for myself that he won’t see me trailing behind.

I stopped dead on my spot, and my eyes widened in terror when I saw Carls walking while holding his phone, scrolling through it. Ethan crawled on the sidewalk then his body transformed. My palms suddenly became sweaty, and I didn’t immediately know what to do. I was panicking, but when I saw Ethan was about to attack Carls, I jumped into the scene.

“CARLS!” I was incredibly fast that I managed to push him even before he could look up who was calling his name. He rolled on the sidewalk, his phone scattered on the floor. Our eyes met when I got pushed to the ground, and blood was gushing down my lips. Carls lips trembled when he saw me getting attacked by Ethan as a werewolf.

Instead of helping me, he stood up and ran away for his life. I slowly look at Ethan’s bloodshot eyes, hungry for meat and blood. When our eyes locked, he suddenly realized who he had attacked.

“N-Natasha…no…” his voice broke as he embraced me. My vision was blurry as a massive wave of pain crept in. I looked down, and I saw my ripped flesh on the chest. He aimed for the heart.

“NO!” the echoing of his loud aggrieved voice was the last thing I heard before darkness invaded me.
